Just bought this again Thursday (finally) and it is such an awesome game. I agree on the glitches though, I have a book (forgot the name) which I found before a quest and now I can't do anything with it. It's such a shame this games best thig about the free open world can mess it up so badly. I don't think my dragon call shout works either. It does seem that you should have to play through all the story first before exploring but that's so limiting to an awesome game. If they ever make you play through the entire story in order to fully explore then I'll cry. It's probably the biggest draw of the series for me. Starting the game setting off to find all locations before even doing the first real story mission. I believe I found well over 150+ places before I even went to Riverwood for the first mission. Morrowind was harder to do that though since the enemies were not scaled to your level, but I found it to be batter that way.

Yeah that's sort if what I did, I like to just wander and get random missions and go my own way but it seems to avoid glitches like missions starting too soon or the like then it seems to need to be done before all of that. I'm fine with always carrying a random book around forever than being forced to follow a story instead if exploring skyrim.

And of course @chip, uesp.net is awesome.

One of the things I like about Elder Scrolls is that you can find items that later turn out to be quest items so you've already completed the quest and just have to hand it in. It rewards you for exploring. I've played countless games where I come across something, but I can't pick it up, only to find out later when someone gives me a quest to get that item. Then, of course, I can now suddenly pick the item up.

PS+ won't be required to play ESO, but XBL will be. Also, Amazon put and removed the Imperial Edition of the game quite fast and had a picture featuring what comes with it. It looks like you can only be an Imperial if you buy the collectors edition. A race that has been with the series since the start and you need to fork over what is most likely $150 or possibly buy him later, awesome stuff. I really hope this game doesn't tarnish the series' image because for everything shown so far it's going to be well below the standard for the series.

Well that is great news for PS4 players and bad news for X-Box One players.. That seems like a lot of money just to get to be an Imperial (I'm 100% being a Breton).. What else does one get for buying the $150 edition?

What else does one get for buying the $150 edition? The game is still going to do horrible on consoles. I just don't see much of a market for it. Maybe Zenimax thinks it can ride on the tail of Skyrim, but the majority has been turned off by the subscription fee or the beta. I can't see the subscription lasting more than 6-8 months or so. Imperial EditionSeems like a rip-off. Then again, paying $150 for a video game is insane. The steelbook and box do look great though. But I am sure those digital items will be released later as DLC like basically every pre-order/collectors edition bonus is today.

The Imperial Edition is official. It's the only way to play as that race. Also, if you pre-order the game then you can have ANY race you choose join ANY of the alliances. That basically undermines the entire storyline of the game. But having to buy a collectors edition for a race that has it's own unique abilities, crafting, and armor is beyond ridiculous.

Yeah it does undermine that but I guess they don't care much. I still will pick the alliance all Breton's are typically in (Daggerfall I believe?).

Well Imperials do probably have the best all around stats anyways. I might check it out once it comes out, 12 or so dollars a month isn't that bad. Glad I wouldn't need to pay more to play as a Khajiit!

Glad I wouldn't need to pay more to play as a Khajiit! $15 a month is pretty awful considering the previews/impressions the game is getting. But with the rumored costs of the game being near $200 million, I guess they need to get some of that money back somehow. Maybe they could have used some of that money elsewhere rather than hire Kate Beckinsale to do a voice over.

Damn it cost them $200 million to make this game?!
No wonder they have to charge a sub fee!

I'll play when it goes to F2P, that may make the game worse or whatever but I dont care. My interest in MMOs in general is minimal. Im guy who can binge a game for a week and not touch it for months. So subscriptions would be painfully wasteful to me.

Damn it cost them $200 million to make this game?! No wonder they have to charge a sub fee! Reported to have cost 200 million The game has been in production since 2007. They have to make some money somehow or it could be one of the biggest busts in gaming history. The game is also confirmed to have an in game shop that you can buy items from with real world money.

I just want the Imperial Edition for the Molag Bal statue and the map of Tamriel which I find worth the extra $40. I could care less about the race thing, I'm a Nord all the way Imperials can suck it.

I'm sure a lot of people couldn't care less about the Imperials, but it's a slimy practice to lock something like that behind a collector's edition. As someone who cares about video games I just can't endorse the practice because then it gives the publishers the idea that it's okay to do that for future titles. If there is one thing I can't stand about this past generation it's nickel and dimming the consumer and it's only going to get worse.
By the way, there is an unboxing of the edition already on Youtube and the statue and map are highly unimpressive looking.

Put just over 10 hours into the beta.
It's awful.

Frankly, it's just boring. It's a basic MMO with extremely simplistic quests, awful combat and mediocre visuals. I think people went into this expecting multiplayer Skyrim and instead they're going to get what feels like a game trying to be Skyrim and completely missing the mark.
It'll be free to play in 6 months.

Of course if the reviews when it comes out are much better than you are saying it will be then I may try it out sooner.
