What "present stuff?" He's a football player and he's excited to be on a new team. Why is that a bad thing? My god you New York fans take this poop too seriously. It's almost as bad as the Cavaliers fans who were pissed that LeBron left. I don't think most NY fans would be as pissed if it wasn't with the Eagles.

No, I just have noticed that both Jets and Giants fans in this thread have been whiny bitches about their players leaving.

No, I just have noticed that both Jets and Giants fans in this thread have been whiny bitches about their players leaving. and now you are a whiney bitch about NY fans just like you claim they are about their players. Heaven forbid the fans that follow NY teams discuss players leaving and how they feel about it. Leave it to Councilor Kliquid to put a stop to that with multiple replies until it gets as lame as it's about to get in here....

When you say something like, "He's in it for himself," that should go without saying. Every athlete is like that, deep down. Well, I shouldn't say every one, but probably 95%. They do it for themselves, like all of the rest of us do. It just so happens that both Steve Smith and Shaun Ellis had better opportunities on other teams. New York fans, though, seem to believe that these players should disregard their own opportunities on BETTER TEAMS to stick with their New York team. It makes no sense. Lets be fair Kliq, you're not as much a Cowboys fan as you are a Fantasy fan. It's different when you root for a team rather than the players. That's a fair assessment, but I think that my unbiased approach to things should show that I don't have some distinct dislike for Giants or Jets fans. It just so happens that the bitching in this thread has come from primarily those two groups. So yeah, when I see these dumb comments, I'm going to respond with actual points and not just a homer opinion.

To be fair again, Jets/Giants also have the most fans that post in this thread, so you're going to hear more from them/us.
Let me put this out there, I was upset he signed with the Eagles for a day, moved on, he's on a rival team, and I hope he fails.

That's cool, I think you SHOULD hope he fails...
But to act like he did some terrible thing that no one else ever does by leaving, as others have, is ridiculous.

I never said anything about him disregarding other teams opportunities. Can you show me where I said that or are you just running all over the page (literally) with this creating whatever context you want with it. Telling me how I feel and putting words in my mouth. I didn't say that stuff, but I did say it was about to get lame in here.

First of all, I wasn't talking about you specifically. I was more talking about the Shaun Ellis situation, which is actually quite similar to the Steve Smith situation. Both teams have had fans in this thread who have whined about it.
But yeah, it seems about right that you would get all butt-hurt about it and think that I'm singling you out for whatever reason.
Since you seem to want me to point out where you've been whiny, though, here you go...
First you said that resigning him isn't a priority, which I agreed with. Then when he signed with the Eagles, suddenly you said he was "immature/narrow-minded."
Then today, he was "out for himself more than anything."
You previously specifically said that he "wanted more from the Giants and accepted less from the Eagles."
So yeah, you basically were saying that he's immature/narrow-minded because the opportunity he had in Philadelphia wasn't as good as the one he had in New York. According to you, that is.
The fact is, this is a guy who pays an agent to decide what's a better opportunity for him. I'm pretty sure that guy "gets it" more than you do.
If bringing up actual facts makes me "lame," so be it. I guess I'm lame.

But you would know myself better than I would, apparently. You're trying to tell me how I feel and that I'm claiming all of this stuff. I'm laughing. You're also telling me I'm hurt over anything you've said. Wow. A little pretentious, don't you think? I haven't even said much lol. But somehow you have all of this to write over one comment? Hey you think NY fans should be called out, fair enough. But I think you should be called out as inept for calling them out with a pretentious approach. If you're gonna get bent out of shape and go off again maybe you should reconsider who is coming off as "butthurt" here.

Too much time on my hands? What, exactly, took me long to do? Copying and pasting what you're writing or simply pressing the "quote" button takes me like two seconds. I'm literally quoting you, that's all. It's not my fault that what you're saying is blatantly one-sided and homer'iffic.
... And again, I'm not talking only about you.
If you were around him on a daily basis, that's cool and all, but how is that relevant whatsoever? You haven't given examples of how he's narrow-minded, but you conveniently say that right after he leaves your team.

The only reason i was pissed about losing Ellis was because he was around so long. Dude made like 50 or 60 million dollars with the Jets. You mean to tell him that 3 mill made THAT much of a difference? Come on. I get mad or upset anytime a good player leaves my team especially one who played for 10 years on the team.

Everyone gets disappointed when a player they like leaves their team. Only problem is some fans/fanbases get super butthurt about it such as the Jets and Shaun Ellis, and the Giants and Steve Smith. Hell as a Carolina fan when Peppers left last year I was disappointed, but I never said he is horrible, I hope he gets injured, etc, etc. It's a guy playing a game for a living and people get SO damn serious about it. If you are a real fan, you express maybe a little disappointment and move on.

He went to a team with a better chance of going further in the playoffs. Head Coaches, Coordinators, Owners, Teammates, etc all can factor into a decision. The money helped absolutely but if you were offered $1 mil here or $3 mil there, where would you go? Yeah $3 mil, me too.

Kliq....the reason I gave crapto Ellis is b/c of piss poor reporting. If the facts were reported accurately and not as if Ellis left for just a few thousand more, then I wouldnt have been up in arms about it.

Too much time for pulling ALL of this you've been writing over one statement. Putting all these words in my mouth and claiming I have all these feelings.
It's been illogical, pretentious and baseless.
As for personal accounts of Steve Smith. I tried to describe that like an hour ago but apparently you want more.
I used to see him pout about a lot of little things on a daily basis and involve himself in a lot of priorities I just don't really think highly of. I understand some of it should be left alone. That's why I just said I am not surprised to see him make some questionable statements or to play for a rival team after many bold statements against them.
I also have no problem with him now making bold statements against the Giants. Once again I say, I am not surprised.
If you want to convert that into homerism or put more feelings and words into my mouth; I'm just laughin.

Too much time for pulling ALL of this you've been writing over one statement. Putting all these words in my mouth and claiming I have all these feelings. It's been illogical, pretentious and baseless. It wasn't one statement. In fact, I copied three different things you said. I'm not putting words in your mouth, I'm quoting you. You're putting words in your own mouth... Or fingers, as the case may be. I used to see him pout about a lot of little things on a daily basis Okay, so he pouted... and involve himself in a lot of priorities I just don't really think highly of. ... What the does that even mean? I understand some of it should be left alone. That's why I just said I am not surprised to see him make some questionable statements or to play for a rival team after many bold statements against them. I also have no problem with him now making bold statements against the Giants. Once again I say, I am not surprised. I'm not surprised either. Want to know why? Because it's a ING GAME. He's talked crapbefore, lots of guys have... This isn't the first time, man. He was playing the media game, helping to sell himself and the team. He's going to continue to do it. No one is surprised. If you want to convert that into homerism or put more feelings and words into my mouth; I'm just laughin. Laugh all you want. It's just convenient that you say all these things after he leaves your team.

I've just said I'm not surprised by this situation. Big deal. I'm making an observation or two about an NFL player. You guys are now making observations about Giants fans on an individual level. I'm laughin.

Apparently Eli Manning said he considers himself to be in the same class as Tom Brady when it comes to elite quarterbacks in the NFL....
