But, it is a wrestling company. Sure, WWE deliver more story than wrestling itself, but it is still a wrestling company.

I don't see what the big deal is, nothing is going to change. It's going to be the same damn show we watch.

As long as it's World Wrestling Entertainment... it's always gonna be a wrestling company. You think anybody goes to the show and thinks "Wow, what a great sports entertainment match between those magnificent sports entertainers" but then again, they don't have bookers either... they have TV writers [/Cornette]

Thank God there is already a WE(Women's Entertainment, I think). Otherwise they'd probably just call themselves World Entertainment soon...

I don't think anybody needed a press release from the WWE publicist to realize that WWE is not a wrestling company anymore....it's more than apparent from watching any of their shows that WWE puts the LEAST amount of attention on the actual wrestling matches.

To be fair Smackdown has quite a bit of wrestling as well as Superstars, They save everything for PPV's which I don't mind but RAW with like 2 minute matches gets ridiculous.

I'd agree with that. When I sit down to watch WWE, I'm not doing it to see a good WRESTLING match, I'm doing it to storyline progression, character development and entertainment. If I wanted the former, I'd watch pretty much ANY other company.
WWE doesn't even compare to other wrestling promotions because it's trying to provide a totally different form of television.

I might be the only one...but I HATE story lines. It's getting to be more ridiculous than a soap opera.
Remember back in the day where the only motivation two guys needed to fight was because one guy was champion and the other guy wanted to try and win the belt from him? That was good enough for me.
Now it's like "You and I were childhood friends and you stole my high school girlfriend and made my family hate me and let my dog out of the house and he ran away and all of these events have made my life a living hell and I'm going to beat you up to get my revenge...oh and I guess while we're at it we might as well make it a title match LOL"

"He took yur jawb!"

I like how hard WWE try to distance themselves from the word "wrestling"... seriously how long is it before they change their name to "World Wide Entertainment"? It's getting pretty sad.
They can't even refer to their fans as "fans" anymore. And this is one thing I hate about WWE these days, you have wrestling matches, you have angles... you're a wrestling company, damnit. When people think WWE, they think "wrestling", not "sports entertainment", when they see John Cena, they think "the wrestler", not a "superstar."
Simply put, they're embarrassed to be a wrestling company...

Also....the minute WWE started to play dramatic music in the arena while guys were talking on the mic.....they completely showed me that this thing is going in a direction it's never going to come back from.

Why are they called World Wrestling Entertainment? Maybe hows bout World Wide Entertainment? I think they should change it to World Wide Entertainment....because WWE clearly embarrassed to have any aspects of wrestling on their programming, and to have the word wrestling in their company name is honestly an insult to wrestling and all of the great wrestlers from the past as well as the great wrestlers out there today who WWE won't take a look at because they aren't 7 feet tall and on steroids. Then again, the word "Entertainment" in their name can also be debatable a lot of the times too, lol.

They're trying to attract all the attention they can get, and they know that most people think wrestling is just that fake crap with jacked up superstars. SO, in order to draw the attention of future fans, they have to stop calling it a wrestling company. They want everyone to see how much more they provide than wrestling, and they want TV and movie stars to help promote it aswell. Everybody knows who Snookie is, so if they see her on WWE, they'll think it's a pretty hot item if SNOOKIE is on it. I know I know, it's stupid that they're trying to eliminate the word wrestling, but what can you do. At least the storylines are getting better and we still see a few jaw dropping spots every now and then. Just enjoy it now, later in life when WWE stops its run you'll be wishing you didn't critisize it so much.
