we're  ed? Yanks still have the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th at least to bat. Only down by 3 runs...plenty of time as long as Colon or somebody can just STOP THE BLEEDING NOW. In the bottom of the 4th, both Teixeira and A-Rod both JUST missed 3 run HR's to the track, so even when the Yankees are getting out they are hitting the ball right on the button and JUST missing it. As long as the Yankees can stop Detroit from scoring and hold it at 7-4....we have a great chance to comeback and win this game. |

I don't understand why they took Hughes out, he was doing just fine, and honestly I'd rather have Hughes in then Colon.

I don't understand why they took Hughes out, he was doing just fine, and honestly I'd rather have Hughes in then Colon. Hughes had over 90 pitches in 4 innings and had given up 5 runs including two 2-run HR's.....he had NOTHING today. Colon made ONE bad pitch and then went on to strike out the side. Yanks AGAIN crawling back and have it to a 1-run game. This game is UGLY but I like how the Yankees keep coming back. |

I already miss Utley. Valdez just doesn't have the fielding skills that Utley has.

...now they're intentionally loading the bases after giving up two this inning already? I mean, the pitcher's up but with Ohlendorf's control issue today...
Edit: Overbay just saved a possibly disasterous base loading. Good stuff.

Valdez is actually a better fielder than Utley Utley is not gonna be a factor this year. I've seen Valdez miss two pretty routine plays so far. Not errors, but just plays he missed like completing a double play or knocking down a grounder instead of fielding it cleanly. You may be right about Utley. I don't think he's coming back any time soon and when he does I have no clue how good he'll be. |
