“Today, I am proud to announce that Versus will be launching its own wrestling organization. ‘Versus Championship Wrestling’ is a new project that will air on the Versus Network, Tuesdays from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm. We respect the wrestling business and are proud to now be a part of it. What we plan on doing with ‘Versus Championship Wrestling’ is to change the business as we know it. With ‘VCW’ we plan on making it the biggest wrestling company in America and with your support we hope that dream becomes a reality. Now, Ladies and Gentlemen, the Commissioner of ‘Versus Championship Wrestling’, Randy Savage!”
“Thank you, thank you. The Macho Man is proud to be a part of the new wrestling phenomenon that is ‘Versus Championship Wrestling’. And as Commissioner, I will lay down the law when needed, yeah. So, tune in, Tuesday at 9:00 to watch the wrestling business change forever. Oh Yeah, dig it!”

VCW had to change the names of Trevor Murdoch, Road Dogg and Billy Gunn due to copyright issues.
The 2-hour special appears to be a Pay Per View like show. It is expected that they will have several of these a year.
VCW has already taped the first two episodes to air on Versus. It is expected that they will tape two shows a week.

The show begins as we see all the fans in the building.
Savage makes his way into the ring. He thanks the crowd for coming and says that the Championship Hunt begins tonight. Just then, Chase Stevens interrupts him. Chase says that he doesn’t understand how he isn’t involved in the Championship Hunt. Savage says that if he wants to be in the Hunt then he has to win his next match, which starts right now! Junior Fatu makes his way to the ring.Chase Stevens vs. Junior Fatu Fatu starts the match in a dominating way. Stevens managed to turn it around with a poke to the eyes. Stevens tried every dirty tactic in the book. Fatu managed to roll out of the way of the Shooting Star Press. Fatu hit him with the Fatu Bomb for the three.
Winner: Junior Fatu (8:42) |
After the match Fatu puts Stevens in the corner to set up for Stinkface, but Stevens rolled out of the way just in time, as the crowd boos.**Commercial Break**We return as Raul and Paul London make their entrances.Raul vs. Paul London Raul controls the match in the early going. London throws Raul to the outside and connects with a Suicide Dive to gain control. Both men battle back into the ring. London went to kick Raul but he moved and London connected with the ref. Raul goes and grabs a chair and swings. London moves out of the way and the chair bounces off the ropes and hits Raul. London goes to the top and hits the 450 Splash as the ref comes to and counts the three.
Winner: Paul London (12:28) |
We see Savage sitting in his office as Chase Stevens barges in. Stevens says that Savage caught him off guard earlier and that he still deserves to be in the Hunt. Savage says that he’ll consider adding him, if he wins his match next week.**Commercial Break**We return as the main event competitors enter the ring.William Gunn vs. Murdok The match begins with a test of strength in which Gunn wins. Gunn controls Murdok until Murdok ducks a Clothesline and connects with a Big Boot. Murdok takes control of the match, working on the left arm of Gunn. Gunn manages to overcome the injured arm and hits Murdok with a Fame-asser for the win.
Winner: William Gunn (10:07) |
Tony Schiavone thanks everyone for tuning in and says that next week, The Championship Hunt continues.

not really liking the looks of things so far. Seems a tad unrealistic if you ask me...keep trying at it though. You will only learn.

It's good to see you accepting critism thats where most newbies go wrong on this board. It is unrealistic but still kinda feasable. The layout is damn good for a first diary. I'm unsure who would want to tune in for a show with some of this tallent esp the main event you booked, Gunn vs. Murdock. As a first show you should have had lots of promos introducing the competitors establishing thier style and gimmick but I'm sure thier characters will develop as this goes along. Maybe research the indies (not just youtube) and pick realistic roster additions to add to frankly what is a WWE reject show. Raul who?. Good luck and keep this up.

I have been looking through the indies to find more people. I have a couple of wrestlers already in mind.

Do love the layout, but not too sure on the roster at this point. You need some actual wrestling talent in there, some high flying people. Paul London is a great start though, you should be building him as your main wrestler imo. Especially above Murdoch. The show was good for the roster you had to work with, but I'm expecting much more out of this in the future.

-From the looks of things, the layout is pretty decent, anyways this looks like it has potential. I always love new promotions that can be build to a major promotion. -Junior Fatu over Stevens seems like a pretty good start. Good realistic post-match. -Paul London over whoever Raul is is the best call. I'm not an expert on indy-leagues, so London is good. -Gunn over Murdoch was the best way to go. I hope you pick up Jimmy Jacobs or Tyler Black. -Decent first show; looking forward to establishment.

Thanks for the replies, Gentlemen. Could always use a little constructive criticism.
I'll try and reply to both of you tonight (hopefully) or tomorrow.

I love created promotions as there is so much more you can do with them than established promotions like WWE, TNA, ROH, etc. You've been getting alot of negative and constructive replies and you're taking them lightly unlike so many others who usually give up after they read one bad thing about their diary. Overall, it is unrealistic as heck but I'm not too fussed by that as EWR is always funner to use when the realism factor is thrown out. Good idea to have the more established guys like Fatu, Gunn and London to get wins on the first show as the viewers will be more familiar with those guys than they would Raul and Chase Stevens.

There are really only two aspects of this that are unrealistic. Randy Savage and Tony Schiavone being part of the promotion as that would never happen. But, I don’t think that is a huge deal. I love that you have Albright, Kenny, Jeter and London on your roster. Those four guys, in my opinion, have never been used to the greatness they could have had at a national level.
As for the show, nothing all that surprising happened. Fatu, London and Gunn all going over were expected. I hope that the four guys I mentioned earlier are focused on and given a lot of air time. Not a bad first show, considering its your first attempt. I expect you to improve over time, for sure. Good luck!

The debut episode of VCW drew, .5 million viewers. The rating is said to be lower than what was expected.
The backstage feeling is that Tony Schiavone won't be staying long. It appears the company will keep him until they find someone new to replace him. It is said that the VCW feels he brings an "old" vibe to the show and they want someone who could bring newer, younger energy.
VCW has reached out to several indy stars for a possible contract. No word on who they were, but we'll keep you posted.

Good layout for a first try, very nice job there. Fatu with the win was the best, good to have the more establish man go over. Who's Raul? Anyway good win for London. Looks like you're pushing Chase, ugh. William Gunn? What a horrible name. I'm sorry, but I just don't like it. Murdok is actually kinda cool, though. Maybe another segment could have been added. Good show for a first try, but you have a task at hand to work with here.
