SPOILER Anyone else think the little girl/spaceman is River? ever since they said last series that she killed someone, i always thought that she killed the doctor because she's got to be something big to do with him, i even said earlier to a few of my mates when the astronaut sp? killed the doctor, i was like thats more than likely going to be river

Not to mention she would be one of only a few people to know that killing the Doctor mid-regeneration would actually kill him.

Typical first parter. Lots of confusion and too much going on. I think I'll enjoy it much better when I watch it back.
SPOILER TALK BELOW
I hated the big ending basically being spoiled. Big build up to Amy shooting the spaceman/child then in the "next week" video they show that the spaceman/child is fine. And I think it's too far obvious that Song will kill the Doctor.

I prefer Smith to Tennant (I never liked Tennant as the Doctor) so I was really excited for the new series starting up. I really liked the Silence and I hope they make a comeback.
I really really enjoyed the fact that they're still referring to stuff from last series, like, the whole thing is still going on and they're actually writing a history for the doctor, one which makes sense and allows us to feel like we're watching a mystery where we have to put the pieces of the puzzle together.
Love it.

Love it. Yeah totally agree with you. These last 2 series have been really amazing so far. Steven Moffat was the best thing to have happened to Dr Who. Spoiler talk: Am I right by saying that based on tonight's episode, the little girl is a time lord? And you have been saying she could be River, which would explain why she no longer has the American accent since she can regenerate? Seems a bit wierd to me, as she would still be able to regenerate later on. So maybe it isn't River. Hope it is though

They threw in so many things kinda hard to keep track. or know which way things are going. More spoiler talk Yes, it appears the little girl is a Time Lord due to her regenerating at the end which does kinda throw my River theory out the window. I'd now say things are looking like the little girl is The Doctor and Amy's child from what was seen in last nights episode. Some things still don't make sense; like the one eyed woman in the door for example.

I think it's more likely that the girl is either River, or River and The Doctor's daughter from the future. But why did she kill The Doctor - and why did he let her/know about it? Hmmm....

The Silent 'made' a Time Lord using The Doctor's DNA and Amy's body to carry the child

Spoiler Theory from a Doctor Who nerd:
I think River is the child in the spacesuit, as well as Amy's child... now the four questions are
1) Is River a Time Lord? 2) Does the adult River know Amy is her mum? 3) Is the Doctor the father? 4) Why did the scanner in the TARDIS go nuts
First of all, to understand this, you have to remember that apparently a TARDIS is 'grown' not made ("The Impossible Planet") this implies there is an element of biology or DNA within a TARDIS)
Now, if you remember, the Doctor and Amy were joking about the baby having a 'time head' due to spending so much time in the TARDIS, well, i believe that whilst they were joking, the TARDIS travel has affected Amy's baby... think of how looking into the TARDIS affected Rose.
Also, we've never seen a pregnant woman in the TARDIS for a prolonged period (I dont think) so we dont know the affects. This is what has caused the seeming regeneration ability of the space-child, not the Doctor being the father (answering question 3). This also means River isnt a Time Lord... rather a human baby with 'TARDIS DNA' or something like that... seems possible as the TARDIS is said to be grown, not built, implying elements of it are living (answering question 1). This mix in DNA may be what confused the scanner, it could have been searching for a human baby in Amy, however River has elements of 'TARDIS' aswell as human, which caused it to trip out (answering question 4).
Now, we know the child know about Amy as she has a picture of her, but River seemingly doesn't. The only reason i can believe right now is that as a child she only had that picture and lost it when she left the orphanage, so she may have forgot what Amy looks like. That or some event that is to be revealed in Rivers life (answering question 2).
Two other things to think about. River, although seemingly human appears to be able to travel through time... yet unlike Doctor or even Captain Jack, she's never shown with any time travelling technology, her 'TARDIS DNA' may be the reason for her ability to time travel, it may also be why she is able to drive the TARDIS so well.
Finally, think about the first episode we see River, "Silence In The Library", River is wearing something very similar to a Spacesuit, knowing Steven Moffats penchant for continuity between episodes could be why.
God i love a nerd-gasm

My response to your spoiler River can time travel thanks to her time manipulator thing though? Especially since the Doctor used it at the end of the last series to travel between 1996 and 2000 years before to where Rory was as a roman And the fact she can drive the TARDIS always thought it's because the Doctor taught her And to your 3) - That would be wierd. Especially seen as though the Doctor and River are meant to be romantically linked and eventually married. So the Doctor can't be the father, which is a relief. So that would mean she isn't a time lord too.
