Like the title says, I've never understood the hate for Jeff Jarrett. They guy has always been an above average worker who knows how to put on an entertaining match and how get under the skin of fans. Maybe someone can elaborate but here are the usual reasons that I hear from people that seem silly at best...
1) He was only a mid-carder in the WWF. Seriously? Vince has a grude against Jarrett because before he left for WCW, he made Vince pay him all the bonus money that Vince did owed him. Of course Vince is going to burry him. Jarrett was even set for a main event push in 1999 before it was shot down by Austin over a personal grude the two had from years ago. Jarrett's "Don't Piss Me off" gimmick was getting over pretty well and the only thing that held him back was a grudge w/ Austin. But everywhere else he went, he has been a top star becuase he knows how to get a ton of heat.
2) He couldn't draw a dime. WCW was basically on it's last legs by the time Jarrett was given the title. His "Slap Nuts" gimmick was one of the few entertaining things left from WCW at the time and was one of the few guys constantly putting on good matches that year. Nobody who held the WCW title in 2000, including guys like Booker T, DDP, Nash, and Scott Steiner, drew a dime, yet nobody seems to bash them about it. The guy was working his ass off during the last year of WCW's existence, yet seems to get no credit for it.
3) He held the title to much. This is something I hear more during his time in TNA. Yes, the guy use to be part owner of TNA, but the fact is that he only held NWA-TNA World Title 6x becuase he was TNA's biggest name back in 2003-2005. Thats when TNA was just starting out. Guys like AJ Styles were putting on great matches, but back then, casual fans had no clue who the hell AJ Styles was, while alot of casual fans knew of Jeff Jarrett. Unlike someone like HHH(who I am a fan of), who held the world title when he didn't need to, Jarrett was the champ so many times because he was TNA's biggest name. Ever since Angle and Sting showed up in 2006, Jarrett hasn't held a world title since.
Not trying to rant here. I'm just wondering why people really seem to hate Jeff Jarrett. The guy is severly underrated and deserves more credit for his hard work over the years IMO.

I liked Jarrett and I understood that he was the biggest name at the time. However, if I remember correctly towards the end of TNA's run in the Asylum Jeff Hardy was around? If he was the hottest free agent as they made him out to be, why not put the title on him?
And Sting actually worked for TNA in 2003. So back then, everyone missed Sting and wanted to see him wrestle again. At World Wrestling All-Stars "The Reckoning" Event, Sting faced Jeff Jarret to join the WWA & TNA titles. Why not let Sting get the strap if you want to base it off the "biggest name theory." Just saying.
I actually have enjoyed him though since his 2006 return. Hell I was REALLY excited to see him back when he came back around 2009. I think he gets a lot of hate for his TNA days because I believe obviously similar to Kevin Nash in WCW he had some booking control and I just think he went to long holding that championship.

Agreed, but I believe that Sting wasn't around for long, so there wouldn't have been any point for him to be given the title at the time if he was just going to leave. Hardy was given the gimmick as the hottest free agent at the time, and I can see the argument as for why he should have been given a run, but he was a huge liability at the time because of his drug problems(still is today), and was still a mid-carder IMO. I think TNA did the right thing by just passing the title between Jarret, AJ, and R-Truth.

I thought all the Jarrett hate ended years ago? I've been a fan of Jarrett's since back in the USWA days. And as extremely dorky as it may sound I really liked "With My Baby Tonight"

He's really not as amazing as he thinks he is. But after watching that just now...I like Jeff Jerrett even more. lol. Pretty awesome promo. Kind of funny that "dumb blond" ended up being his Manager a couple years from then, as well as marry the "blasphemous" Stone Cold Steve Austin. I've been a Jarrett fan for a while. I think he was fine in WCW but the lack of good content he had to work with there really hurt him, and helped strengthen or create the dislike for him, but call me crazy, I loved him from the time TNA got off of weekly Pay-Per-Views. I didn't follow the product too greatly from 2002-2004, but did order some shows and had a general idea of what was going on. However, once they got on Fox Sports Net, Spike and had real PPVs, I was impressed by Jarrett and am probably one of the few to enjoy him as the NWA-TNA World Champion. From what I know about him now, he's in a prolonged program with Kurt Angle in good Matches and a so-so to poor storyline, but I do love the comedy he provides when he gets to flex that muscle.

His WCW Run. He broke a million guitars but never drew a dime.

Also in the Aslyum days, Jarret felt as though he had the entire company on his back, and had to carrie it and the championship every where. He didn't feel he could trust anybody esle.

Jarrett will always be one of the most underrated heels of all time in my book. I like Jeff Jarrett. I met him in 2009 and he was a nice guy, which helps. Yes. I met him right around the time Hogan joined up with TNA in 2010. They did a house show here in Houston and he was there signing autos. EXTREMELY nice guy and great with the fans. And people can say all they want, but Jarrett is legitimately passionate about this business. People hope all over Cena, Edge, and Miz's junk(to name a few) about how much they love the business...well I think Jarrett is just as passionate as they are and would probably do anything he had too for TNA.

This is one of my favorite promos from him and it just shows how this guy can go from serious promos to comedy promos and back when needed. He was one of the very few entertaining guys left at the end of WCW and was one of the only reasons I watched until the end. He worked his butt off in 2000 even though he was given terrible writting by Russo and Bischoff and deserves more credit for it.

You don't need to preach to me, I've been a huge fan of Jeff Jarrett's since his USWA days too which was around about the time I started watching it. I think some of his promos and interviews over the years are the most entertaining I have seen, As I usually record all my wrestlings shows now he's one of the few wrestlers left that I never fast forward when he is on.

I never thought much of him either way, but this whole thing with hm and Angle is too much. I feel sorry for Kurt, bad enough he went through a less than neat divorce, then she goes and marries Jeff now theyre using for yet another stupid angle on TV. They need to put an end to it fast, cause Ive been through a divorce too and for quite some time it killed me to be anywhere near my ex cause it made me relive the fact that I was a up and it tore me up, I stopped going out dancing at our club cause everyone knew us there as a couple and I couldnt deal. I cant imagine what it would have been like if I had to see her at work every day and work directly with her. I probably would have tried to kill myself (which I did actually) It cant be any better on Kurts kids Im sure. The whole thing just makes me sick cause I can relate and obviously Jeff doesnt care.
