I think this is a 27 year old I can leave off of it. If it is because of drugs then maybe you should take people out of your sig. More than likely it's cause he thinks she sucked as an artist. Which is really funny considering his sig has Jim Morrison who was an awful lyricist.

I think this is a 27 year old I can leave off of it. Why? 1. I could careless about her. 2. She didn't have anything to offer for music anyways. 3. Her death wasn't as shocking as the main five 27 year olds (Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, & Brian Jones.)
Hell, Kristen Pfaff had more talent than this chick. & she died basically the same way, with drugs. I would have said Mia Zapata would be closer towards Amy's ways, but she was beaten and raped......

Anything to offer apart from an amazing voice? I think in many years her music will still be played. Her death wasn't as shocking?! They were all junkies except for Brian Jones (possibly).

She was extremely talented and made pop music look like it was worth something when she was on top. 3. Yeah wasn't that shocking. But the rest didn't live in an era where they were hounded by media 24/7. So that point is pretty invalid.

Very unfortunate that she was never able to stay clean. So much talent and 27 is a young age to go. She was able to. She just chose not to, which is the only real unfortunate part. Like many others, I don't see this as a surprise at all. I am sorry for her family and friends, however.

Especially considering how much her trainwreck of a personal life overshadowed any song she released in the last 5 or 6 years.

So far as I can tell, she was more famous for the drugs than the music, something that really can't be said for Cobain, Hendrix, Joplin, Jones, or Morrison.

Tbh, you could blame that on the media in today's world. However, she was quite the singer, it's embarrassing hearing people saying she wasn't very good.

Constantly hammering him about beating his wife and taking drugs with Courtney while she was pregnant, wondering why he would release a song about rape (rape me) without knowing the exact meaning of the song. etc. The Doors were one of the most controversial bands of the 60's, Morrison was always attacked by media, for being a drunk & being accused of flashing his genitals on stage. Jimi Hendrix, the guy who played the National Anthem & people became upset with him, thinking it should have been played more dignified, and not with a guitar, some others. The 60's was FULL of the media attacking people. Of course, it probably wouldn't have been as quick as it is now with technology being as it is. But they still got a dose of media.
