I've just got back in to collecting the R3 Tech figures. So far I have Chuck Palumbo, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit and Matt Hardy and I'm waiting for Hollywood Hogan and Chris Jericho to arrive. I remember when these first came out around late 2001. I was blown away by the detail and scaling of the figures.
Unfortunately, I guess not too many people liked them as they were only sold for about a year. Then Jakks started the RA line. But there were some col figures released in R3 form. The nWo, Jericho, Edge and the Hardyz.
What does everyone else think of these figures? Still have some? Used to collect them?

I thought they were nice enough looking figures, but their playability was sub-par compared to the TTLs (which seemed to me more playable than RAs). That said, R3 gave us some great figures - Kane, DDP, Rhyno, Kurt Angle, etc.
I sold about half of my R3s over the past couple months, but I still have a bunch of mine (posted in classifieds) if you're interested in taking a look at what's left of my collection.

I thought they were jakks best style of figures. it's just too bad that they kept giving everyone the arched Austin torso. Other than that my only complaint's were they didn't have the correct size boots for HHH and all the guys that used Angles legs looked odd when the knees were bent because they placed the knee joint too low on the leg.

good and bad, the moulds details were great but playability sucked and the hhh i have looks wierd. most did actually  |

disliked this style.I do however own the nWo in their ring gear and T-Shirts/jeans. the version Of hall I have is the black white version.didnt see the point going red when the rest werent  |

I remember when the R-3 figures first came out and i did not care for them. I have a few of them left.
I remember going into Value City and buying the entire nwo series for $3.00 each moc.

Yes, definitely true about the playability. I remember The Undertaker that came with a removable shirt and Hardcore Title. He looked awesome but I just couldn't use him at all.

I still have a few MOC I didn't really care for most of them RVD is my favorite out of the line the WM18 version was awesome to me at the time.

Only good one was Big Show. First figure of him to actually get the scale right. Yeah i still use that big show to this day, only the knees arent as good as they used to be luckly the big mattle kneepads fixed that problem |

They look quite similar, though the scale is a bit smaller on the R3's. |

I had completely stopped buying figures because TTL figures were SO awful and huge and bulky. THEN, R3 came out and I started buying again. I bought ALL the R3 I could find.
Then RA...
They were good but didn't fit w/ the R3 style.
R3 were pretty nicely articulated and could be posed but they kept re-using parts that shouldn't have been re-used for wrestlers...every one seemed to have Austin's arched back.

Good idea, ahead of its time, but because it was ahead of its time the technology wasn't there to deliver the kind of quality we have today. They didn't sell that well, and then they began reusing parts. As mentioned above, Austin's infamous "arched back" torso looked like Austin's actual body, but it really looked off on other people for the same reason. I loved the idea behind it, though. It came at the transitional time in wrestling, not long after WCW caved.

I first saw them at my mate's house in 2002: I was blowm away at how awesome Big show, Kane, Rock & The Hardys etc looked.
