Yzerman has a better chance of getting Luongo, imo. I don't see Gillis taking anything less than a Top 4 Defenceman + 1st. He's restricted at the end of the year, so hopefully they either keep him, or get a good payout.

This team's whole defense system gets worse every game.
Seriously, Yzerman, you can only wait so long until we're out of it completely. This team is not just gonna pick up the system and start playing check down hockey in a week. WE NEED A D-MAN. WE NEED A GOALIE.
Ever since 2004 this team's defense has killed us. We had some GREAT teams 05-06 and 06-07 but didn't have a goalie to go anywhere...then we get rid of some of our best players (Boyle and Richards included) for people who aren't even on this team anymore. 07-09 where we sucked, we had some pretty good offenses. But no good D-men or goalies. Last year we had a little more depth but we still weren't strong. This year, downhill again.
Get on it, Steve.

So... Shitload of Bobby Ryan rumors. Frontrunners for Ryan are the Leafs, Philly, Nucks, Rangers and some other team. According to Bob McKenzie Nucks are pushing the hardest.

I've deff been slacking on keeping up with this thread.  Not really surprised Maurice got axed from Carolina, but I was kind of taken aback by the Caps dropping Boudreau. Still not a fan by any means, but welcome back, Crosby. Weird how Miller said he was "rolling his eyes" at how the NHL didn't think his concussion was from the Lucic collision and asked if they were doctors, then came out this week and said he now thinks it was actually a neck injury? Vancouver and Detroit are on fire. Bruins are 12-0-1 in the month of November. Me like. |

Maybe that's my personal bias (he's kind of my favorite player today). And there's no need to do anything drastic like trading away your young studs for a desperate attempt at a turnaround. I'd be perfectly content with the Ducks aiming for the number 1 overall draft pick at this point.. this season is a waste. But who knows. Maybe Boudreau can magically make things work out with the mess of problems he's inheriting. It's sad to see Carlyle go, he's done great things for the organization, but it's clear he had no grip on the team anymore. |

Well the Pens have the Caps tonight, and it's the first time Crosby's facing them since the first hit that arguably gave him the first of two concussions in 48 hours. This should be interesting.

I think the combo of starting Rask while guys like Datsyuk were starting to get hot again didnt help at all. |

OH RYAN GETZLAF! Thank you for your temper tantrum, needed those extra two minutes.
Rough start, the looked very rusty right out of the gate. Bad turnovers, lack of defense, you name it...it was there. Then it pretty much turned into the Kimmo and Jaromir show. Timonen had a monster game.
Big 2 points in OT.
