I've clearly missed out on a bunch. I don't think I'd collect Legends as I have a fairly full set of CS (including some fix ups with Mattel heads)
I've heard the scale is going to be changed in 2012, is this true?
Would it be worth it to start collecting now? I see so many cool figures and even though I'm 28 I still think damn I wish I had these to have a match with. Guys like Wade Barrett, Sheamus, Del Rio that i've never been able to have a match with yet
I like the scale now but if its going to be changed to Hasbro size or something in 12 months maybe i'd be best not starting and ending up with box fulls of figures in the attic like I have with my Jakks ones now

The scale's not changing. They had asked what we thought about them adding another line in a smaller scale, but they said it probably wouldn't happen now.

My advice: collect them. I'm 25 and still collect avidly. I was primarily a tna Jakks collector but thy let fans down so much I had to look elsewhere and started collecting mattel. Simply put they are fantastic, accessible and reliable. Prices are high but detail is phenomenal

the scale is so awesome you have to collect them. your jakks collection may be cool but its not the same as a legends collection, wouldn't it be nice to have an Undertaker fig that stood taller than shawn micheals?

Another good poin about the scale. Great khali stood next to triple h or taker stood with Evan Bourne. Looks awesome

I was very very skeptic at first, as Jakks was all i knew for years. i'm also turning 25, and about 2 months ago, decided to buy my first figure, an Entrance Greats Undertaker....and was hooked from there. I almost have a full Legends set (they blow Jakks CS series away!), and about 25 elites. I dont bother with basic, as for a few $$ more you get much better articulation and great accessories. I say go for it, very easy to catch up with all sources like shopmattel, tru.com, amazon, ebay, and these forums! go for it dude!

You also don't need to feel bad because you missed out on the earlier figures. It makes it more fun although costly

I agree with what everyone is saying. I'm 26 and I took a long hiatus from collecting wrestling figures. Somehow I got bit by the wrestling figure bug and just recently started to collect Mattel figures. Thanks to these guys I don't feel ashamed that I missed out yet alone collecting WWE toys at my age! So go get them!!

i agree i love mattels compared to my jakks figures mattel's movement is amazing i have to twist and turn a little to make my jakks arm move but with mattel they moved like a charm. the only thing to be careful with is some times mattels have stain type things so be careful for that.

I think anyone on this Mattel board would tell you -- Mattel's figures are great. I collect elites after not wanting to switch over from 1000's of RA figures. I made the switch earlier in the year and am glad that I did. I think the different scale may be a throwback line of the OLD Hasbro figures. I know that Hasbro is owned by Mattel so my guess is we will finally get some more Hasbro style figures.

If you are collecting for value, I don't think you should collect.
If you are collecting because you love WWE and don't mind having a collection that is worth zero five years from now, go for it!

Wait, I was wrong. I don't think Hasbro is owned by Mattel. There was an attempt to merge back in 2005ish but my friend was telling me that it did not happen. Sorry about that earlier post.

I'm 34 and these things are addictive like crack! I loved Jakks at one time, but Mattel took all the good things from Jakks and improved all the negatives.

You were wrong then right Cammi, Mattel does not own Hasbro. I don't think that could even happen legally. we would control way too much of the overall toy business and would violate anti trust laws by creating a monopoly. as far as scales go, Our basic and Elite scale is the heart of our line. It is safe and will be continued for the forseable future.
