Someone went on about how gay people must not vote for Dr. Paul. This was my response. I’m gay and I’m supporting Paul. I am so sick of being told I have to vote for a candidate (read: Democrats) because they support me. No they ing don’t. They don’t give two poops about me or issues I face as a gay person. They just want votes. They don’t stand up and fight for marriage equality. Some do but the vast majority don’t. They only tackle gay issues when it’s important to them (read: election time when they need far left voters or when they can score political points with their base after taking a beating in an election and they will no longer have power so they don’t have to worry about turning anyone off by passing any legislation that helps us.) I’m sick of being told I need to support a candidate who will never deliver on promises of fighting to make me an equal citizen. You can argue all you want about Republicans hating gay people or not wanting same-sex marriage to be legal but the President still believes marriage is between a man and a woman. He says he’s evolving on that. Sure, he’s been evolving for like 5 years now. Maybe he’d do something if he’s elected to a second term but I wouldn’t hold my breath. I’m sick of having to vote on which candidate supports equal rights. There are many more issues than that out there which are important to me. I’d rather vote for somebody who agrees with me on 9 issues and thinks same-sex marriage should stay illegal than someone who I disagree with on 9 issues and thinks same-sex marriage should be legal. You know what other issues effect gay people? War and unemployment. What’s that, it effects straight people too? Yeah, it effects all of us and we need to tackle those issues. Great, you’re married, doesn’t mean poop if you are unemployed or homeless or you are half way around the world fighting in a country we have no business being in. I’d prefer if there was no federal recognition of marriage, straight or gay. Leave it up to the churches. You don’t need a piece of paper or the government to validate your relationship. If you need the validation, let the church do it or whatever you may believe in get some other organization to recognize it. I’m sick of playing these games of gay vs straight or gay voters vs straight politician. Enough already. We need to look at more than this issue. Just out of curiosity, where did you hear this from? Was it another hit piece? No, it's from tumblr. Some on there hate Paul and are using the newsletters to attack him as racist and homophobic. I was just responding to one of the attacks.

I mean this with all seriousness... Anyone who specifically doesn't support Ron Paul because of those newsletters is a ing intellectually- disabled person. Look, there are MANY things that are logical for people to disagree with Dr. Paul on. Do you believe everyone should have free health care? Great. Do you think the wars overseas are just and important? Great. Do you think we should have open borders? Great. Do you think that we need the Department of Education, Department of Energy and Department of Commerce? Great. Do you believe that the TSA is doing a great job of stopping terrorism and should be allowed to continue with their current practices? Great. I might DISAGREE with you on those issues, but at least there is REASON to dislike Ron Paul if you believe those things. At least you have a logical reason as to why you won't vote for him. I have plenty of friends and there are many user here who don't support Ron Paul and I have no problem with that. Anyone that has a logical reason for not supporting him is perfectly fine with me. But when people spread this fictitious bullpoop about him being a "racist" and use that as a reason to not vote for him, that's where I draw the line. It's complete and utter bullpoop. It's CLASSIC fear-mongering. It's the media telling you who to vote for. Stop being a ing slave! Make some decisions on your own! Look at the FACTS. This is exactly the same poop that they tried to pull with Barack Obama when he was running, when there were countless smears on his character because of the Church he attended. Some people even tried to create the perception that he was a Muslim (as if that matters anyway). It was all completely ridiculous and should have had no barring on whether people voted for him or not. I did NOT vote for Obama, but I can tell you one thing - it had absolutely nothing to do with his religious views. Everyone is more than welcome not to vote for Ron Paul. But if you don't, let it be about the issues. Don't let it be about this ridiculous poop that the media is trying to stir up to steal your vote for their candidate(s).

I just wish Dr. Paul would simply out the people who wrote the newsletters. Granted the newsletters in general aren't hurting his campaign (yet), but I think voters wouldn't be so easily swayed if the person(s) who wrote them were acknowledged publicly.

I have no idea whether Ron Paul is a racist but I personally would not allow multiple newsletters to be printed in my name that contained such statements. At a minimum it shows a great deal of irresponsibility on his part. There needs to be some accountability on his part for the newsletters before I could ever support him.

I agree with ARR that all he needs to do is out the person who wrote the, toss that guy under the bus, make the general, "I was shocked/appalled/horrified and I've not spoken to them since/fired them/disowned them/sacrificed them to my goat gods to make amends" type statement. Then I think it all goes away. He's handling it the wrong way.

If he were to do that, the media would make themselves look stupid(er). Thus the voters will finally realize that they are purposely trying to smear this guy and question why.

At a minimum it shows a great deal of irresponsibility on his part. There needs to be some accountability on his part for the newsletters before I could ever support him. He has already admitted that it was negligent. However I think it's important to remember that it's not like this was a constant thing. It happened a few times and not even while he was in public office. Didn't they say that they don't know exactly who wrote the racist parts of the newsletters? I'd venture to guess that more than one person was writing on them. I think Lew Rockwell said that at least some of it was him.

Check out the immense amount of butt-hurt from the mainstream media about Ron Paul leading in Iowa: A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for sticking it up the asses of the traditional politicians who have ed you in the past. Do the right thing.

Jesus ing Christ... OH DEAR GOD, SLAPPY, DID YOU KNOW THAT RON PAUL WANTS TO EXECUTE YOU? MSNBC is so god awful. How ing absurd. For the record, Kent Snyder was gay and he was in charge of the Ron Paul Presidential campaign in 2008.

I think that's a little too absurd to sway people.
