Well ironically NE even being in the SB comes from a huge "what if". (Evans not being a bitch) Completely agree. Even if you don't like the Ravens for whatever reason, it's hard not to feel sorry for them. Two heart-breakers in the final 45 seconds.

Well ironically NE even being in the SB comes from a huge "what if". (Evans not being a bitch) As does NYG....Kyle Williams holds on to one of two punts and the Niners are/were playing tonight, even with an offense that produces nothing. That's the thing about sports, talent can get you so far but sometimes lady luck can get you further.

Here's that play again if you want another look at it. Welker did have to turn around and make the grab, but as Collinsworth said, it's a play Welker makes 100% of the time.

New England had plenty of chances to win that game, and they should have. Several dropped passes that should have, undoubtedly, been caught. Brady was throwing bullets and his receivers simply let him, and everyone else down. Wes Welker in particular.
Maybe it's just because I hate the Giants, but to me, it feels as though they never actually won a game in the playoffs - just walked away with victories based on opponent error.
Atlanta didn't show up, Green Bay had their worst game of the season all around, and San Francisco had two key turnovers caused by their own man that cost them the game. Then, tonight, Brady's receivers couldn't get the job done. It just felt as though the Giants got to the Super Bowl purely on good fortune and gifts from their opponents.
I understand technically there's no difference, and that really, the Giants did win, but it surely doesn't feel like it.

Truth right here..from Romo's overthrow, to Kyle Williams fumble, to Welker's drop, the Giants had lady luck on their side all along, thinking about it right now..every Super Bowl winning team has had lady luck on their side, from being healthy to facing the right teams (If we faced New Orleans, I have no idea if we would have won), to having the right bounces fall your away.. All I know is tonight we are champions.. And that's all that matters.

Looking through rosters, no team in the NFL has the match up skills to beat us other than the New Orleans Saints. (The Redskins just step up against us and we play to their level) We beat everyone who came through our way..and luckily New Orleans did not.. I guess that's luck? But many teams have made the Super Bowl/Won it by luck..actually, ever team has had something go their way..rather it be facing the right team, getting healthy..the other team not playing to their full potential and or just getting the right bounces. As said before..all that matters is that we're the Champions.. and we're the best team in the league.

I don't understand why people try and explain or justify competitive sporting events by throwing around words like "if" or "should" and "lucky".
"IF" this happened it would have been different? Like that's a good point for somebody to explain why they lost but are still better? Trying to say somebody got "lucky" because it went one way or the other is stupid too.
The Giants got "lucky" that Welker didn't catch a pass he "should" have caught...."IF" he caught it, it would have been different?
Well, he didn't catch it. Does that mean the Giants suck all of a sudden?
The Giants made less mistakes. Not every mistake the Patriots made was a "gift" that the Giants got based on undeserved supernatural luck. Sh*t happens. That's how sporting events get decided. One team makes more mistakes and the other team wins. Has nothing to do with luck or deserving it. It just happens.

Are you suggesting that, if healthy, the Giants should be favored in every game (except against the Saints) next season? I understand you are jubilant from this victory, as you should be, but don't say things like that. Because when the Giants do lose next season, you're setting yourself up to get attacked.

EDIT: I meant no team this year other than New Orleans could have beaten us..we beat both the number 1 seeds, the number two seeds..a 5th seed and had many huge wins against a number of teams this season. The only team who beat us BADLY this year was the Saints, every other loss we either avenged or it had stinker game all over it, (Seahawks game, both Redskins games). Obviously were going to lose next year..but my point was on paper, other than the Saints no team in the league this year had a match-up win over us.

Thanks. Care to reiterate? Not like it matters because we beat everybody in our way in the playoffs, and in the regular season we avenged every loss and the ones we didn't were stinker type games (Seattle, Redskins). Who matches up better with us? Houston, Baltimore, Pittsburgh? Because other than them we either A) Beat any other team, B) You would agree all the meddling teams don't match up with us, and C) We beat almost every good team in the NFC this year other than New Orleans (As stated).

Sure, I think the Eagles match up very well against the Giants. The Eagles have had the Giants' number the last couple of years, just like Giants have had the Cowboys' number. That competitiveness is what always makes the NFC East so tight. If you wanna disagree, fine, but I'm not changing my stance on that. The Eagles have given you problems year after year.

Okay, but I guess the Eagles can say they avenged their loss to you, as well. Just a quick fact - the Eagles are 7-1 against the Giants in their last 8 games dating back to 2008, including the playoffs. I mean, I guess I could be wrong, but I think Andy Reid draws up a pretty good game-plan every time he gets to face the Giants.

There's a lot of teams that match up well against the Giants, some even better then others. I think the Giants would have an easier time with the Saints then teams like Ravens, Niners and Steelers. I know if the Giants and Niners played 10 times, you'd be a fool if you said either team would come out with some 8-2, 9-1 advantage. With the Saints it just depends on where you play them. Inside, Saints, outside, the other team.

You say no team matches up against the giants this year, yet the Redskins alone beat them twice. So i guess they matched up better since they won TWICE.
