Fairly decent direct in my opinion. I have no idea why so many people at NeoGAF expect so much in these things. Kirby, Mario Golf, and Mario Kart should make for a nice first half this year. Although I would have loved to have seen Bayonetta 2 launch in June since it's in the winter/fall then I doubt I will be able to have the time or money for it with all of the next-gen titles coming then. Wii U literally has nothing between DK and MK. If I had to guess I would say Hyrule Warriors, Smash Bros., Bayonetta 2, and Yarn Yoshi is their fall line-up since X wasn't mentioned as being 2014 in the direct.
However, the spring line-up for the Wii U is a joke. Donkey Kong and Mario Kart 8. Two games within the first six months of the year. They both look really high quality, but you just can't expect to compete with the other consoles when that is your output for the first half of an entire year.

It's nice that they are offering a free game, but I already have the three of worth. I guess I will sell a Pikmin code or trade it for something. Europe got a much better selection to chose from in the deal.

I already own New Super Mario Bros. U and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, so Pikmin 3 will be my choice for the free game.

I have all of them but Wind Waker. Enjoyed each game on the list - you really can't go wrong with them, even Wii Party U (which is my go-to family game night video game).

I just can't wait to see Zelda U next month and the possibility of Majora's Mask 3D. E3 is the best time of the year.

Picked up Kirby 3DS and Mario Golf yesterday for my birthday. Played a bit of the Kirby Fighters multiplayer game with my almost-girlfriend, and it's not surprisingly super reminiscent of Smash Bros. We had a lot of fun with it - definitely a great little placeholder until Smash 3DS comes out. Best part is you don't need multiple game cards to play it (I think you do for Mario Golf).

So Nintendo is supposed to be showing games that are nearing completion and games that are far off at E3. If that turns out to be true then I think we will probably be seeing their line-up for the Wii U through 2016 at E3. Zelda I am sure will turn out well, it's just a shame that it will be fall 2015.

I haven't looked forward to a Mario Kart game this much since Double Dash. I have Mario Kart 8 pre-ordered but still want to "test drive" the demo at GameStop this weekend. You should purchase the Mario Kart 8 Wii U bundle. Great way to get started. |

I finally got my pro controller today. I guess I am now ready for Bayonetta 2, Smash Bros, and X whenever they come out. Awesome, I was going to get a pro controller too but when they announced the Gamecube controller I'll get that instead. |

E3 pulled me in big time. Bought a refurbished Wii U + NintendoLand for $200 on the Nintendo store website. Should be coming Monday! Can't wait for Smash and Mario Kart.
