So who thinks this would be a good idea? I would sign up for it in a heart beat. $50 a year for unlimited shipping from RSC would be great. If i place a large order, with full sets (which is what i usually do when I order from RSC) the shipping is always around $20. I would bennefit from a shipping deal as would most of the board.

I rarely order from there and think i would even do this. It might even get me to order more things and times. It sounds like a great idea but idk if it would work out from RSC benefit.

As I just said on the Valentine's sale thread. I too would buy pretty much everything from RSC if that were available. The flat rate shipping cost for a year would be much cheaper than the gas wasted searching for figs around the city, and I'm just not into the thrill of the hunt.
I've passed on a LOT of big spending on RSC just because the shipping costs offset it for me too much.

I'd probably go for it. For example, just say you buy a DM figure that is $23. It's about $12-$13 for shipping. A few of those can be picked up from K-Mart. Mattel, etc. and he prices are equal or a lot of times even lower plus the shipping is only $5-$6. If they had the 550 unlimited shipping I'd buy from there more frequently which would more than make up for the difference in free shipping.

Sorry to say this would NEVER happen. Do you guys know what it cost to ship these days? It aint pretty and RSC doesn't control the United States Postal Service. IF they ever did a flat rate for shipping it would probably be $100.
The smater move would be RSC Rewards program where you get $1 per item. That way RSC wouldn't lose that much, and frequent customers would gain more. For example if you order a complete Elite series (6 figures) RSC gets $119 for the set & you $6 added to your account ($1 per figure).

They could do it. It sounds like there's some good support for it.

What I don't get is that a lot of their prices are higher than other places to begin with and then on top of that they charge a lot for shipping, at least if you only get a thing or 2. i think after you get 4-5 or more items it pretty much evens out but $12-$13 on an already overpriced figure is weird to me.

Guys, don't derail this thread into RC bashing. If we can show there's support for this plan without insulting the owners, then maybe they will consider it.

Wait, why would they do this again?
Big Retail stores can offer free shipping like Amazon, Target, Walmart, etc. because they sell more than just action figures.
RSC's prices are targeted to customers that have money to spend and don't care about waiting for retail.
Don't get me wrong, I would love it if RSC has some type of rewards program but obviously they are doing fine as a business because they have been doing it for a while.

A rewards program described by PWSPhil would be much more realistic. I know other similar online stores for other toylines do this very thing. More purchases you make, more credit you build and you could eventually cash it in for something on the site - RSC still receives all your business, and you get something "free" for being a loyal customer. Simple stuff really.

How much do you think you spend on shipping from RC in one year? Does it exceed $100? If you didn't have to pay for shipping with every order, do you think you would buy more? I know I would.

I don't see how this would benefit RSC. They make their profit from the dollars above the suggested price and on shipping and "HANDLING." That is how most retail internet and infomercial companies make their money...handling your purchases. Offering a flat rate on S&H puts a cap on a big portion of their profits. They would have to raise their prices even more to compensate the lose and pay their employees with monopoly money.

In theory, free shipping causes the consumer to order MORE. More orders means more money. More orders means less surplus stock. More orders means RSC can order more product and sell more product and make more money.
