We can all dream, but this would NEVER happen (especially for just $50) considering the state of shipping today.

If you're buying from RSC in the first place, you're willing to spend silly money on figures compared to retail prices. If the $50 price tag on a $15 figure isn't going to put you off, the shipping isn't either. They know this. It's all part of the business model.
My Andre The Giant cost $9 shipping from MattyCollector. I just took a look on RSC's Ebay store, and they want $43 to ship Ricky Steamboat to my house, on top of the $22 that figure costs. That's almost a $35 difference in the shipping charges. RSC know what they're doing with this. An online store aimed exclusively at collectors is all about squeezing every last cent out of people who want things first and don't want to risk not finding them in stores.

My shipping from RSC is usually $10 - $12. I actually think that's reasonable. Shipping has never kept me from buying unless it's from some whacked out guy on Ebay. I'm much more concerned about the 4 x retail mark up on some new figures.

On the other hand, with this pre-paid shipping program, RSC gets everybody's money up front and that's more cash in their pocket immediately. You may not even order a thing all year and they already have your money.
$50 is probably unlikely, but Amazon charges $70, so somewhere around there seems possible. And obviously this would only be for the 48 continental states.

I've ordered 1 time from RSC, and two days after placing the order, I found the characters at TRU...I paid about 20 bucks over what I needed to for the figs. BECAUSE of shipping, mostly. I'm willing to spend a bit more per fig on RSC if they had this pre-paid shipping plan. I wouldn't pay 40 bucks per fig, or anything as they charge for some...but 2-5 bucks more, I'm alright with... I understand they make their money on S&H, but I would order thousands of dollars in figs from them a yr if they instilled this program, instead of chasing the figs down...so I really think it's something they should weigh ultimately.

This would also increase their sales b/c people would feel more obligated to order from them to get their money worth of shipping.

This idea makes no sense. agreed... with how some people on here talk,, they are out multiple times a week looking for figures... how much gas or bus fare are you wasting looking for stuff? how often do you come home empty handed? pay a little more for shipping , and a mark up on the figure.. it will even it out.. yes the excitement of the hunt is cool.. the thrill of finding that figure you have been looking for , for weeks is amazing.. but sometimes you just need to bite the bullet and spend a few damn dollars to get what you want...

I live in the 2nd largest city in the state, and about once a month I'll get in the vehicle and hit every Walmart, Meijer, Target, KMart, TRU and Kohls in the city. That's something like 6 Walmarts, 4 Meijers, 3 Targets, 2 Kmarts, a TRU and 2 Kohls. So yes, on the off day i come home with NOTHING, it was expensive, and I agree to an extent, paying above the line seems fair in the long run...but it is killer when I experience that moment when I spend so much online just to find them in the store the next time I'm out.

And how much money would RSC lose on that? You guys just expect them to eat all that. They too are a customer of USPS & UPS which set the rates that RSC have to charge to ship with them.

And again, the example I posted earlier in another topic: 1 Andre + shipping via MattyCollector: USD 29,95 1 Andre + shipping via RSC: USD 65,49 (choosing the cheapest way of shipping) A difference of USD 35,- ![>:(](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/angry.gif)

Ringside has to make money to pay for employees, their overhead, etc. The shipping charges are pretty much what it costs them to ship figures out. They are not making money on shipping. The $50 a year shipping would be great for some of us who buy a lot but I don't think it is realistic.

I'd be happy if they could drop their international shipping rates. 34 bucks for 1 figure...

A 5 pound package from one of those businesses is alot cheaper than one from RSC, because the carriers are getting much more busniess from them then they are from RSC. So they charge RSC higher shipping rates to pick up their shipments because they are getting less volume from RSC than they would from a world wide company like Mattel.

I know you have a point, but why is it that they charge me USD 35,- to USD 45,- on shipping for just ONE figure (depending on the shipping method), and when I buy a bulk of MOC (approx. 10) figures from other members on here (from the US), shipping is somewhere between USD 40,- and USD 50,- only (including a tracking number)? This is what I want to know! The surplus in shipping costs can not only be explained by an additional carrier service....

Also, that $50 going out of my bank account for "future" shipping would kinda suck in the short term. You know?

In my opinion, this idea warrants some insight rather than saying it would be ineffective. RSC would have to conduct some research on users buying patterns but I am sure they could figure something out.
For example, what if it was US$75 per year on all single figures domestic orders up to 5 figures per order. Not including cases. Or an additional US$X.XX for cases. The idea at the very least warrants investigation no matter how big or small your business is.
