WWE RAW Supershow: Monday 9th January 2012...Michael McGillicutty beating Yoshi Tatsu was fair. Jack Swagger with a win against Mason Ryan was nothing special either. Opening promo was a solid one, nice follow-up after Triple H suspended John Cena last week. Interesting speech, and I liked Air Boom interrupting John Laurinaitis. Great origins of the People Power saga, interesting decision for Air Boom to face John Laurinaitis and David Otunga next week. Wondering where this is headed. Zack Ryder beating John Morrison was a decent WWE United States Championship defense, I'm liking Morrison transform into a cocky heel again. Brodus Clay with another win was good against JTG. I am interested in the Miz and Mick Foley stuff definitely. Hopefully Miz doesn't take a trip down loser lane like he did around this time. CM Punk beating Dolph Ziggler was a great first-hour main event, and I liked the aftermath. Wow, Punk facing Christian with Edge as the special referee? I see Edge turning heel, and perhaps making a comeback to face Punk, although I'm not sure if I'd morally like that after Edge's retirement angle last year. Alberto Del Rio's promo on Rob Van Dam was pretty sweet, it's advancing the mens' entry into the Royal Rumble match in any event. Natalya beating Tamina was nothing special. Beth Phoenix facing Natalya at Royal Rumble sounds fair in any event. Mick Foley closing the show with a brawl with the Miz was very dramatic, I liked it. Overall, strange show structure in my mind. I'd have had Punk and Ziggler close the match match-wise, followed by the Foley and Miz brawl. But very impactful show in any event. Not so sure about Hunter not showing up however.
WWE Friday Night SmackDown: Friday 13th January 2012...Tyson Kidd turned face? Great. Good win against the mediocre Jinder Mahal, and a decent win for Hunico against Justin Gabriel. Good promo to kick off the show with Chris Jericho in a return promo, that I probably would've put on RAW. Either way, great set up with Theodore Long, a match with Sheamus sounds very interesting. Sin Cara beating Heath Slater accomplished the job it intended to accomplish. Johnny Curtis! Good to see him. Daniel Bryan and Johnny Curtis was a nice segment to make Curtis noticed, but Bryan just ran through him. Decent promo from Cody Rhodes, looking forward to the match with Kane, although the chemistry in that match surely will be strange to say the least. Dean Ambrose beating Ted Dibiase advanced Ambrose's character. Wonder who he will first feud with. Hopefully he plays the endurance challenge and sticks in the Royal Rumble match for a long time. Epic beating Jimmy Uso was fine, nothing much to say here. And lastly, great main event win for Sheamus against Chris Jericho, but wow I wasn't expecting Drew McIntyre, or Randy Orton for that matter, to appear. I'm confused on where Wade Barrett disappeared to though.
WWE RAW Supershow: Monday 16th January 2012...Santino Marella beating JTG was fine, not a lot to comment on. And Alex Riley beating Michael McGillicutty was a decent match to qualify Riley into the Royal Rumble. Fair edition of Superstars. The Miz's promo was pretty good to kick off the show, additions to the feud with Mick Foley. But I don't think it was worth opening the show, it didn't do too much and seems like something that could have been done in a backstage interview. I did like John Laurinaitis and Christian's promo though, amusing. At this point, I'm a little bored of seeing Zack Ryder face John Morrison. I suppose it's just building for the Royal Rumble. Beth Phoenix beating Kelly Kelly didn't do too much for me. John Laurinaitis and David Otunga beating Air Boom, wow. I didn't see Evan Bourne turning heel on Kofi Kingston whatsoever. I thought they were done with their dissension. Brodus Clay beating Curt Hawkins was a fair addition. Please don't tell me you have no plans for Hawkins, so much potential. John Cena's promo was good, interested in what happens when Cena returns and Triple H is there. I hope we don't get Cena facing Triple H at WrestleMania XXVIII though. Dolph Ziggler beating Rob Van Dam was a great match, probably would've been better with more air-time though, good win for Ziggler against RVD though, that was very surprising. I did like Alberto Del Rio's interference though. Christian kicking off the final promo was great, and I loved the transaction between Edge, CM Punk and Christian, would've worked with a miscommunication between the three though, say Christian argues with Edge, gets in a fight, CM Punk gets involved, Edge accidentally makes Punk eat a Spear. Something anyhow. Good show though, these promo-ending RAWs are getting a slight bit overkill at this point though.
WWE Friday Night SmackDown: Friday 20th January 2012...Hunico beating Yoshi Tatsu was decent. Jinder Mahal beating Ezekiel Jackson to qualify for the Royal Rumble is a bit meh though. Every episode of Superstars is starting to look the same and it's getting boring at this point really. Switch it up more! Mark Henry's promo was pretty good, wow, looking forward to this match at the Royal Rumble inside a Steel-Cage though. I see Bryan somehow slying out victorious. Sin Cara beating Heath Slater again? Nothing special. Dean Ambrose's promo was great, but Ambrose with Johnny Curtis? Curtis is a great talent, but it's a terrible idea for those two to be paired up. They're nothing alike. Ah, here's Wade Barrett. Good win for Kane despite Cody Rhodes' involvement. Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd! Good team choice. Nice win against Primo and Epico too. I can't see them losing the WWE Tag Team Championships just yet though. Why isn't Hunico paired with them anymore? Shame. Natalya beating Tamina in a rematch from the other week, not so interested. I suppose it's an interesting storyline headed into the Royal Rumble match. Submission match for the WWE Divas Championship, great idea. Randy Orton and Sheamus beating Chris Jericho and...Drew McIntyre? LOL. I'm sorry, I cannot take McIntyre seriously on this level all of a sudden. But nonetheless, a solid main event to further build the Royal Rumble. Not a bad show, just general build.

RAW Supershow | January 23rd, 2012 | Phoenix, AZ
WWE Superstars 1/26 Taping Results Kelly Kelly and Eve def. The Bella Twins Santino Marella and Mason Ryan def. Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks in a Royal Rumble Qualifying Match
After the intro and pyrotechnics display, Michael Cole and Jerry "The King" Lawler welcomed everyone to Monday Night RAW as we are on the final stop before the Royal Rumble this Sunday. Tonight, four men who are viewed as Rumble favorites collide as Rob Van Dam, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, and the man who will enter at #30, The Miz look to gain the upperhand heading into Sunday's huge event. Plus, we saw on SmackDown last Friday the challenge that was layed out by Natalya to upgrade Sunday's Divas Championship bout to a Submission Match. Will Beth Phoenix accept? All this and much more on the final edition of RAW before the Road to WrestleMania begins.
The red-hot audience here in Phoenix were transitioning to boos as the Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and RAW General Manager, John Laurinaitis made his way down to the ring along with David Otunga. After introducing himself, Laurinaitis said that this past week has been one that will forever live in the history of People Power. And it's all thanks to one man in particular. "Ladies and gentlemen, Evan Bourne!" Bourne made his way out to the stage to a huge amount of heat, not caring much for the reception. Sporting a "People Power" shirt, Bourne shook both Otunga and Laurinaitis' hands before grabbing a microphone. As the audience chanted "You sold out!" he reaffirmed their statement, claiming that he will be selling out arenas all over the world thanks to People Power. And he'll be doing it without all of the dead weight known as Kofi Kingston. Laurinaitis said that while it's already been made official that Bourne will be participating in the Royal Rumble match this Sunday, he will also be adding David Otunga to that list of names. With two men in the Rumble representing People Power, things are looking up for the future of not only Monday Night RAW, but the WWE as a whole. Feeling that this moment needed to be cherished, Laurinaitis asked for a group picture. As the three of them posed for the camera, the theme of CM Punk hit as the audience erupted. The WWE Champion made his way down to the ring, much to the dismay of the Laurinaitis, Bourne, and Otunga. Punk told the GM and his legal adviser to step the side because he's not here to deal with them. He wants to have a little chat with Bourne. Punk said that he's seen Evan climb the ranks of professional wrestling for years now, and is truly disgusted with the path he's chosen. "I've done a lot of terrible things in my career. Some I regret, most I don't. But I never became a sell-out like you have." After a pop from the crowd, Bourne said "And look where that's going to get you. You're going to be screwed out of that WWE Championship by one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history this Sunday." Punk said that he'll deal with Christian, and especially Edge, when the time comes at the Royal Rumble. Right now, he wants to deal with him. Laurinaitis interrupted, stating that he just had another great idea. Tonight, WWE Champion CM Punk will go one on one with Evan Bourne. The audience seemed to like the idea as Bourne said that he can't wait for it. "Like I said, I'll deal with you tonight, Evan. Johnny, I make your life hell on a weekly bases. So I'm going to do something a bit different right now." Immediately after Punk said that, he hoisted David Otunga to his shoulders and Laurinaitis and Bourne quickly exited the ring. Punk hit Otunga with the GTS as he looked on at Bourne and Laurinaitis, sending a message to People Power, Christian, and Edge.
BREAK
Returning from the commercial break, a recap of the opening segment with WWE Champion CM Punk and People Power was shown as Michael Cole confirmed a huge match tonight pitting Punk against Evan Bourne. With just six days before potentially facing a screwjob, is Punk's head eve in the right state of mind to compete against this new attitude of Evan Bourne?
Zack Ryder def. John Morrison in a Falls Count Anywhere Match (Still United States Champion) After weeks of tension, this rivalry would finally be settled in a Falls Count Anywhere match with the United States Championship. While the stipulation looked to benefit the challenger, Ryder was able to hold his own and make it his match just as match as Morrison. As the two brawled on the stage, Ryder attempted the Rough Ryder, but Morrison was able to duck it as Ryder was able to grab onto the WWE logo. He kicked Morrison when charging at him, giving him time to position himself on the logo. When Morrison turned around, Ryder leaped off of the WWE logo, catching the challenger with a huge Rough Ryder to pick up the victory.
Ryder slowly stirred to his feet as he was handed the United States Championship, raising it high to symbolize the end of this rivalry. Long Island Iced Z fist pumped with the Arizona audience, picking up a huge amount of momentum as he heads into the Royal Rumble match this Sunday.
Backstage, John Laurinaitis and Evan Bourne were shown, the GM still praising him for his actions last week. Bourne said that while he has been having a good week, there is one more thing he would like. And he's not talking about the WWE Championship because everyone knows that will come after he wins the Royal Rumble. Being the first superstar to endorse People Power, that creates envy in the locker room. Bourne told Laurinaitis that he's not safe around here, which is why he needs protection. "Well there's David," said Laurinaitis. "I've seen Otunga fight. That's not going to work out for me," stated Evan. Laurinaitis assured him that he will begin searching for a bodyguard. Around that time, David Otunga rushed into the office. He told Laurinaitis of huge news that he was just informed of. Triple H is on his way to the arena. Laurinaitis asked why Hunter would be coming, though Otunga claimed he had no clue.
BREAK
Returning to Monday Night RAW, Michael Cole confirmed that information that was revealed prior to the commercial break. COO Triple H is indeed on his way to the arena here in Phoenix. As for why, nobody seems to know. But we can assume that it will have something to do with John Cena's suspension as Cena stated last week that he may not wait until his suspension is over next Monday to step into a WWE ring.
Brodus Clay def. Heath Slater After qualifying for the Royal Rumble on Saturday Night's Main Event, the Funkasaurus was looking to continue his roll of dominance. Slater was still showing the effects of the Chokeslam he took through the announce table at the hands of Kane, though a healthy Slater may not have mattered anyways as Brodus was able to quickly squash him with the Running Splash to get the victory.
Backstage, WWE Champion CM Punk was shown in his locker room when Josh Mathews walked in, asking the champ for his thoughts on his match Evan Bourne up next? Punk stated that this is a match he's looking forward to because it will give him an opportunity to knock some sense back into a man he once considered to be a friend. One match that he's not looking forward to very much is the championship match Sunday against Christian. "What is it that Edge's entrance music always said? 'You think you know me?' Well I do know Edge, and I know that he was lying through his teeth last week. His only goal at the Royal Rumble is to screw me over and hand this title to Christian. What I want Edge to realize is that once he accomplishes his goal, all respect me or anyone else had for him is as good as gone." Punk draped the WWE Championship over his shoulder before leaving the room. He meets Evan Bourne one on one, next.
BREAK
A promo was shown for this Friday's edition of SmackDown. Just 48 hours before the Royal Rumble, fireworks will be set off as the champions meet the challengers. Christian and Cody Rhodes team up to battle World Heavyweight Champion Kane and the WWE Champion, CM Punk. It happens this Friday, only on SyFy.
WWE Champion CM Punk def. Evan Bourne via DQ A very exciting bout to round out the first hour of RAW. As Bourne was going for Airbourne, Punk managed to move out of the way as he landed on his feet. Punk went for a clothesline, but Bourne ducked it and hopped onto the top rope. He came down with a crossbody, with Punk delivered a dropkick in mid-air. Punk locked in the Anaconda Vice, pulling with great force as he was hoping to make the "People Power" Evan submit. However, the theme of Edge hit as Punk immediately released the hold. He stared up at the stage, expecting the Rated R Superstar to make his entrance. Instead, Punk turned around and was hit with a Spear from Christian.
The bell sounded as Justin Roberts announced CM Punk as the winner via disqualification. That didn't matter as Christian grabbed the WWE Championship from ringside, taking it with him into the ring. It was pointed out that Christian was wearing an Edge shirt as he raised the championship high over CM Punk's motionless body, symbolizing what Punk has been claiming. This Sunday, he's not facing Christian. He's facing Christian AND the special guest referee, Edge. Christian placed the WWE Championship on the mat before leaving as the commentators asked the question on everyone's mind. Will Edge call the match down the middle, or are we guaranteed a new WWE Champion in Captain Charisma?
BREAK
Returning to RAW, United States Champion Zack Ryder was shown leaving the arena, ecstatic about having retained his title as he heads into the Royal Rumble. He was stopped by John Laurinaitis, who told Ryder that he's been doing a great job as the US Champion. In fact, he's been doing such a great job, a reward is in order. "Sweet, bro. What do I get?" asked Ryder. Laurinaitis told Ryder that he's going to give him something he can give nobody else. Everyone likes to believe that they're #1, so that's what he's going to make Ryder. "You will enter the Royal Rumble match this Sunday as the #1 entrant." "Are you serious, bro?" shouted Ryder angrily as Laurinaitis headed back to his office.
Randy Orton def. Jinder Mahal With his rivalry with Chris Jericho finally wrapped up, Randy Orton is now able to focus on the Royal Rumble this Sunday in his hometown of St. Louis. To make sure he has the momentum heading into Sunday, the Viper was able to put Jinder Mahal away with an RKO to grab the victory.
As Orton celebrated his victory, Cole and Lawler commented on how if Orton were able to win the Royal Rumble on Sunday, he would be the 4th superstar in WWE history to win multiple Rumble matches. This took us to the "By the numbers" video package, going over the statistics of the Royal Rumble Match as "Warrior's Call" by Volbeat played in the background.
BREAK
Returning to RAW, the theme of Natalya hit as she made her way down to the ring. Last Friday on SmackDown, the daughter of the Anvil layed the challenge out to Divas Champion Beth Phoenix to make their Divas Championship match at the Royal Rumble a Submission Match. She immediately called Beth out, wanting an answer right now. The reigning Divas Champion made her way out to ring, grabbing a microphone before meeting Natalya face to face. Beth said that she's be lying if she said that the "You tapped out" chants haven't gotten to her. The chant broke out again as Beth stared angrily at the audience. Natalya doesn't know the humiliation that comes with tapping out, which is why she wants nothing more than for her to realize that humiliation. Therefore, she gladly accepts the Submission Match at the Royal Rumble. The audience popped as Natalya smiled, telling Beth that she'll see her Sunday. The Divas Champion stopped her, letting her know that she has been studying the greats of Submission holds. Chris Jericho, William Regal, and even her Uncle, Bret Hart. She's perfecting the craft of submission maneuvers, and Natalya will regret ever issuing this challenge. Natalya didn't care to hear Beth finish her statement as she grabbed her legs, pulling her down to the mat. She attempted to lock in the Sharpshooter, but Beth was able to escape. The Divas Champion grabbed her title as she made her way up the entrance ramp, clutching it to her chest as she and Natalya stared at one another.
Cameras were shown in the parking lot, awaiting the arrival of COO Triple H. It would appear that the Game isn't here yet, though we still don't know why he will be arriving.
BREAK
Returning from the break, Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler were discussing the Royal Rumble this Sunday, Lawler still poking fun at Cole for being crushed by Brodus Clay at Saturday Night's Main Event. "It doesn't matter. Brodus isn't winning," sated Cole as Lawler asked who would be winning then. Cole asked Lawler the same question, to which the King replied with Randy Orton. He believes that the Viper has enough momentum, and with the Rumble being in his hometown, he's going with Orton. Cole stated that he has two picks for the Rumble match, which irritated Lawler as he claimed you can only have one pick. "Well I have two, so deal with it." When Lawler asked who the first one was, the theme of The Miz hit. "This man. The man who will enter at #30, the Awesome One, The Miz!" said Cole ecstatically.
The Miz w/ R-Truth def. Rob Van Dam, Alberto Del Rio, and Dolph Ziggler Four men who are viewed as favorites in the Royal Rumble match went at it, hoping to gain that last bit of momentum before Sunday. As Del Rio had Ziggler in the Cross Armbreaker, Van Dam caught the Mexican Aristocrat by surprise with a Five Star Frog Splash. Before Van Dam could get the cover, Miz grabbed him and tossed him out of the ring, covering Del Rio himself to pick up the victory.
Miz raised his arms in victory following the match, the #30 entrant looking incredibly strong heading into Sunday. R-Truth joined him in the ring, raising his arm. Miz grabbed Truth and tossed him out of the ring, proving the "Every man for himself" factor that the Rumble is known for. With a huge amount of momentum and the #30 entry number, will the Royal Rumble on Sunday be "Awesome?"
Cutting to the parking lot area, a limo was shown pulling up as Triple H exited it. The COO is finally here, but for what exactly?
BREAK
A promo was shown for the Royal Rumble, live this Sunday, only on Pay-Per-View.
Returning to the arena, a special thanks was given to Volbeat for "Warrior's Call," the official theme song for the Royal Rumble. Cole and Lawler quickly ran down the card for the event. Because of their non-title victory last Friday on SmackDown, Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd will battle Hunico and Epico for the WWE Tag Team Championships on the YouTube Pre-Show. For the World Heavyweight Championship, Kane will defend against Cody Rhodes. It's been made clear that Kane is looking to hurt Cody, but can Rhodes overcome the Big Red Monster and be named the new World Champion? As we learned earlier, Beth Phoenix and Natalya's bout for the Divas Championship is now a Submission Match. After months of tension, Daniel Bryan and Mark Henry finally meet one on one in the confines of a Steel Cage. The last time they met in that environment, the World's Strongest Man ripped Bryan to shreds. Will history repeat itself, or can Bryan pull off the upset? The WWE Championship is on the line as CM Punk defends against Christian with Edge as the special guest referee. Is Edge going to call the match down the middle, or will we see one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history screw Punk out of the most prized possession in sports entertainment? And finally, the Royal Rumble Match. 30 men will enter, but only one will stand tall with a first class ticket to the main event of WrestleMania XXVIII. The Royal Rumble is live this Sunday, on Pay-Per-View.
At this time, the theme of Triple H hit as the COO made his way down to the ring. The last time we saw the Game, he was struck by John Cena, leading to Cena's suspension. Hunter quickly grabbed a microphone, saying that he doesn't want to waste anytime because if it were up to him, he wouldn't be here. Over the course of this weekend, several "cryptic" letters were sent to WWE Headquarters. Things like "I'll be there, Hunter" and "Expect me." He doesn't know who sent those, but he's here and he expects them to be here as well. So whoever wants him, they've got him and he wants them to come to the ring right now. "I know it's you, Cena. You want to defy my orders, that's fine. I'll just kick your ass." Seconds passed as nobody came out. "It's Kevin, isn't it. I thought I took your crippled ass out weeks ago, but I don't mind taking a sledgehammer to your thick skull again." More seconds passed, more silence. "I'm sick of this! Whoever the hell wanted me here, you've got me. Now grow a set and show yoursel..." GONG. The audience went berserk as the lights shut. Smoke filled the stage as a familiar theme hit. Seconds later, The Undertaker marched out onto the stage. Triple H could be shown with a blank expression on his face as he looked on at the Deadman. Undertaker slowly made his way down to the ring before meeting the Game face to face for the first time since their encounter last year at WrestleMania XXVII. The two stared at one another for quite some time before Triple H began to slowly back away. He exited the ring, hurrying up the stage as 'Taker looked on at him. Triple H stopped on the stage to look back at him, nodding his head "No." The Undertaker is back, but what did he want with Triple H?

WWE Saturday Night's Main Event: Saturday 21st January 2012...OK, now if I'm honest, I didn't quite see the need for another TV special following the big New Year's RAW and the live Super SmackDown the day after earlier this month, and with the Royal Rumble a week away especially. But nonetheless, it's always nice to see SNME pop up one more time. Hopefully you don't plan on overdoing these specials though. Up first, very enjoyable opening tag team contest to combine multiple angles and storylines into one match. CM Punk and Daniel Bryan teaming especially, I do hope they wind up opposing one another later on in the year, it'd be really entertaining to see the link thicken. The right man won, Punk needs as much momentum as possible. Michael Cole? Hahahah, I liked that segment, John Laurinaitis giving Cole a qualifying match for the Rumble tonight. Hmm, Evan Bourne promo? It's nice to see him getting more air-time, but I'm not sure I could sit through one of his promos, he's not that grand on the microphone. Either way, it achieved the job it was intended to fulfill, and further the feud with himself and Kofi Kingston. Pretty good positioning with the #30 spot on the line in the battle royal, and it's always fun to see a heel gain the #30 position. Although I can't see the Miz winning the Rumble, it'll surely be fun to see nonetheless. Kane with a win over Heath Slater was ideal, not a lot to add there. Hahaha! Loved Brodus Clay beating Cole, very realistic scenario, although I doubt Brodus will win the Rumble. It's great because I'm actually wondering who the winner of the Rumble will be, there's various options to choose. And lastly, not a bad idea to main event with Randy Orton and Chris Jericho. It capitalized their long-term rivalry, although I really hope this isn't it for them. You could easily get a good buyrate out of this feud climaxing in a major fashion. Long story short, enjoyable TV special, it accomplished everything it intended to, and I'm looking more forward to reading the Royal Rumble.
WWE RAW Supershow: Monday 23rd January 2012...Kelly Kelly and Eve beating the Bella Twins is pretty typical. Santino Marella and Mason Ryan? Oddball team, but I suppose them qualifying for the Royal Rumble match isn't a crime, especially over Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins. Up next, good promo from John Laurinaitis with Evan Bourne. Also liked the inclusion with CM Punk, their feud is quite an enjoyable one. Punk laying out David Otunga was a nice decision. Zack Ryder beating John Morrison again, hopefully this is it for them! Nice to see the Falls Count Anywhere stipulation make a return, and that finish sounded pretty fun. Brodus Clay beating Heath Slater was cool, another addition to the momentum streak built for Brodus. CM Punk and Evan Bourne in a first-hour main event; fantastic. Both stars have realistically been set up well for this, nice work. I did expect Christian to get involved though, and I liked Christian's further taunting of Punk. I still can't see Punk losing the WWE Championship though, I see him carrying it either into WrestleMania XXVIII or after. Ryder positioned as #1, man that's not good for Ryder. Laurinaitis making more enemies is always great, though. Randy Orton with a win against Jinder Mahal was fine, nothing too special here. I didn't see a promo with Natalya happening, but it all connected well with the feud with Beth Phoenix. I like how big this WWE Divas Championship match is beginning to look. Up next, a good fatal four-way preview match for the Royal Rumble, and I was surprised yet glad that the Miz got the win over Rob Van Dam, Dolph Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio. Confidence for Miz. Wheeeey, Triple H is here. I love this scenario where he's being stalked by an unknown character, it induces the paranoia, and I liked him suspecting John Cena and Kevin Nash. Ahhhh, the Undertaker strikes again. I should have known! I am looking quite forward to seeing how you handle this feud. Overall, a great show, it rounded off all of the edges going into Sunday's Royal Rumble.

Friday Night SmackDown! | January 27th, 2012 | Tuscon, AZ
WWE Superstars 1/26 Taping Results Kaitlyn def. Maxine Ted DiBiase def. Heath Slater
After the signature WWE intro, we cut directly to the arena here in Tuscon as "Voices" hit, followed by a huge ovation from the audience. Randy Orton made his way out to the stage, noticeably in a better mood after having finally put his rivalry with Chris Jericho behind him last week on Saturday Night's Main Event. The Viper grabbed a microphone as the "RKO" chants rang throughout the atmosphere. Orton said that with Chris Jericho and 15 months of animosity finally behind, he can now focus on once again becoming a champion. And the first step towards reclaiming his spot at the top of SmackDown comes Sunday when he walks into his hometown of St. Louis and does something that only legends such as Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, and Stone Cold Steve Austin have done. He will become the 4th superstar in WWE history to win multiple Royal Rumble matches. And unlike the last time he came out of one victorious, he will seize the moment at WrestleMania and become World Heavyweight or WWE Champion. Before Orton could continue, he was interrupted by the arrival of Chris Jericho. "If you thought we were done, you're sadly mistaken, Orton," said Jericho. He may have won the battle at Saturday Night's Main Event, but the war is not over until this Sunday. It's not over until he tosses Orton over the top rope, thus nullifying every statement that he just made. And from there, he will win the Royal Rumble match. "I came back for two reasons, Orton. The first being to extract my revenge on you. The second is to once again become champion, which will happen at WrestleMania." Orton told Jericho that if he still wants to be humiliated, he'll gladly do so once again at the Royal Rumble and any time after. Jericho said that he won't be humiliated again. This time, it's Orton who will suffer the ultimate humiliation when he eliminates him from the Rumble match in front of his friends and family. And the man who is the best in the world at what he does will prevail over the 29 parasites that stand in his way to once again become champion on the grandest stage of them all. Jericho exited the ring, making sure Orton knew that their rivalry is far from over, and will escalate this Sunday as the two participate in the Royal Rumble match.
A graphic was shown for tonight's main event. Christian and Cody Rhodes team up to take on their Royal Rumble opponents, World Heavyweight Champion Kane and the WWE Champion, CM Punk.
BREAK
Returning from the commercial break, Michael Cole, Josh Mathews, and Booker T formally welcomed everyone to Friday Night SmackDown. We are just 48 hours before the Royal Rumble, and things are bound to get out of hand tonight. Cole said that he just received word during the commercial break that tonight's tag team main event will now be a Lumberjack Match, featuring participants in the Royal Rumble match. But first up tonight, the Intercontinental Championship is on the line.
Sheamus def. Drew McIntyre (Still Intercontinental Champion) After weeks of vying for his shot, McIntyre finally received it tonight. Just like RAW's United States Championship bout, this was a very solid way to kick off SmackDown. As Sheamus charged towards McIntyre in a corner, Drew was able to move out of harm's way as the defending champion rammed himself. When McIntyre was going for a clothesline, Sheamus caught him with a Brogue Kick out of nowhere to pick up the victory.
The audience stood to their feet as Sheamus was handed the Intercontinental Championship raising it high in the air in celebration. The Great White now heads into the Royal Rumble with his championship intact, a huge dose of momentum, and in the views of some, the odds on favorite to win it all.
Cutting backstage, Christian was shown as a worker was making a WWE Championship nameplate for him. Scott Stanford approached him, asking what he was doing. "What does it look like I'm doing? I'm getting my nameplate ready for Sunday." When Stanford told Christian that we don't even know if he'll become WWE Champion, Christian said that it's pretty much a guarantee at this point. Sure, Edge may have said last week on RAW that he will be a fair referee. But after what CM Punk did to him, he doesn't think Edge will allow "Mr. Pipebomb" to walk out of the Royal Rumble with the WWE Championship.
BREAK
Dean Ambrose def. Mason Ryan For weeks now, Dean Ambrose has rambled on about the Royal Rumble. He's managed to remain undefeated, and made an example out of Johnny Curtis last week. In his final bout before what he described as "the moment every breathing second has led up to," Ambrose was able to catch Mason Ryan with a vicious Knee Trembler to get the victory.
Ambrose quickly raised his arm in victory before heading to ringside to grab a microphone. "If you people are still unsure of who to place your bets on for the Royal Rumble, open your freakin' eyes! Bet you money, car, house, and your kids on Dean Ambrose because I've said it before and I'll say it one more time for the deaf. I WILL win the Royal Rumble and I WILL become champion at WrestleMania." Ambrose made his way up the ramp as he prepares to head into his toughest challenge to date - the Royal Rumble match.
Backstage, Daniel Bryan was shown in his locker room on his cell phone once again. "AJ, I'm not going to tell you this again. You're not going to be at the Royal Rumble. Stay home and focus on your recovery because I won't allow Mark Henry to put his hands on you again." Bryan hung up before grabbing his Money In The Bank briefcase as he headed for the door. He meets Wade Barrett next.
BREAK
At this time, the RAW Rebound was shown. Throughout the show, reports began surfacing that WWE COO Triple H was on his way to the arena. Though nobody knew why, the Game did arrive. After numerous cryptic letters were sent to WWE Headquarters, Hunter was ready to meet his unknown adversary. Soon, the lights shut as a loud gong blared, meaning only one thing. The Undertaker made his return, marching down to the ring to meet his WrestleMania XXVII opponent face to face. Triple H backed away, hurrying up the ramp as he nodded "No" to the Deadman.
Wade Barrett def. Daniel Bryan A solid way to wrap up the first hour here on SmackDown. Two former NXT rookies, now established WWE superstars, battling it out for a huge momentum boost heading into their matches Sunday at the Royal Rumble. As Bryan was climbing onto the top rope, the theme of Mark Henry hit as the World's Strongest Man stepped out to the stage. This allowed Barrett to pull Bryan off of the top turnbuckle, planting him with Wasteland to get the victory.
Barrett raised his arms in the air, punching the air as he heads into Sunday's Royal Rumble with a bit more momentum due to this victory. As Wade was leaving, Mark Henry grabbed a steel chair. He nailed Bryan in the back with it before repeatedly striking him with it as he was motionless on the ground. Just like last week's briefcase shot, nothing could be done as their is no true physical contact between the two. Henry grabbed a microphone before taking a seat in the chair. He told Bryan that he couldn't help but overhear at Saturday Night's Main Event and just a few moments ago his conversations with AJ. If AJ wants to be there on Sunday, let her. He won't lay a hand on her puny neck because he's already done so. He wants AJ to be there at ringside to watch her boyfriend's career and WrestleMania dreams be crushed and displayed front and center in the Hall of Pain. Henry threw the microphone down, leaving the ring as several referees came to the aid of the fallen Daniel Bryan.
A graphic was shown for tonight's main event. Christian and Cody Rhodes team up to take on World Heavyweight Champion Kane, and WWE Champion CM Punk. And as we learned earlier tonight, this match will now be a Lumberjack Match featuring several participants in Sunday's Royal Rumble match.
BREAK
Returning to SmackDown, Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd were shown in the ring as Gabriel is ready to compete in singles action. As we learned on RAW, Gabriel and Kidd will receive a WWE Tag Team Championship match during the Royal Rumble YouTube pre-show on Sunday.
Justin Gabriel def. WWE Tag Team Champion Primo With Hunico and Epico being the ones scheduled to defend the gold on Sunday, Primo was sent into battle against the Capetown Werewolf. For Kidd and Gabriel, they were able to secure the momentum as Primo was put away with a 450 Splash.
Tyson Kidd joined Gabriel in the ring as the duo raised each other's arms, taunting the WWE Tag Team Champions in the process. Can Gabriel and Kidd seize the gold, or will the WWE Tag Team Titles remain around the waists of the Latino trio? They meet Sunday on the Royal Rumble YouTube pre-show.
Focusing on the commentary unit, Booker T and Josh Mathews continued to poke fun at Michael Cole for his failed attempt to qualify for the Royal Rumble last Saturday. Cole asked who they felt would win the Rumble match? Mathews stated that he would be agreeing with Jerry Lawler and is going with Randy Orton. "Orton's got a good chance, but I'm picking my boy Sheamus. He's the Intercontinental Champion, on a hell of a roll. The Great White is going to make the Royal Rumble his great achievement," said Booker. Cole said that on RAW, he stated that he had two picks. The first one was revealed as The Miz. And his second pick....Dean Ambrose. "What?!" shouted Booker. Cole said that he believes nobody in the Rumble match is ready for what Ambrose brings to the table. And if Ambrose were to win, it would be the fastest transition from debut to Royal Rumble victory in WWE history. This took us to the "By the numbers" video package, explaining some of the statistics of the Rumble match.
BREAK
Backstage, Christian was shown in his locker room, playing he and Edge's old theme song as he prepared for his match later on tonight. Soon, the music stopped as we saw Cody Rhodes turn off Christian's stereo. Rhodes told him that he understands the excitement that comes with having a championship match on Sunday, but he needs to focus on tonight because he won't allow Kane to head into their title match with momentum. "So? It's not like you're gonna beat Kane anyways," said Christian. "And what makes you think Edge is on your side? For all we know, his mind hasn't changed," responded Cody. Christian told Cody that he knows Edge, and knows that he isn't going to let someone who showed as little respect as CM Punk walk away with the WWE Championship. "Well I guess we'll have to wait until Sunday to see who's right," said Cody.
Sin Cara def. Johnny Curtis For Sin Cara, this was his final opportunity to keep the ball rolling as he heads into the Rumble match on Sunday. After being Dean Ambrose's guinea pig last week, Curtis was looking to redeem himself. Things went the way of the Mexican Sensation as Cara hit a Senton Bomb on Curtis, covering him to snatch the victory.
Sin Cara raised his arms in victory as he hopped onto the announce table, taking in the energy from the WWE Universe. Cara is viewed as one of the favorites in the Royal Rumble, but can he do it? Can he overcome the odds and capture the first class ticket to the main event of WrestleMania XXVIII?
Focusing back on the commentary unit, they quickly ran down the card for Sunday's Royal Rumble. For the World Heavyweight Championship, Cody Rhodes looks to capture the gold from the Big Red Monster, Kane. In what is now a Submission Match, Beth Phoenix and Natalya settle the score with the Divas Championship up for grabs. Daniel Bryan and Mark Henry will go at it once again in a Steel Cage match. CM Punk defends the WWE Championship against Christian with Edge as the special guest referee. And finally, the Royal Rumble match. 30 men will enter, but only one will seize the opportunity and go on to headline WrestleMania XXVIII.
A graphic was shown for the upcoming main event. In a Lumberjack Match, Christian and Cody Rhodes will battle World Heavyweight Champion Kane, and WWE Champion CM Punk. It's our main event next.
BREAK
A promo was shown for the Royal Rumble, live this Sunday, only on Pay-Per-View.
WWE Champion CM Punk and World Heavyweight Champion Kane vs. Christian and Cody Rhodes in a Lumberjack Match ended in a No Contest A fantastic, chaotic bout to send us into the Royal Rumble on Sunday. With the challengers and champions able to get their hands on each other, things got out of hand quick. Action spilled to the outside as Kane and Rhodes battled in the audience, Punk and Christian fighting up the ramp. With the Lumberjacks, Barrett and Sheamus began to argue over whether or not to let Punk and Christian fight or get them back in the ring. From there, the match was thrown out of the window.
As Punk and Christian brawled up the entrance ramp, Wade Barrett delivered a shove to Sheamus. The Intercontinental Champion delivered a swing, but caught Primo. Hunico and Epico went after Sheamus, leading to more of the Lumberjacks getting involved. All hell broke loose as the action spilled into the ring. Cody and Kane in the audience, Punk and Christian on the stage, and the Lumberjacks in the ring. The Royal Rumble participants filled the ring as they all went after one another, a preview of what will come Sunday when 30 men meet for one goal - headline WrestleMania.

Raw, a great way to open up with that segment, and I love how you're using Evan Bourne - it's genius. CM Punk versus Evan Bourne is a dream match for me with Bourne in a credible position and with an actual chance to win. Hopefully this is it for Zack Ryder and John Morrison, but a Falls Count Anywhere match to close it makes perfect sense, as there is no arguing who's the winner. Although I would have preferred Morrison to win, personally. Not a big Ryder fan. Brodus Clay over Heath Slater is obvious, hopefully Slater gets something to do soon, he's golden on the mic and in the ring. A nice way to finish the match with a disqualification, keeping both men strong going into the Royal Rumble, and a good idea to involve Christian and Edge into the finish. I predict Edge to call it down the middle, CM Punk retains and Christian doesn't like it. Zack Ryder as #1 doesn't bode well for him... don't really care, lmao. An obvious win for Randy Orton here, but I don't see him winning the Royal Rumble. A nice feud you have going with the Divas Championship, it gives them something to do. A nice win for The Miz in the Main Event, since he will be the #30 entrant. I'm hoping you're building him as a potential winner, only to totally own him at the Rumble - I'm begging, haha. As in reality, a great segment with The Undertaker and Triple H which will obviously happen at WrestleMania. I'm just wondering how you'll do it differently. Another great Raw.
SmackDown, I'm glad to see that the Orton/Jericho feud will continue, just wondering for how long. Pleased to see Sheamus retain the Intercontinental Championship, McIntyre isn't quite back in that picture yet. A big victory for Dean Ambrose over Mason Ryan, but I definitely don't think he'll win the Royal Rumble. A big win for Wade Barrett over Daniel Bryan, I see AJ somehow accidentally costing Bryan the title, sending him into heel mode. A nice victory for Justin Gabriel, I'd like to see Kidd and Gabriel take the titles at some point. A good win for Sin Cara, big fan of his. A no contest was the best way to go for the Main Event, keeps everyone strong going into their respective title matches. Looking forward to reading the Royal Rumble.

YouTube Pre-Show Hunico and Epico def. Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd (Still WWE Tag Team Champions)
Following the WWE signature, a video package was shown, featuring a clip from Edge's retirement as the audience chanted "Thank You Edge." The Rated R Superstar left the world of professional wrestling and sports entertainment as one of the most decorated champions in history, and one of the most respected superstars to ever grace the WWE locker room. However, his actions tonight could further that respect, or tarnish it. We then saw a clip of CM Punk slapping Edge a few weeks back on RAW, shouting at him to tell the truth and that he plans to screw him out of the WWE Championship. Edge did not give an answer, but stormed out of the ring. Will Edge do the right thing and call the match down the middle? Or will his reputation be tarnished for the purpose of allowing Christian to become the new WWE Champion? We then saw past highlights of the Royal Rumble match, one of the most important matches in history. 30 men enter, but only one will stand tall among everyone else. That one man will be on his way to the main event of WrestleMania XXVIII with a World Championship match. The Road to WrestleMania starts now.
Cutting to the arena, "A Warrior's Call" by Volbeat blasted over the PA system as a huge pyrotechnics display was shot off. The absolutely red-hot crowd here in St. Louis was shown as the commentary unit of Michael Cole, Jerry "The King" Lawler, and Booker T welcomed everyone to the night where one superstar's career will be defined. It's the Royal Rumble! 3 championships will be decided tonight as one of the fastest rising stars in SmackDown history, Cody Rhodes, will take on Kane for the World Heavyweight Championship. The two most dominant Divas in WWE today wage war in a Submission Match as Natalya looks to end the reign of the Glamazon, Beth Phoenix. And one of the most talked about WWE Championship matches in recent memory. CM Punk will defend the gold against Christian, but you have to remember the x factor in all of this. The special guest referee, Edge. Two weeks ago on RAW, the Rated R Superstar stated that he would call the match down the middle. But after some harsh words from CM Punk, is that still Edge's motive. Or will he deliberately screw Punk and award the WWE Title to his best friend? And finally, it's that time of the year again. The match where 29 dreams are crushed, but one blossoms. The Royal Rumble match. Who will be the one and headline WrestleMania XXVIII?
The lights dimmed in the arena as the steel cage was shown descending down to the ring. The last time we saw this structure, Mark Henry ripped Daniel Bryan to shreds, taking him out of action for a month. Coming up next, will we see the same scenario? Or can Daniel Bryan pull off the upset as he begins the journey to his World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania? After the structure was settled in, Mark Henry's theme hit as the World's Strongest Man made his way out to a very negative reception. Though he didn't care as he stepped into the cage, ready to repeat history. The theme of Daniel Bryan hit to quite an ovation as SmackDown's Mr. Money In The Bank made his way out to the stage. After locking eyes with Henry, Bryan left to the backstage area. Seconds later, he reemerged with a wheelchair-bounded AJ. It's been made clear over the last week that Bryan was very hesitant about having AJ out here tonight, but it would appear that Mark Henry's words on SmackDown changed his mind. He rolled AJ to the ringside area before stepping into the cage with the World's Strongest Man.
Steel Cage Match Mark Henry vs. Daniel Bryan
After the bell sounded, both Bryan and Henry remained locked on each other, not making a single move. Bryan went after Henry's leg, trying to take him down. That wasn't happening as Henry picked him up and tossed him into cage wall. Henry placed both of his feet on Bryan's chest as he held onto the ropes, nearly crushing him. We saw AJ watching, incredibly concerned about Bryan. Henry picked him up in a bear hug position before ramming Bryan back-first into the cage wall. He did so one more time before backing up even further. This time, Bryan was able to slide off of Henry's shoulder, causing him to crash into the wall on his own. Bryan ran the ropes, picking up enough speed as he delivered a running forearm that rocked the World's Strongest Man. Bryan climbed the cage a bit before flying off, only to have have Henry's head ram into his chest. Henry picked Bryan up again, throwing him into a corner. As he charged at him, Bryan was able to move out of harm's way. With Henry's front against the turnbuckles, Bryan delivered a running dropkick to his back. Henry fell to the mat as Bryan went for the cover, but only got a two count as Henry threw him off. Henry tried stirring to his feet, but Bryan was able to keep him down with several kicks to the chest. As he was going for that one final kick to the head, Henry grabbed his leg before grabbing his head. The World's Strongest Man raked Bryan's forehead against the steel before ramming it. Bryan could be seen with a bit of blood above his right eyebrow, causing more concern to come over AJ. With Bryan motionless on the canvas, Henry attempted to deliver a Splash. After running the ropes and jumping into the air, Bryan quickly moved out of the way as Henry crashed onto the mat. Bryan quickly caught him with dropkick the head before delivering multiple strikes to his head. As Henry tried to get to his feet, Bryan grabbed his head and began striking him with repeated knee's to the side of his head. This got Henry back on his knees before Bryan delivered that big kick to the back of his head. He rolled Henry over and got the cover, but the World's Strongest Man managed to kick out. Bryan thought about asking for the door to be opened, but decided against it as he locked in the LeBell Lock. Henry struggled, but was able to power his way out of the hold. Bryan charged towards him, but Henry caught him with a devastating clothesline. The World's Strongest Man picked Bryan up, planting him with the World's Strongest Slam. Henry commanded for the door to be opened. He stepped out onto the apron, but walked back into the ring as he shut the door. Bryan was able to crawl in between Henry's legs, hurrying for the door. Henry grabbed him by his trunks, pulling him back into the center of the ring. He picked Bryan up in a Gorilla Press position, but it was countered into a DDT. Bryan slowly crawled to the door, AJ and the entire audience cheering him on. Henry was able to grab him just as he had an arm outside of the door. He picked Bryan up, planting him with one more World's Strongest Slam. It looked to be over now as Bryan was motionless on the mat, Henry heading for the door. Suddenly, AJ stood up from her wheelchair and slammed the door into Henry's skull. The audience erupted with "AJ" chants as it was now Henry who was out cold, Bryan climbing scaling the cage. He was now at the top of the cage as Henry stirred to his feet. All Bryan had to do was climb down the other side, but he had other ideas. After Henry turned around, Bryan flew off of the cage with a Missile Dropkick! We saw the commentators, audience, and AJ all in disbelief as Bryan draped his arm over Henry, getting the three count to get the victory.
Winner: Daniel Bryan
A huge pop emerged from the audience as Bryan's arm was raised, AJ joining him in the ring. She and the referee helped Bryan to his feet as he couldn't believe it himself. He was asking AJ if he really did fly off of the cage, to which she responded with a kiss. Bryan was handed the Money In The Bank briefcase as he scaled to the top of the cage once again. He raised the briefcase high in the air as he stared endlessly at the WrestleMania XXVIII sign, knowing he's on his way to a World Heavyweight Championship match on the grandest stage of them all.
Cutting backstage, John Laurinaitis and Teddy Long were shown in their office, Johnny giving Teddy props for this Steel Cage match. "I probably could've done it better, but still an acceptable job." They then approached Kelly Kelly and Alicia Fox, who would be handling the tumbler that contained the Royal Rumble entry numbers. In came Ricardo Rodriguez, who introduced Alberto Del Rio. He walked into the room, shaking Laurinaitis' hands, not caring much for Teddy. Del Rio, claiming he didn't want to get his hands dirty, asked Kelly and Alicia to get his number for him. They both declined, leaving him to shout at Ricardo to pick the number for him. He did so, handing the ball to Del Rio. After opening the number, Del Rio's eyes widened as his jaw was nearly on the floor. "The hell is wrong with you?" shouted Del Rio as he ripped up the paper, throwing the pieces in the face of Ricardo.
Cutting to another camera, Edge was shown making his way into the arena. All eyes are on the Rated Superstar tonight as the ball is in his court. Does he call the WWE Championship match fairly, or does he screw CM Punk out of the gold?
Submission Match for the Divas Championship Beth Phoenix (c) vs. Natalya
One of the more hyped Divas matches in recent memory, and for good reasoning. After the bell sounded, the two locked up as Natalya quickly went for the Sharpshooter. Beth escaped as she crawled to the corner, kicking Natalya as she went after her. Beth locked in a Sleeper Hold, hoping that would be enough. She turned out to be wrong as Natalya managed to use her strength to lift Beth off of her feet and ram her back first into a corner. The champion was hit with several elbows before Natalya placed her on the top turnbuckle. Beth was able to kick Natalya away, giving her enough time to hit a Crossbody. Beth locked in a single-legged Boston Crab, pulling back relentlessly as the struggle could be seen on the face of Natalya. However, she managed to reach the ropes. Beth stepped to the outside, pulling Natalya towards a corner before pulling her shoulder into the ring post. From there, Beth targeted that shoulder. After hitting the shoulder with several knees, she locked in an armbar. As the audience rooted for Natalya, she gained the strength get to her feet and take Beth down with an Arm Drag. With her good arm, Natalya caught Beth with several clotheslines before finishing her off with one over the top rope. As Beth stirred to her feet, Natalya climbed onto the top turnbuckle. She attempted to come down with a hammer fist, but Beth dodged it as Natalya hit her injured shoulder on the barricade. The official tried to check on her, but Beth quickly picked her up and threw her shoulder-first into the ring post. She crawled away from Beth, trying the gain some recovery time. Beth charged towards her, but Natalya used her good arm to lift the champion into the air, her face bouncing off of the steel steps. Both Divas were down as the advantage would be given to whoever got back in the ring first. Natalya did so as Beth stepped onto the ring apron. Natalya charged at her, but the defending champion caught her with a shoulder to the gut, followed by a knee to her forehead. Beth then attempted to lock in the Sharpshooter, but Natalya was able to push her away before hitting an Atomic Drop. She attempted a suplex, but Beth was able to slide off and locked in a Full Nelson. Natalya tried to fight, but her bad shoulder wouldn't allow her to. Beth applied even more pressure, dropping Natalya to her knees. The pain soon became unbearable as Natalya faintly submitted.
Winner: Beth Phoenix (Still Divas Champion)
As the bell sounded, Beth released the Full Nelson as she stared down at the motionless Natalya, satisfied with this victory. She was handed the Divas Championship as she raised it high in the air. Is there anyone that can stop the reign of the Glamazon?
A promo was shown for Elimination Chamber, live Sunday February 19th, only on Pay-Per-View.
Returning to the arena, the commentary unit were shown, praising the match we just witnessed as one of the best Divas match in recent memory. Cole then revealed that tomorrow's RAW will be a 3-hour special. Along with that, the first inductee in the Hall of Fame class of 2012 will be revealed. Cutting to the GM office, the WWE Tag Team Champions were shown choosing their numbers from the tumbler. Hunico and Epico seemed satisfied with their numbers, but laughed at Primo's. After they left, Evan Bourne walked in. John Laurinaitis was ecstatic see the man he claimed on RAW will win the Royal Rumble. He demanded that Kelly picks his number, not allowing her to deny his request. After Bourne saw his number, Laurinaitis told him to put it back in and grab a better one. Teddy Long stepped in, telling Laurinaitis that he won't allow him to give Bourne an unfair advantage. Now he either takes that number or doesn't get one at all. "John, it's alright. If Teddy wants me to play fair, that's fine. I'll still win the Rumble," claimed Bourne as he left the room.
World Heavyweight Championship Kane (c) vs. Cody Rhodes
The bell sounded as Kane charged towards Cody, though he moved out of the way. He delivered a dropkick to Kane's leg, causing the World Heavyweight Champion to fall onto his knees. Rhodes stomped away on Kane as the official pulled him away to avoid the five-count. Rhodes went back on the attack, but Kane grabbed his throat. Rhodes was able to break Kane's grip before hitting a dropkick that sent him to the floor. Cody leaped off of the ring apron, but Kane caught him and rammed him spine-first into the ring post. The Big Red Monster wasn't done on the outside as he grabbed Cody and tossed him into the barricade before putting him back in the ring. He got the cover, but Cody managed to kick out. Kane then tossed him back to the outside, hoping it would give him the same advantage as before. Rhodes was able to turn the tables as he hit Beautiful Disaster off of the barricade, sending Kane back into the ring. Cody delivered several knife edge chops before going for another Beautiful Disaster. Kane was able to catch him by throat, throwing him back into the ring. As Cody got to his feet, he was taken back down with a Big Boot. Kane picked Cody up, tossing him sternum-first into the turnbuckle before dropping him with a Sidewalk Slam. Another cover for Kane, and another kick out for Cody. The World Champion ascended to the top roe, looking to come down with a Flying Clothesline. Cody was able to counter it and caught Kane with a Dropkick in mid-air. He got the cover, but Kane was able to get a shoulder up. Rhodes locked Kane in a Sleeper Hold, hoping to make the Big Red Monster fade away. Kane was get to his feet and had the intentions of ramming Cody into the turnbuckle. Rhodes able to slide off as Kane backed into the corner on his own. Rhodes stepped onto the second rope, pounding away on Kane with repeated closed-fists. Kane was able to get a hold of Cody, planting him in the center of the ring with a Powerbomb. Cody was once again able to kick out. As Kane was picking Cody up, it was countered into a roll up. Kane managed to kick out, catching Cody with a series of uppercuts after he was on his feet. After a back-body drop, Kane got his hand ready for the Chokeslam. In mid-air, Cody was able to counter it into a DDT. Kane tried to get to his feet, but Cody grabbed him into position for Cross Rhodes. Kane's strength was able to prevail as he lifted Rhodes into position for the Tombstone. Cody slid off of his shoulders, rolling him up again. Kane was able to roll out of it, but let his guard down as Cody hit Cross Rhodes. He got the cover, but Kane managed to kick out just in the nick of time. Rhodes couldn't believe it as he was less than a second away from being crowned the new World Heavyweight Champion. He went for another DDT, but Kane was able to push him away and catch him with a boot. The Big Red Monster climbed up onto the top turnbuckle, but Cody stopped him as she stepped onto the second turnbuckle, delivering repeated strikes. Kane was able to block one of Cody's strikes as he grabbed him by his throat, hitting a Chokeslam from the top rope to finally gain the victory.
Winner: Kane (Still World Heavyweight Champion)
The Big Red Monster slowly stood up to his feet as he was handed the World Heavyweight Championship, he raised it high in the air as he looked at the WrestleMania XXVIII sign, as if he were vowing to carry the gold into the grandest stage of them all. The commentators put over the excellent performance of Cody Rhodes, but this night belongs to the Devil's Favorite Demon.
Cutting to the GM office, John Laurinaitis told Teddy Long that while that was a solid World Heavyweight Championship bout, he has no doubt that the upcoming WWE Championship match will trump it. "We'll see about that," said Teddy. Suddenly, a disco ball lit up the room as Brodus Clay's music hit. Cameron and Naomi came into the room before the Funkasaurus entered. Naomi got his number from the tumbler for him as the music stopped for a second as he opened the ball. "It's not bad," said Brodus before resuming dancing.
Cutting back to the arena, the theme of Triple H hit to the surprise of everyone. The Game made his way down to the ring, nearly one week after his encounter with the Undertaker. The COO grabbed a microphone, saying that he didn't plan on being here and doesn't want to take too long. Last Monday on RAW, he called someone down to the ring that he wasn't expecting. While he was certain that it was either John Cena or Kevin Nash who was sending those messages to WWE Headquarters, it turned out to be somebody completely different. It was the Undertaker. The last time he met 'Taker face to face was last year at WrestleMania XXVII. He failed at attempting to break the streak, but he walked away. Undertaker didn't. And this past Monday, he recognized the look in the eyes of the Deadman and knew exactly what he was asking for. Hunter looked at the WrestleMania XXVIII sign, saying that's what Undertaker was asking for. He was asking for a rematch at WrestleMania XXVIII. The audience popped as everyone around the world would like to see the rematch. Triple H said that while he understands it's what everyone else, and especially the Undertaker wants, he doesn't. He's sorry, but he's going to have to say no. The audience showered the COO with boos for turning down the challenge. Suddenly, the theme of John Cena hit as a mixed reaction emerged. Cena stepped out onto the stage for the first time in 4 weeks, when he was suspended by Triple H. Cena ran down to the ring as the anger in Hunter's eyes could be seen. "Your suspension isn't over until tomorrow night, John. Do you really want to face a longer suspension?" Cena told Triple H to cool his jets because he apparently didn't get the memo. The Board of Directors, albeit a bit late, finally took his side of all of this and his suspension was over at midnight earlier today. "And I couldn't wait to get in this ring because I have a lot to say to you, Hunter. I don't care about the suspension or me punching you in the face right now. What I'm going to call you out on right now is you turning down the Undertaker's challenge for a match at WrestleMania XXVIII. Since putting on that suit, I never saw a change in your attitude. You stepped up to CM Punk, Kevin Nash, and even me. But when the Undertaker came down and decided that he wanted a piece, you backed away." Triple H told Cena that this has nothing to do with him, so if he knows what's good for him, he'll stay out of it. He has his reasons for turning down Undertaker's challenge, and doesn't need to explain himself to anybody. "Hunter, I never thought I'd see this day. But it turns out that the Game has become a coward." The audience reacted to Cena's words as Triple H put his attention back on Cena. "You fear the Deadman. You fear the streak. You fear stepping into this ring on the grandest stage of them all and looking the Phenom in the eyes." Triple H simply turned around and delivered a strike to the face of Cena, a bit of payback for what happened a month ago. Triple H hurried up the ramp as Cena looked on at him, knowing he's gotten in the head of the Game.
A promo was shown for WrestleMania XXVIII, featuring the official theme song, "Tonight is the Night" by Outasight.
Returning to the arena, a graphic was shown for the upcoming WWE Championship match between CM Punk and Christian, with Edge as the special guest referee. A video package showed Christian's introduction of Edge a few weeks back, welcoming the man he presumed would be on his side for the WWE Championship match. Edge told Christian that he would be calling the match down the middle. However, WWE Champion CM Punk made his way down to the ring and got in the face of the Rated R Superstar, calling him a liar with the belief that his only intention at the Royal Rumble is to screw him over. Will Edge call the match down the middle? Or will friendship prevail for Christian?
WWE Championship - Special Guest Referee: Edge CM Punk (c) vs. Christian
Before the two competitors made their entrance, Edge was out first. The Rated R Superstar is definitely in a difficult situation as the fate of the WWE Championship is in his hands. Christian was out next, smiling and hugging his best friend. Finally, CM Punk made his entrance, pressing the WWE Championship against the chest of Edge. After the bell sounded, Christian patted Edge on the shoulder, still trying to make sure he is on his side. Punk rammed Christian into a corner, striking him repeatedly as Edge made the count. He pulled Punk away, which allowed Christian to take him down with a clothesline. He quickly went for the cover, but barely got even a two count. Christian could be seen saying "Good one, Edge," as if he really believed Edge was on his side. Punk delivered a few shots to Christian's mid-section before hitting a running clothesline. He got the cover, but Christian managed to kick out. Edge told Punk that it was only two as Punk believed he was pulling strings for Christian. The defending champion picked Christian up and irish whipped him into a corner. As he was preparing to hit his running knee, Christian slid under the bottom rope to catch his breath. Punk wouldn't allow that as he hit Captain Charisma with a suicide dive through the second rope. Punk rolled Christian back into the ring, only getting another two count. He picked up Christian for a suplex, but Captain Charisma landed on his feet as he wrapped his arms around the waist of Punk. Charging towards the ropes, Christian was looking for a roll up, though Punk held onto the ropes. He lifted Christian over his head during a charge attempt as he landed on the ring apron. Christian swung, but Punk caught him with a Roundhouse Kick as he crashed to the floor. Punk ascended to the top turnbuckle, waiting for Christian to turn around. Punk came off, but missed Christian as he landed on his feet. Christian then grabbed Punk's arms into position for the Killswitch, hitting it on the floor. He quickly rolled Punk into the ring, realize this was now his opportunity to become WWE Champion. To the surprise of everyone in the arena and around the world, Punk kicked out. Christian couldn't believe as Edge used his fingers to show him that it was only two. Captain Charisma began channeling his inner-Edge, pulling on his hair as he backed into a corner. He waited for Punk to get to his feet, repeatedly shouting "Spear!" Punk jumped out of the way, retaliating with a scoop slam. Christian managed to kick out again as Punk headed to the top rope. He pointed up to the sky before coming down with an Elbow Drop, but missed as Christian rolled out of harm's way. Punk seemed to have seriously hurt himself as Edge tried to tend to him, but the champion refused his help. While this was going on, Christian grabbed the WWE Championship from ringside, taking it into the ring with him. Edge caught him, taking the title away. Christian and Edge began to argue as Edge could be heard saying "I'm calling this down the middle, like I said before." The disappointment on Christian's face could be shown, telling Edge off. As Edge tried to apologize, Christian slapped him across the face. This prompted Edge to swing the WWE Championship, but Christian ducked as the title collided with CM Punk's skull. Christian covered Punk as Edge had no choice but to make the count. Fortunately, Punk managed to kick out. Christian's face showed enormous disbelief as Edge backed into the ropes, knowing that this match is going to cost him his best friend. Christian waited for Punk to get up, once again doing his Spear routine. As he was running, Punk managed to counter it and lift him up to his shoulders. He hit Christian with the GTS, covering him as Edge made the three count.
Winner: CM Punk (Still WWE Champion)
The audience erupted as Punk and Edge stared at one another, Punk realizing that he was wrong. Edge handed him the WWE Championship before leaving up the entrance ramp, not wanting to be anywhere near Christian at that moment. Punk didn't seem to care much for the tension between Edge and Christian as he raised the WWE Championship in the air while staring at the WrestleMania XXVIII sign, knowing that he may very well walk into Miami as the champion.
Cutting to the GM office one more time, Teddy Long was shown congratulating John Laurinaitis on booking a very solid WWE Championship match. Laurinaitis wasn't very pleased with the outcome though as Christian is one of People Power's biggest supporters. One number could be seen remaining in the tumbler as Santino Marella walked in. He mentioned how last year, he came one person away from winning the Royal Rumble. This year, he's going to win it all and headline "Wrassle' a Mania." He grabbed the number from the tumbler and fainted upon seeing it.
A video package was shown for the Royal Rumble match, showing the statistics and history of the yearly bout. As we know, 30 men will enter, but only one will walk out victorious. Following the video, the bell sounded as Justin Roberts announced that the following contest is the Royal Rumble match. He quickly ran down the rules as the WrestleMania XXVIII was focused on. It's finally here. The Road to WrestleMania starts now.
30-Man Royal Rumble Match
Entrant #1: United States Champion Zack Ryder Entrant #2: Dean Ambrose
As we found out last Monday on RAW, Zack Ryder would be entering the Royal Rumble as the #1 entrant. Going up against him for the first ninety seconds was the undefeated Dean Ambrose, who has vowed to win the Royal Rumble. The two battled for what was a very entertaining ninety seconds. Ambrose was near eliminating Ryder, but he was able to fend him off as the countdown clock reached zero.
Entrant #3: Alberto Del Rio In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio
As we saw in the tumbler room earlier, Del Rio was not pleased at all with the number he drew. He quickly stepped into the ring, going after both Ryder and Ambrose. He tossed Ryder over the top, but the United States Champion is able to hang on as he rolls back into the ring. Ambrose got Del Rio a Sleeper Hold, not wanting to let go as the Mexican Aristocrat nearly faded away. Ryder was able to take Ambrose and toss him over, but he managed to hang on as well.
Entrant #4: WWE Tag Team Champion Primo In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Primo
The first of the WWE Tag Team Champions to enter the fray as Primo instantly hit Ryder with a crossbody off of the top rope. He and Del Rio had a fun back and forth battle until Dean Ambrose hit him with a Knee Trembler, tossing him over the top as we saw our first elimination. Primo is eliminated.
Entrant #5: Heath Slater In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Heath Slater
The One Man Southern Rock Band, who feels he hasn't been shown enough respect, can now earn that respect with a victory in the Royal Rumble match. He immediately went after Ryder before Del Rio caught him with an enziguri. He attempted to eliminate Slater, but he refused as he held onto the ropes for dear life. Ambrose and Ryder went at it again, this time knocking each other down with simultaneous clotheslines.
Entrant #6: Ted DiBiase In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Heath Slater, Ted DiBiase
A man who Booker T described as a dark horse in this match. DiBiase slid into the ring and quickly delivered a scoop slam to Alberto Del Rio. He then targeted Dean Ambrose, placing him in a corner as he hit him with multiple knife edge chops. Heath Slater went after DiBiase, trying to avenge his loss on Superstars this past week.
Entrant #7: Dolph Ziggler In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Heath Slater, Ted DiBiase, Dolph Ziggler
One of the bigger favorites to win it all. The "Show Off" quickly stepped into the ring, taking DiBiase out with a Zig Zag before tossing him over. Ted DiBiase is eliminated. Dolph then targeted Zack Ryder, not forgetting about their rivalry towards the end of 2011. Alberto Del Rio and Dean Ambrose went at it for a bit before Slater jumped it, leading to a Knee Trembler for him.
Entrant #8: Randy Orton In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Heath Slater, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton
The audience erupted as the hometown hero marched down to the battlefield. Immediately after joining the match, Orton planted Slater with an RKO before tossing him over the top. Heath Slater is eliminated. The Viper went after Alberto Del Rio, delivering repeated strikes in a corner. When he turned around, he was met with a dropkick from Ziggler. Ryder grabbed Dolph and threw him over the top, but he was able to hold on as Ambrose pulled Ryder back into the center of the ring, dropping him with a German Suplex.
Entrant #9: R-Truth In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, R-Truth
The psychotic R-Truth joined the Rumble match next, going right after Zack Ryder, looking for revenge for he and the Miz's WWE Tag Team Championship loss last month. We saw Orton on the verge of elimination at the hands of Del Rio and Ambrose, but the Viper hung on as he fended the both of them off. Zack Ryder hit Ziggler with a Rough Ryder, but Truth attacked him before he could attempt the elimination.
Entrant #10: Tyson Kidd In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, R-Truth, Tyson Kidd
Now a third off the way through the match, and the ever exciting Tyson Kidd enters next. He entered with a Springboard Clothesline onto Ziggler before targeting Dean Ambrose. During all of this, R-Truth was the victim of an RKO as Orton attempted the same on Ziggler, but was pushed away and caught with an enziguri with Orton. The partnership between Ziggler and Del Rio didn't last long at all as Dolph attempted to eliminate him, though the Mexican Aristocrat managed to hang on.
Entrant #11: Mason Ryan In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, R-Truth, Tyson Kidd, Mason Ryan
Mason Ryan was out next, taking out everyone in sight with massive clotheslines. He specifically focused on Dean Ambrose, who he was defeated by Friday on SmackDown. Eventually, Mason was taken down with the Shut Up from Truth, followed by a Cross Armbreaker from Del Rio.
Entrant #12: Jinder Mahal In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, R-Truth, Tyson Kidd, Mason Ryan, Jinder Mahal
Entering his first Royal Rumble, it was Jinder Mahal who joined the match next. As he and Zack Ryder had a battle going on, Del Rio tossed Mason Ryan over the top and onto the floor. Mason Ryan in eliminated. Soon, R-Truth found his Shut Up countered into an RKO as Orton tossed him over the top rope. R-Truth is eliminated.
Entrant #13: Road Dogg In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Tyson Kidd, Jinder Mahal, Road Dogg
The surprise return of the Road Dogg Jesse James created a nice ovation from the audience as he slid into the ring. Road Dogg still looked to be in an acceptable shape as he held his own against the stars of today. As Jinder Mahal tried to toss Zack Ryder out, Long Island Iced Z turned the tables on him as he was able to hold the ropes down and send Jinder crashing to the floor. Jinder Mahal is eliminated. As Road Dogg was getting to his feet after a dropkick to Dolph Ziggler, he was caught with a Knee Trembler from Dean Ambrose. Ambrose picked him up and tossed him out of the ring, leading to an enormous amount of boos from the audience. Road Dogg is eliminated.
Entrant #14: WWE Tag Team Champion Epico In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Tyson Kidd, Epico
Epico slides into the ring as Randy Orton is getting ready to strike Dean Ambrose with an RKO. Ziggler breaks it up, hitting Orton with a Fameasser. As Tyson Kidd was position on the top rope, ready to come down onto Ambrose, Del Rio caught him with an enziguri, sending him crashing to the floor. Tyson Kidd is eliminated.
Entrant #15: Evan Bourne In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Epico, Evan Bourne
Quite possibly the most heat the audience has given anyone thus far in the Rumble match, despite Evan being from St. Louis. Bourne quickly slid into the ring, backing against a corner as he simply watched the chaos unfold. Randy Orton wouldn't allow him to sit back as he went after Bourne, hitting him with repeated strikes in the corner. Dean Ambrose grabbed Orton and hit a German Suplex before clotheslining Epico over the top. Epico is eliminated.
Entrant #16: John Morrison In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Evan Bourne, John Morrison
The Shaman of Sexy quickly entered the ring, going after his rival, Zack Ryder. As many of the heels went after Orton, Evan Bourne was able to relax in the corner for a bit, hoping to remain fresh throughout the match. A close call came for Ziggler as he was barely hanging on on the apron when Orton delivered a dropkick. Ziggler held on with one hand, which proved to be enough.
Entrant #17: Intercontinental Champion Sheamus In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Evan Bourne, John Morrison, Sheamus
The WWE Universe were on their feet as the Intercontinental Champion and one of the favorites to win it all, Sheamus, made his way down to the ring. As John Morrison was on the ring apron, Zack Ryder pushed him off. Just like last year, he landed on the barricade as he was able to step onto it. He leaped onto the ring apron, but Sheamus hit him with a Brogue Kick that sent him to the floor. John Morrison is eliminated.
Entrant #18: Brodus Clay In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Evan Bourne, Sheamus, Brodus Clay
The Funkasaurus entered the fray now, going after Alberto Del Rio and Dean Ambrose. He noticed Evan Bourne sitting in a corner, targeting him as Bourne kept his distance from him. While Brodus was stalking Evan, Ziggler dropped him with a Zig Zag as Del Rio and Ambrose worked over Brodus, hoping to weaken him a bit.
Entrant #19: WWE Tag Team Champion Hunico In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Evan Bourne, Sheamus, Brodus Clay, Hunico
The final third of the WWE Tag Team Champions now entered the Royal Rumble, though he would be going alone as Primo and Epico were eliminated earlier. As Ambrose and Del Rio attempted to eliminate Brodus Clay, the Funkasaurus was able to fight them off as he hit Ambrose with a Running Splash. Evan Bourne hit him with a Missile Dropkick as Del Rio planted him on the back of his head with a huge German Suplex. We then saw a face off between Randy Orton and Sheamus. Two of SmackDown's biggest stars went at it, trying to eliminate one another to no prevail.
Entrant #20: Sin Cara In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Evan Bourne, Sheamus, Brodus Clay, Hunico, Sin Cara
One of the WWE Universe's favorites in this one was out next as Sin Cara quickly went after anyone he could, using a Hurricarana to eliminate Hunico. Hunico is eliminated. He delivered a running dropkick to Evan Bourne, who had been tossed into the corner by Orton. Cara attempted to eliminated Bourne, but couldn't as Evan hit him with a Swinging Neckbreaker.
Entrant #21: Diamond Dallas Page In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Evan Bourne, Sheamus, Brodus Clay, Sin Cara, Diamond Dallas Page
The audience were on their feet as the familiar theme of DDP hit. Diamond Dallas Page made his way out to the stage, leading the WWE Universe in a simultaneous "Bang" gesture. He stepped into the ring, taking down Bourne and Ziggler with strikes. He and Orton met face to face, an encounter that sparked a loud pop from the audience. Dean Ambrose and Alberto Del Rio went after the both of them, though Orton and DDP were able to get the upperhand as they delivered the RKO and Diamond Cutter side by side. Orton and DDP both smiled at one another until Evan Bourne grabbed DDP and tossed him over the top. DDP is eliminated. The audience showered Bourne with boos as he turned around into a clothesline from Orton that sent him over the top rope. Bourne held on and was able to slide back into the ring.
Entrant #22: Alex Riley In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Evan Bourne, Sheamus, Brodus Clay, Sin Cara, Alex Riley
A-Ry was out next to fairly warm reception. He quickly jumped into the ring to try and help Sheamus eliminate Dolph Ziggler, but to no prevail as Dean Ambrose clawed his back before the two began their own battle. As Alberto Del Rio had Sin Cara on his shoulders, he attempted to toss him over the top rope as Cara was able to turn the tables and send Del Rio to the floor. Alberto Del Rio is eliminated. The crowd went nuts as last year's Royal Rumble winner would not be repeating history. First, shock came over Del Rio as he just sat on the floor. Anger came over him next as he jumped back into the ring, taking Sin Cara and tossing him over the top rope. Sin Cara is eliminated. Del Rio took Sin Cara and tossed him into the barricade, locking in the Cross Armbreaker as several officials came to break it up. Del Rio would not be pulling of the repeat, and took out his frustrations on the man who eliminated him, Sin Cara.
Entrant #23: Wade Barrett In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Evan Bourne, Sheamus, Brodus Clay, Alex Riley, Wade Barrett
Another favorite in this one was out next as Wade Barrett stepped into the ring, delivering a Big Boot to the head of Orton. Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler were both attempting to eliminate Brodus Clay, but he was able to fight them off. Not Barrett though as he was able to grab Brodus' legs and send him over the top and onto the floor. Brodus Clay is eliminated. As Barrett turned around, he was met by the Intercontinental Champion Sheamus as the two brawled. Alex Riley was going for a DDT on Evan Bourne as Dolph Ziggler snuck up behind him, tossing him over. Alex Riley is eliminated.
Entrant #24: Chris Jericho In The Ring: Zack Ryder, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Evan Bourne, Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Chris Jericho
Randy Orton kept his eyes locked on Jericho as he made his way down to the ring. Barrett was able to knock Orton to the mat as the former NXT pro/rookie combination assaulted the Viper. They both tried to eliminate him, but Orton was able to fight it as he delivered an RKO to Barrett and sent Jericho over the rope, though he was able to skin the cat and hang on. Dean Ambrose sent Zack Ryder over the top, though he was able to hold. As he attempted to re-enter the ring, he was hit a vicious Knee Trembler that not only knocked him out, but sent him crashing to the floor. Zack Ryder is eliminated.
Entrant #25: Drew McIntyre In The Ring: Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Evan Bourne, Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Chris Jericho, Drew McIntyre
The Sinister Scotsman entered next as he targeted Sheamus, the man who defeated him in their Intercontinental Championship bout this past Friday. No eliminations occurred at this time, but we did see an incredible mid-air RKO as Evan Bourne springboarded off of the top rope.
Entrant #26: Rob Van Dam In The Ring: Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Evan Bourne, Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Chris Jericho, Drew McIntyre, Rob Van Dam
The "RVD" chants filled the atmosphere as Van Dam headed into the ring, immediately hitting Chris Jericho with a Five Star Frog Splash. As McIntyre was going for a Future Shock DDT onto Sheamus, Orton grabbed his head and tossed him over the top. Drew McIntyre is eliminated. Chris Jericho snuck up behind Orton and attempted to eliminate him, but the Viper held on as he and Jericho went back and forth for a bit.
Entrant #27: Santino Marella In The Ring: Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Evan Bourne, Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Chris Jericho, Rob Van Dam, Santino Marella
Now we know why Santino Marella was so ecstatic earlier in the evening. He drew the number that has produced the most winners in Royal Rumble history. However, it didn't matter for him as he was quickly eliminated following Wasteland from Barrett. Santino Marella is eliminated. As Rob Van Dam was going for a Five Star Frog Splash onto both Dean Ambrose and Evan Bourne, Chris Jericho pushed him off as Van Dam's head bounced off of the barricade, also eliminating him in the process. Rob Van Dam is eliminated.
Entrant #28: Justin Gabriel In The Ring: Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Evan Bourne, Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Chris Jericho, Justin Gabriel
After failing to capture the WWE Tag Team Championships on the pre-show, this was Gabriel's chance to bounce back big time. Sheamus tossed Jericho over the top, though he simply landed on the ring apron and was able to deliver a quick elbow to keep Sheamus away. However, Randy Orton came out of nowhere with an RKO as Jericho's neck bounced off of the top rope, sending him to the floor. Chris Jericho is eliminated.
Entrant #29: David Otunga In The Ring: Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Evan Bourne, Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel, David Otunga
John Laurinaitis' right hand man was out next, providing a bit more protection for Evan Bourne as that seemed to be his job. He took a Brogue Kick from Sheamus, though Bourne managed to hold his own against the Intercontinental Champion with several strikes and kicks. For Justin Gabriel, he was the next one out at the hands of Dean Ambrose. Justin Gabriel is eliminated. The countdown clock appeared as we know who will be entering at #30 as we enter one of the final stages in the Rumble match.
Entrant #30: The Miz In The Ring: Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Evan Bourne, Sheamus, Wade Barrett, David Otunga, The Miz
This was it. One of these 8 men remaining in the ring would be going on to headline WrestleMania. Dean Ambrose has remained in here from the start, thus far staying true to his guarantee to win it all. Out first was David Otunga after a Brogue Kick from Sheamus. David Otunga is eliminated. This left Bourne vulnerable, though he was able to somehow stay in there. As Miz was preparing to toss Randy Orton over, the theme of Mick Foley hit as the audience erupted. Miz turned his attention to the stage, waiting and taunting for Foley to come out. The music soon stopped as Orton came up behind Miz, tossing him over the top. The Miz is eliminated. The WWE Universe went wild as The Miz sat on the floor in disbelief. Despite having the #30 entry spot, he failed to win and all thanks to Mick Foley's entrance music. He looked as if he had seen a ghost as he made his way up the entrance ramp, mouthing the name "Foley" repeatedly. Dean Ambrose was looking for a Knee Trembler on Wade Barrett, but was caught by surprise with a Brogue Kick. The man who survived 57 minutes was tossed out by Sheamus. Dean Ambrose is eliminated. Evan Bourne had Orton down in a corner, driving his heel into his collar bone. As Bourne was picking up Orton, the Viper suddenly had a resurgence of stamina as he grabbed Evan's head and tossed him over. Evan Bourne is eliminated.
Final Four: Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Wade Barrett
The final four men remaining each took a corner as they looked on at each other, realizing it was all down to them. Barrett and Orton went after one another, while Sheamus and Ziggler did the same. As Orton pummeled Barrett with right hands, he grabbed Orton in Powerbomb position, soon turning it into a Wasteland. He failed to hit it as Orton slid off of his shoulders, pushing Barrett towards the ropes. Barrett ducked a shot from Orton as Ziggler caught the Viper with a Superkick, allowing Barrett to clothesline Orton over. Randy Orton is eliminated. The audience was livid as their hometown hero would not be emerging victorious, and we were now guaranteed a first time winner. Barrett and Ziggler both worked over Sheamus for a great deal of time. As they tried to eliminate him, Sheamus slipped out of their grasps as Barrett crawled away. This left Ziggler to take a vicious Brogue Kick, followed by an elimination. Dolph Ziggler is eliminated.
Sheamus and Wade Barrett both backed into a corner as the WrestleMania XXVIII sign was shown looming in the background. One of these two men will be going on to the main event of WrestleMania. The audience was clearly in favor of the Intercontinental Champion as he shouted "Come on, fella!" And Barrett did so as the two exchanged blows in the center of the ring. Sheamus rammed him into a corner, repeatedly striking his mid section with his shoulder. He tried to lift Barrett over, but it wouldn't be enough as Wade fought him off. He went for a clothesline, but Sheamus managed to counter it into the Irish Curse Backbreaker. He backed against a corner as Barrett stirred to his feet, shouting "Brogue" repeatedly. After Barrett stirred to his feet, he managed to dodge the Brogue Kick as he tossed Sheamus over. The Great White held on as Barrett delivered numerous shots to his forehead. Sheamus grabbed Barrett's head, bringing him out onto the ring apron with him. The two battled as if they were on the edge of a cliff, hanging on for their lives. Barrett delivered a head butt as Sheamus was rocked for a bit, allowing Wade to step back into the ring, he charged towards Sheamus, who leaped over the top rope with a shoulder block. Barrett backed against the ropes as Sheamus went for one more Brogue Kick, Barrett moved out of the way as Sheamus got tangled up on the ropes, allowing Barrett to toss him over to get the final elimination and the victory.
Winner of the 2012 Royal Rumble: Wade Barrett
Barrett sat on his knees as he shouted at the top of his lungs, raising his arms in victory. He was announced as the winner of the Royal Rumble as he punched the air, raising his arms one more time. Sheamus was shown on the outside, devastated by this loss as he very well could've walked away with the victory. Barrett stepped onto the second rope as he stared at the WrestleMania XXVIII sign, fireworks being set off around it. Wade Barrett has won the 2012 Royal Rumble. The next stop for the Barrett Barrage - the main event of WrestleMania.

WWE Friday Night SmackDown: Friday 27th January 2012...Go home time for the Royal Rumble, nice. Kaitlyn beating Maxine was nice and refreshing to see, as was Ted Dibiase with a win against Heath Slater. I hope you make a character or something out of Dibiase, he needs it now after suffering for the past two years. A decent edition of Superstars. Good promo to kick off SmackDown, explaining the feud with Chris Jericho ending and the Royal Rumble coming up. Nice of Chris Jericho to meet him out in the ring as well. Decent opening contest with Sheamus having a decent defense of the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Drew McIntyre. Dean Ambrose beating Mason Ryan? That struck me as an odd match, mainly because Ryan's not been doing a lot lately, and here he is losing to a marginally smaller guy. I liked the promo following it though. Daniel Bryan discussing strategy for Sunday with AJ, interesting. Could be good for the story arc. Wade Barrett and Daniel Bryan always had great matches, good first hour main event with Barrett getting the win thanks to the distraction from Mark Henry. Wow, Mark Henry destroying Bryan and then cutting a promo, was pretty sharp and nice for their build. It brings various questions to their feud. Justin Gabriel beating Primo was epected in my mind, interesting for Hunico and Epico to be the ones defending the WWE Tag Team Championships on Sunday. I always liked the Freebird rule. I appreciate the hype of Ambrose potentially winning the Rumble, but I doubt it. Not this soon, anyway, but maybe next year. I liked Christian and Cody Rhodes' segment. I'm hoping you have something in store for Johnny Curtis down the line, such a good talent. Expected Sin Cara to pick up the win though. And up last, chaotic main event scene with a nice tag team main event to hype up the two major title matches at the Rumble. A good go-home show, little to complain about. It's been well built up.
WWE Royal Rumble: Sunday 29th January 2012...Hunico and Epico retaining the WWE Tag Team Championships was expected in a decent YouTube Pre-Show choice, I see Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel picking up the belts somewhere down the line. I hope the Usos get a title reign before that, though. Very good choice with Daniel Bryan and Mark Henry opening the show in the Steel-Cage; y'know it always struck me how you never input Twitter trends into pay-per-views. That's a little observational note I have noticed. Bryan with the win was great, classic David vs Goliath ending. Secondly, good submission match for the Divas, Beth Phoenix retaining the WWE Divas Championship was the right decision. I can't see Natalya holding the belt again honestly. As intriguing a feud Cody Rhodes has had with Kane, he was never going to win the World Heavyweight Championship here in my mind. I can't see Kane getting past Elimination Chamber with the title though, there's not a lot of creative, great ideas you can do with Kane as champion at WrestleMania XXVIII. I wasn't expecting Triple H to come out and cut a promo, usually these sort of promos would happen the night after on RAW, but not here I guess. Interested in how you book this rivalry with the Undertaker. I did expect CM Punk to overcome the odds and beat Christian with Edge as official to retain the WWE Championship. I'm interested in who will challenge Punk for the belt at WrestleMania, though. Time for the Rumble! I was surprised to see Dean Ambrose in so early, and admired the return of Road Dogg remaining. Still so glad that you didn't focus this on returning stars of the past, and more on the current WWE superstars. There were a lot of undercarders that weren't too necessary in here, though. I do think that the best group of talent in the ring however was when Sin Cara arrived, though. Diamond Dallas Page! Fantastic, admired the showdown with Randy Orton, too. One time, I hope one of the WWE Legends in the Rumble matches would make it believably close to winning, honestly. Was a shame to see Chris Jericho gone earlier than I thought in the Rumble, though. Hahah, awesome Mick Foley and Miz exchange, quite exciting. Dean Ambrose nearly going the full length was awesome to see, I enjoyed that. Before I read on, reaching the Final Four, I have to analyse it: Dolph Ziggler being in this late is ACE, but I can't see him winning this. Randy Orton is in his hometown, so he could very well win this. Sheamus is the WWE Intercontinental Champion, and won in real life, so I wouldn't see you taking that approach. And Wade Barrett is a good favourite to win, and has been all along...I'm taking my money and rolling with Barrett. Wow, Orton went earlier than I thought. We're left with Sheamus and Barrett? I think that made it too clear that Barrett would win. I'd have traded Orton and Sheamus' finishing positions. But great decision, I can't wait to read the road to WrestleMania XXVIII. A great read overall, very nice booking throughout.

1/30/12 - Wade Barrett wins Rumble, 3-Hour RAW tonight, Future of Divas Division, WrestleMania start time, Former Superstar possibly returning, New Show
- Last night at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View event, we saw Wade Barrett stand tall over 29 other superstars to win the Royal Rumble match. The decision for Barrett to win came prior to Survivor Series, which can be marked as the event where is push recommenced. Along with him, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, and Chris Jericho were all discussed as possible winners. With Daniel Bryan set to cash-in his Money In The Bank contract at WrestleMania, it is expected for Barrett to go after the WWE Championship.
- As announced last night at the Royal Rumble, tonight’s edition of RAW will be 3 hours. WWE is aware that there has been an “overkill” of TV specials as of late. This is expected to be the last 3 hour edition until the WrestleMania go home show. Advertised for tonight’s show are the Elimination Chamber qualifying matches, as well as the reveal of the first Hall Of Fame inductee.
- With the news of Kharma’s miscarriage and the possibility of her never returning to the ring, many have wondered how WWE would respond. According to several sources, WWE is still fully intent on reviving the Divas division. Many noted that the Submission Match between Beth Phoenix and Natalya was given much more hype than usual, that being the first sign of the revival. Along with Beth and Natalya, AJ is also said to be someone that management views as a potential face of the division. Many feel that Eve has recently shown great improvement and a bigger role could be in store for her soon. Kaitlyn and Maxine impressed several officials with their match on Superstars last week, and could continue to see more exposure. And down in FCW, there is said to be a lot of potential in both Britani Knight and Sofia Cortez. If the WWE is serious about this revival, things could be looking up for the Divas division in 2012.
- For the first time since WrestleMania XX, we could be looking at a 5 hour show for wrestling’s grandest stage. Many sources have reported that a total of 12 matches has been set for ‘Mania, leaving the WWE to expand the show an extra hour. We're hoping to have more on this very soon.
- While nothing is confirmed yet, several sources are reporting that WWE has re-signed NJPW star Giant Bernard. Bernard is known in the United States for his previous run in the WWF/WWE under the names Prince Albert, Albert, and A-Train. He was released from his contract in November of 2004.
- On Saturday, it was revealed through the Twitter page of ION Television (@iontv) that they have partnered with WWE for a new one-hour show. No details have been released for this new show other than a start date of April 4th, the Wednesday after WrestleMania XXVIII. A full press release is expected sometime in the next few weeks.

A nice title retain for Hunico and Epico in the YouTube Pre-Show, but I would like to see Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd take the gold eventually, but on actual TV. Brilliant Steel Cage Match here and I'm happy to see Daniel Bryan with the victory. I actually wonder if you'll take Daniel Bryan all the way to WrestleMania? Maybe he will cash in on the WWE Champion, CM Punk? I'm excited to see what you do with him. I was hoping that Natalya was going to take the Divas Championship here, but Beth Phoenix with the win is just as good, I guess. In what seemed like an obvious victory, Kane retains the World Heavyweight Championship. I just don't see Cody Rhodes as being ready for that just yet, but maybe soon if you build him. I think maybe this Triple H segment should have gone on tomorrow's three-hour Raw, but maybe that's just me. Nice involvement for John Cena, though. Makes me wonder... As expected, CM Punk retains the WWE Championship as Edge shows no favourites. I wonder where this takes Edge and Christian, though. I hope you don't plan on bringing Edge back, as much as I would love it, it just wouldn't be worth the risk. Loved the Royal Rumble Match and glad to see you kept Road Dogg involved, but added Diamond Dallas Page to make it your own. I see The Miz/Mick Foley feud continues, also. I think leaving it down to Sheamus and Wade Barrett made it obvious that Wade was taking the victory as I didn't see you going down the route WWE did. I'm glad Barrett won, I see him as a future Champion for sure, and I think he'll have a great WrestleMania match with whoever the World Heavyweight Champion may be at the time. A good show, nicely done.

RAW Supershow | January 30th, 2012 | Kansas City, MO
WWE Superstars 2/2 Taping Results Michael McGillicutty def. Derrick Bateman Heath Slater def. Alex Riley
After the WWE signature, we cut to the arena as the theme of John Cena hit to a mixed reaction. He made his way out to the stage for the time on RAW in a month, as we last saw him striking WWE COO Triple H. A strike that would result in a four week suspension for him. Cena ran down to the ring as he grabbed a mic, taking in the audience's response. He said that it was exactly four weeks ago that he took a stand for himself against one Triple H. It was a stand that would end up temporarily taking away the one thing that he loves more than anything else in the world, and that's entertaining the WWE Universe. And through his absence, Triple H has made himself seem like the victim, when it actuality, he was the perpetrator. Cena then turned his attention to the WrestleMania XXVIII sign. Hunter told him to his face that he does not have what it to takes to beat Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson at WrestleMania. And that the only he'll be able to do so is by "embracing the hate." And what Triple H meant by that is that he needs to turn his back on the fans. Turn his back on those who have helped him get to where he is today. Let those who come to WWE events with "Cena Sucks" signs get to him. What Triple H fails to realize is that the boos don't phase him. If people choose to hate him, that's fine. He can't change their minds. But for those who root him on, they mean the world to him and he would never throw that away. More mixed reactions for him. But last night, he approached Triple H face to face and asked him one simple question that the world has been wondering. Why won't he accept the Undertaker's challenge for a match at WrestleMania? It's kind of funny. Last year, Hunter was the one who stepped up to the plate and issued the challenge. But last Monday, when Undertaker made the approach, he backed away. The sad part is he knows why Triple H did so, and that's because he doesn't feel that he can beat the Undertaker. "Hunter, you want me to embrace the hate? You need to embrace the Undertaker's challenge."
Before Cena could continue, the theme of Wade Barrett hit. The winner of the 2012 Royal Rumble made his way out to the stage as pyro blasted in celebration. He told Cena that nobody at this moment cares to hear from him about Triple H, embracing hate, or the Undertaker. Right now, the only person the world cares to listen to is the man who outlasted 29 other superstars last night and is on his way to becoming the first English-born champion at WrestleMania XXVIII. "So Cena, get out of my ring and allow the world to kneel to the feet of their next champion." Cena stared at Wade for a bit before telling him that in case he didn't learn from their Nexus days, you don't demand anything from him. If he wants him out of "his" ring, then take him out. As Barrett was marching down to the ring, John Laurinaitis appeared on the titantron. He said that he won't allow this situation to get out of hand right now. If Cena and Barrett want to get their hands on each other, then they can do so later on tonight. The audience popped at that announcement. Cena's music hit as he posed in the ring, Barrett looking on as an old rivalry will be renewed. The returning John Cena vs. the 2012 Royal Rumble winner Wade Barrett, tonight on RAW Supershow.
Turning the attention to Michael Cole and Jerry "The King" Lawler, the commentary duo welcomed everyone to a special 3-hour edition of RAW Supershow. As we just learned, John Cena and Wade Barrett will go one on one tonight. On top of that, we have the Elimination Chamber qualifying matches. After retaining the WWE Championship last night at the Royal Rumble, CM Punk has already solidified his spot in the Chamber. Tonight, we will find out the five men who steps into Satan's Playground with Punk for the WWE Championship.
BREAK
Rob Van Dam def. John Morrison in an Elimination Chamber Qualifier A very solid way to kick off this 3-hour edition of RAW. Two of the flashiest, most exciting stars RAW has to offer battled it out to secure the second spot in the Elimination Chamber match. As Morrison was coming off with a Springboard Clothesline, Van Dam managed to deliver a spinning heel kick, catching Morrison in the rib area. With Morrison down on the mat, Van Dam headed up to the top rope and delivered a Five Star Frog Splash to take the victory.
The audience showed their approval for the result as Van Dam stepped onto the second rope, doing his signature thumb taunt. An updated graphic for the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber match was shown as we now know that RVD will be in there as one of five challengers for CM Punk's WWE Title.
Cutting backstage, John Laurinaitis was shown in his office with Evan Bourne and David Otunga as the two are prepared to face one another in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match. "I can hardly wait. People Power's two biggest supporters for a spot in the Elimination Chamber? It's gonna be one of the greatest matches we've ever seen," raved the Executive VP of Talent Relations and RAW General Manager. As Bourne made his way out of the room, Laurinaitis stopped Otunga to have a small talk with him. He said that Evan is the guy that he wants to become the face of Monday Night RAW. In order for that happen, he needs to get into that Elimination Chamber match. "David, I've never asked for anything from you. But, I would appreciate it if you dropped this match to Evan." Otunga stared at Laurinaitis in disbelief, showing hesitance. Laurinaitis told him that more opportunities will come later, but it's Evan's time. "Just go out there, lay down, take the loss, and watch as Bourne become the new WWE Champion at Elimination Chamber." Otunga remained silent for a bit before letting out a very faint "Sure."
BREAK
A screen shot of WWE.com's homepage was shown, featuring a picture of Wade Barrett standing tall in the ring as he stared at the WrestleMania XXVIII. You can catch the encore presentation of the Royal Rumble all week long.
Evan Bourne def. David Otunga in an Elimination Chamber Qualifier With what John Laurinaitis told him before the commercial break, it was obvious why Otunga was not looking forward to this match. After the bell sounded, the two stared at each other as Bourne made a gesture with his arms for Otunga to lay down. It was clear he didn't want to do so, but he had no choice as it was the orders of Laurinaitis. Otunga laid down as Bourne covered him to get the victory.
Evan raised his arms and shouted in excitement as if he had just won a hard fought battle, when in actuality, all he did was cover Otunga. As Evan celebrated, Otunga made his way up the ramp, looking as if he were ashamed of what he did. Nonetheless, John Laurinaitis will be getting what he wants as his hand picked "future of Monday Night RAW" will be advancing on to the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship.
Backstage, Josh Mathews was standing by with Alberto Del Rio. Josh asked Del Rio for his thoughts on not living up to his promise to win back-to-back Royal Rumble winners. Del Rio said that he had this year's Royal Rumble won since his victory last year. This was supposed to be his moment. The first step towards his destiny. But that didn't happen because of one man - Sin Cara. If Sin Cara were standing in front of him, he would finish what he started at the Royal Rumble. But, he's not going to worry about that right now. Because he still has his shot at destiny when he qualifies for the Elimination Chamber match.
A graphic was shown for tonight's main event. After serving his four week suspension, John Cena is back on RAW and will take on the winner of last night's Royal Rumble match, Wade Barrett.
BREAK
Returning to RAW, Evan Bourne was shown walking into the office of John Laurinaitis, the GM of RAW congratulating him. "And guess what? Remember last week, you asked me to find protection for you?" Laurinaitis told Evan that he searched throughout the entire world and finally found him a bodyguard. He should be here next week, and once the world gets a glimpse of this monster, no one will ever think of pushing his buttons. David Otunga soon walked in as Laurinaitis told him "Great job out there, David. I knew I could trust you." He then asked for David to go get them coffee. With Evan Bourne as Laurinaitis' vision of the future, it seems that Otunga is being treated as more of a servant than anything else.
United States Champion Zack Ryder def. Alberto Del Rio in an Elimination Chamber Qualifier Not a bad match to round out the first of three hours here tonight on RAW. After failing to win the Royal Rumble for the second year in a row, Del Rio was looking to make a huge statement. The United States Champion wouldn't allow that, looking to redeem himself after surviving around 45 minutes in the Royal Rumble, only to come up short. Towards the finish, Del Rio dodged a flying clothesline from Ryder as he caught the referee. Turning around, Ryder was caught with an Enziguri that would've put him away. As Del Rio tried reviving the referee, Sin Cara ran down to ringside. He springboarded off of the top rope, hitting Del Rio with a crossbody. The International Sensation quickly made his way back up the entrance ramp, satisfied with his revenge on Del Rio. The Mexican Aristocrat slowly stirred to his feet, but was back down on the mat after being on the recipient end of a Rough Ryder. The referee slowly made the three count.
The audience here in Kansas City erupted following the match. Ryder was handed back his United States Championship as a name plate appeared on the screen, announcing him as the next superstar to qualify for the Elimination Chamber. Sin Cara remained on the stage, looking on as he knew he cost Alberto Del Rio his final opportunity to headline WrestleMania once again. An updated graphic was shown as we know that Zack Ryder, Evan Bourne, and Rob Van Dam will all be vying for CM Punk's WWE Championship inside the Elimination Chamber.
Cutting backstage, John Laurinaitis was shown in his office when The Miz walked in. "Don't worry. I found the guy in the production crew who played Foley's music last night." Miz stared at Lauriniatis for a bit, saying that won't help him get back to the main event of WrestleMania. What he wants to know is who he will be facing tonight in his Elimination Chamber qualifier. Before Laurinaitis could give him an answer, R-Truth walked into the room. "Johnny, I got something you'll wanna hear. After watching the tape over and over again of my elimination in the Royal Rumble, I came to a definitive conclusion. Lil' Jimmy eliminated me. And since Lil' Jimmy isn't a real person, I was eliminated by nobody. So therefore, I was never eliminated." Miz and Laurinaitis both stared at Truth in confusion. Laurinaitis said that while that's a fascinating theory, he's glad that the both of them are here. Their Elimination Chamber qualifying matches will be against......... each other. Truth tried to talk Laurinaitis out of it, but Miz didn't care. He told Truth that after what happened to him at the Royal Rumble last night, he doesn't give a damn who he has to face to get into the Elimination Chamber.
BREAK
A promo was shown for this Friday's edition of SmackDown. After a wild and chaotic World Heavyweight Title match, the Big Red Monster still stands tall as the champion. But his next challenge comes in the form of the diabolical structure known as the Elimination Chamber. Who will qualify for the opportunity to go through hell and back to walk into WrestleMania as the World Heavyweight Champion?
The Bella Twins def. Kelly Kelly and Eve A small breather from the Elimination Chamber qualifiers. All four of these Divas would like to have their names in contention for a shot at the Divas Championship, so a win here would do any of them wonders. After a bit of Twin Magic, Brie rolled Kelly up to get the victory.
Brie rolled out of the ring as she helped Nikki up, the two twins celebrating their victory. Kelly was shown looking on, though Eve had a different look on her face - one of disappointment towards her own tag team partner.
Cutting backstage, Divas Champion Beth Phoenix was shown watching the aftermath of the previous match as Josh Mathews approached her, asking for her thoughts. Beth held up the Divas Championship, asking Josh to look at it and tell her what he sees. "It's a championship," said Josh. "You're exactly right. It's a championship. However, it hasn't been viewed as one for quite some time. It's Divas like Kelly Kelly and Eve who give this championship and the entire division a bad reputation. This division shouldn't be about who looks better. It should be about who can get the job done in that ring. That's where I come in. I've held this championship for nearly 4 months now, and in that short time, I've made this title more important than it's been in its entire 4 year existence. And I will continue to do that. I will single handedly make the Divas division the most decorated division in all of the WWE." Beth received a mixed reaction for her words as she left the interview area.
Returning to ringside, the broadcast team of Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler were shown as the time has now come to reveal the first inductee in this year's Hall Of Fame. A video package aired, revealing the Rated R Superstar Edge as the first superstar this year who will be taking their rightful spot in the WWE Hall Of Fame. Following the video presentation, the audience chanted "Thank you Edge" as Cole informed us that Edge will be hosting "The Cutting Edge" later on tonight to speak about this induction.
BREAK
Dolph Ziggler def. Santino Marella in an Elimination Chamber Qualifier This was not even a fair match as Ziggler ambushed Santino during his entrance, tossing him into the steel steps before taking the action into the ring. From there, Ziggler dominated him the entire match, "Showing off" as he would put it. Santino slowly stirred to his feet as Dolph planted him with the Zig Zag to get the victory.
Ziggler raised his arms in victory as Vickie joined him in the ring, the two standing over Santino. "Damn, I'm good!" shouted Ziggler as a graphic appeared, placing him in the Elimination Chamber match with United States Champion Zack Ryder, Evan Bourne, Rob Van Dam, and WWE Champion CM Punk.
The Miz was shown making his way down to the ring. After failing to win the Royal Rumble match as the #30 entrant, he has a chance to qualify for the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber match when he meets his own tag team partner, R-Truth, next.
BREAK
Returning from the commercial break, Kelly Kelly was shown walking around backstage, apparently looking for Eve. She eventually found her, asking why she didn't wait for her after their match? "Kelly, I'm tired. And I don't mean sleep-related tired. I'm tired of all of this. Me having to look after your back. I shouldn't be taking these losses when they're all your fault." Eve left the scene, leaving Kelly in confusion and shock at her friend's words.
R-Truth def. The Miz in an Elimination Chamber Qualifier Despite both men being tag team partners, it was clear they had no issue going through one another to get to the Elimination Chamber match. As Miz was going for the Skull Crushing Finale, Truth managed to counter it and rolled him up to get the victory.
Truth quickly rolled out of the ring as the officials raised his hand, a nameplate appearing as he has qualified for the Elimination Chamber match. The Miz was shown in the ring in disbelief, a sight similar to his elimination in the Royal Rumble match last night. Truth made his way up the ramp, not caring much to check on Miz.
An updated graphic was shown as the Elimination Chamber match is now filled. In three weeks, CM Punk will defend the WWE Championship against Rob Van Dam, Evan Bourne, United States Champion Zack Ryder, Dolph Ziggler, and R-Truth. The winner will be able to say that they walked out of the hell known as the Elimination Chamber and into the heaven known as WrestleMania XXVIII as the WWE Champion.
BREAK
Returning to RAW, The Miz was shown still in the ring as several officials were trying to reason with and get him out of the ring. He then turned his attention to the commentators, approaching Jerry Lawler. Lawler has made a comment about Miz's WrestleMania dreams being shattered, which he may have heard. Miz got in Lawler's face, telling him that he and the entire world better mark his words. "I WILL main event WrestleMania." Miz angrily made his way up the ramp as both Cole and Lawler were left confused. Miz failed to win the Royal Rumble and qualify for the Elimination Chamber match. How can he still claim that he will main event WrestleMania XXVIII.
Cutting backstage, Edge was shown making his into the arena. Josh Mathews approached the Rated R Superstar, congratulating him on the Hall Of Fame induction. We understand he will be hosting the Cutting Edge tonight, but what for? "Well, Josh, I have a few things I want to address. Obviously, the Hall Of Fame, but also the two men whose match I officiated last night." Edge continued on, leaving everyone to wonder just what he will have to say to CM Punk and Christian.
Brodus Clay def. Jinder Mahal Despite failing to win the Royal Rumble last night, the Funkasaurus was in as cheerful of a mood as ever as he danced his both down to the ring and in the match as he managed to quickly put Mahal away with the Running Splash.
Backstage, Eve was shown walking down a hallway when John Laurinaitis approached her. He said that he couldn't help but notice the tone of voice she had when talking to Kelly Kelly earlier. "Yeah, I just had to vent. I'm tired of this. Beth is right. This division needs a change." Laurinaitis agreed with Eve before asking her to come into his office. "Let's talk business," said the RAW General Manager.
Cutting to another camera, John Cena was shown making his way down to the ring. He meets the Royal Rumble winner, Wade Barrett, next on RAW.
BREAK
A promo was shown for Elimination Chamber, live Sunday February 19th, only on Pay-Per-View.
John Cena def. Wade Barrett via DQ A pretty good bout to wrap up the in-ring side of things for this huge 3-hour RAW. These two had plenty of issues back during the days of Nexus, so they knew what to expect from one another. The momentum that Wade carried after winning the Royal Rumble last night seemed too much for Cena to overcome, but he managed to find a last bit of strength down inside of him to take control. As he had Barrett on his shoulders for the Attitude Adjustment, he was attacked from behind by Triple H as the referee called for the bell.
Triple H continued his assault on Cena throughout the sound of the bell, eventually getting a bit of help from Barrett. The 2012 Royal Rumble hoisted Cena up to his shoulders, dropping him with Wasteland before heading up the entrance ramp. Triple H stood over Cena in the ring before grabbing a microphone. "Fine, Cena. You want this? You've got it. Me and you at Elimination Chamber. One way or another, John, you will embrace the hate." Hunter threw the mic to the mat, standing tall over Cena with his arms raised high.
Cutting to the backstage area, Edge was shown leaving his locker room. The first inductee in the 2012 Hall Of Fame will host a very special edition of the Cutting Edge, next.
BREAK
Returning to RAW, a recap of the events that just transpired were shown. Both Triple H and Wade Barrett left Cena out in the middle of the ring, leading to a challenge issued by the Game. Michael Cole then informed the viewers at home that he was given word during the commercial break that the match we just learned of is now official. In three weeks at Elimination Chamber, John Cena will go one on one with Triple H, the last Pay-Per-View bout for Cena before the biggest match of his career at WrestleMania XXVIII.
The theme of Edge hit as the audience erupted, giving the first inductee into the 2012 Hall Of Fame a standing ovation. He made his way out to the ring, which was set up for the Cutting Edge. He quickly noticed that there were two steel chairs in the ring, rather than the stools that are usually there. "I'm going into the Hall Of Fame and I can't get any better chairs?" said Edge as the audience shared a laugh with him. He said that he didn't find out about his induction until the rest of the world did, and honored doesn't even begin to describe the feeling. He only retired a little less than a year ago, so to even be considered for the Hall Of Fame this year is very flattering. "But, I think I've said enough about the Ha-" suddenly, "Cult Of Personality" blasted as the WWE Champion CM Punk made his way down to the ring. As the audience chanted Punk's name, he and Edge met face to face, not saying a word for quite some time. "I'm sorry, Edge. I'm sorry that I doubted your motives for the Royal Rumble." Edge then asked Punk if he's sorry for slapping him. Punk said no, but he is sorry for ever doubting someone like him who deserves a spot in the Hall Of Fame just as much as anyone else. Punk extended his hand to Edge, who accepted the handshake as the crowd applauded the two. Punk made his way back up the entrance ramp, leaving Edge to deal with the other half of the WWE Championship match last night.
"Christian, I know you're back there and I know you can hear me. I've avoided speaking to you up until now, so if you could please come on down to the ring." Moments later, Christian did so. He met Edge in the ring, smiling as he seemed genuinely happy for his best friend's induction. He told Edge that he's not going to lie, it would be pretty sweet to be standing here as the WWE Champion. However, he's not going to blame him for the loss. After all, he was the referee and had a job to do. And he did that job pretty good. He knows that there will be more opportunities at the WWE Championship, but this moment isn't about him or the title. This about Edge and his Hall Of Fame induction. "So what do you say we give these people something special one last time." Edge's face lit up with a smile, relived that everything is fine between he and his best friend. "You mean something that reeks of awesomeness?" said Edge as the audience popped. Christian nodded in approval. "So for the benefit of those with flash photography..." said Edge, not knowing what to call this pose. Christian said that the pose is called "One of the greatest superstars to ever live." The pose was simply Edge staring at the audience, putting the rock horns in the air. As he was doing that, Christian took one of the steel chairs and blasted Edge in the back with it. The entire arena was stunned as Christian stared down at Edge, mouthing the words "sorry son of a bitch." Christian then took the other steel chair and placed it under Edge's face, hitting him with a vicious conchairto. He raised the chair above his head, looking to hit the conchairto once again. Suddenly, United States Champion Zack Ryder hit the ring as Christian dropped the chair and hurried up the entrance ramp. Ryder quickly checked on his former mentor, who was motionless in the ring. More medical assistance came down to the ring for Edge as Ryder stared back at Christian, fuming about what he just did to the man he considered to be his best friend.

WWE RAW Supershow Solid opening promo with John Cena's first RAW appearance in a month. Smart move throwing Barrett in the promo as he keeps the Royal Rumble winner relevant. Barrett/Cena tonight should be fun. Van Dam versus Morrison would be an exciting way to kick off the show. My only complaint being is Morrison being out since he works well in those matches. Evan Bourne versus Otunga as an interesting mix because of their support for People Power, Otunga laying down for Evan was a nice way to get heat on Bourne. I can't stand Del Rio, but I'll admit a feud with Sin Cara sounds nice. Has Ryback debuted in this diary yet? I expect him to be the bodyguard. Ryder going in over Del Rio was nice, hopefully he does well in the chamber. Truth/Miz tonight? Alright. Don't care for the Divas match, but now I see Eve's heel turn starting. Obvious for Ziggler to go over Santino in this, Ziggler is just simply a must for the chamber. Eh, I'd rather have Miz in the chamber over Truth. At least this is a leading to a storyline. The chamber looks nice, but it doesn't feel as big as it could be. CM Punk is easily going to retain, too. Can't wait for the Cutting Edge. Basic win for Brodus Clay over Jinder, hopefully Brodus starts doing something after Wrestlemania. Yeah the Eve heel turn is in full effect now. Good main event and Triple H versus John at Elimination Chamber is HUGE. That's probably going to be the main event if I didn't know any better. I just don't feel like Hunter works that well in the "Embrace the Hate" storyline, but I guess he is the Cerebral Assassin. Good way to close the show with the Cutting Edge. What I hated was CM Punk walking away. It's just not a very Punk like thing to do. It served it's purpose for Christian's attack, however. I'm interested into seeing where you're going to take this seeing as Edge can't wrestle. Good show, solid build for Elimination Chamber.

Friday Night SmackDown! | February 3rd, 2012 | Omaha, NEWWE Superstars 2/2 Taping Results Johnny Curtis def. Yoshi Tatsu AJ def. Maxine
- Pyro blasted from the stage as cameras scanned the audience here in Omaha. The commentary unit of Michael Cole, Josh Mathews, and Booker T welcomed everyone to Friday Night SmackDown! Coming off the heels of the Royal Rumble this past Sunday, we look ahead to the Elimination Chamber in three weeks. A graphic was shown for the World Heavyweight Championship Chamber match, in which the only competitor we know of thus far is the defending champion, Kane. Tonight, we will find out which five SmackDown superstars will join the Big Red Monster in the demonic structure known as the Elimination Chamber.
- Sending things over to Tony Chimel, he announced that the following contest is an Elimination Chamber qualifying match. The theme of Sheamus hit as a nice pop emerged from the audience. The Intercontinental Champion made his way out to the ring, still struggling to deal with the fact that he came closer than anyone else to winning the Royal Rumble match. Nonetheless, he has another opportunity at the chance to headline WrestleMania XXVIII. Mark Henry made his entrance next, receiving a reaction opposite to that of Sheamus'. After being defeated by Daniel Bryan at the Royal Rumble, this is the World's Strongest Man's chance to redeem himself.
- INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION SHEAMUS DEF. MARK HENRY IN AN ELIMINATION CHAMBER QUALIFIER: A brutal, hard hitting match to kick off the Royal Rumble fallout edition of SmackDown. Both men were desperate for a spot in the Elimination Chamber and proved it with their performances. After sliding off of Henry's arms during a World's Strongest Slam attempt, Sheamus hit him with a huge Brogue Kick to pick up the victory.
- The audience popped as Sheamus was handed back his Intercontinental Championship, a nameplate appearing to announce him as the first of five men to qualify for the Elimination Chamber Match. Sheamus now joins Kane in Satan's Playground with the hopes of walking into Miami as the World Heavyweight Champion. After Sheamus made his way to the back, Henry grabbed a microphone. He shouted that this was all crap. Him losing to Daniel Bryan, and now losing to Sheamus. Teddy Long knows that he's the only man worthy of carrying the World Heavyweight Championship into WrestleMania, so he wants him to come down and do the right thing. Reverse this decision and put him in the Elimination Chamber. The SmackDown GM made his way down to the ring, but informed Henry that he can't do that. Sheamus earned his spot, and he will be going into the Elimination Chamber. "I'm sorry, Mark, but there's nothing I can do for you." As Teddy tried to leave, Henry grabbed him and planted the GM with the World's Strongest Slam! He looked down at Teddy, who was motionless as several referees hit the ring to try and calm Henry down. He made his way to the back, still fuming about everything. The referees checked on Teddy, who still had not moved.
- COMMERCIAL BREAK
- Returning to SmackDown, Teddy Long was shown be placed onto a stretcher after what had just happened. A replay showed the General Manager being the victim of a World's Strongest Slam from Mark Henry. While many have to wondering about the condition of Teddy, we also have to wonder about the consequences for Henry's actions.
- Backstage, Chris Jericho was shown in his locker room when Scott Stanford walked in, asking for his thoughts on what just happened to Teddy Long? "Do you think I give a damn about Teddy Long? All I care about at this point of time is the Elimination Chamber, which I will qualify for tonight. But I'm not stopping there. I'm going to win the Elimination Chamber, become World Heavyweight Champion, and both walk into and leave WrestleMania XXVIII with it."
- JUSTIN GABRIEL AND TYSON KIDD DEF. WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS HUNICO AND EPICO: A non-title rematch from this past Sunday's Royal Rumble pre-show. After failing to capture the gold, Gabriel and Kidd were on a mission to prove themselves worthy of another opportunity. And they managed to do so after Gabriel put Hunico away with a 450 Splash.
- Gabriel and Kidd celebrated their victory with the rest of the WWE Universe as Hunico, Epico, and Primo all headed up the entrance ramp, taunting the triumphant team with the WWE Tag Team Championships, saying they will be theirs. While they're not Gabriel and Kidd's at the moment, this victory may have implications on a future shot.
- Backstage, Teddy Long was shown being loaded into a stretcher, having regained a bit of consciousness. Suddenly, Cody Rhodes stopped the medics from closing the door as he stepped into the ambulance, putting a small halt. He told Teddy that he knows damn well he can beat Kane and become World Heavyweight Champion, so he's demanding a spot in the Elimination Chamber. Teddy, not able to speak much, told Rhodes that this is not the time or place for this. But if Rhodes wants Kane that bad, he's got him. A non-title match tonight. If Rhodes wins, he's in the Elimination Chamber. "Thank you, Teddy" said Rhodes before patting the GM on his stomach, only causing more pain for him.
- COMMERCIAL BREAK
- Returning from the commercial break, the commentary unit quickly recapped Teddy Long's brief announcement before leaving to a nearby hospital. In a Royal Rumble rematch, Cody Rhodes will go one on one with World Heavyweight Champion Kane. And if Cody can win, he'll solidify his spot in the Elimination Chamber Match. Speaking of the Chamber, we're set for another qualifying match right now.
- DEAN AMBROSE DEF. TED DIBIASE IN AN ELIMINATION CHAMBER QUALIFIER: For weeks, Ambrose vowed to win the Royal Rumble match. While he did last an astounding 57 minutes, he still came up shot. The psychotic newcomer was able to make up for it as caught DiBiase with a Knee Trembler to move on to the Elimination Chamber.
- Ambrose stared into the sky as he raised his arms in victory, knowing that he still has a chance to make the impact that he's been looking for. An updated graphic for the Elimination Chamber match appeared, placing Ambrose in the mix of things with Sheamus and the defending champion, Kane. While Ambrose may be the least experienced, Cole stated that he believes he'll be right at home in such a diabolical structure.
- Backstage, we saw a shot of Sin Cara, his back turned as he put his mask on. The ever exciting high flyer has the chance to qualify for the Elimination Chamber as he meets Chris Jericho, next.
- COMMERCIAL BREAK
- Returning to SmackDown, Michael Cole informed the viewers at home that Teddy Long did arrive to a nearby medical facility and is currently being treated for what we understand to be numerous back injuries. Throughout of all this, you have to wonder about Mark Henry. "He's getting fired and he deserves it," said Booker.
- CHRIS JERICHO DEF SIN CARA IN AN ELIMINATION CHAMBER QUALIFIER: An absolutely exhilarating bout here. Both Jericho and Cara were desperate for the spot in the Chamber after failing to win the Royal Rumble. But it was Y2J who would receive a shot at redemption as he caught Cara in mid-air with a Codebreaker to pick up the victory.
- The audience showed their disapproval for the finish as Jericho raised his arms in victory, knowing he has another chance to go to WrestleMania. The Elimination Chamber graphic was shown with World Heavyweight Champion Kane, Intercontinental Champion Sheamus, Dean Ambrose, and now Chris Jericho. After Jericho made his way to the back, Sin Cara stirred to his feet as the crowd gave him a standing ovation for his performance. He waved to the audience before he was blindsided by Alberto Del Rio. Because of what happened at both the Royal Rumble and RAW this past Monday, Del Rio let all of his frustrations out, tossing Sin Cara repeatedly back-first into the steel ring post. He then locked in the Cross Armbreaker, violently pulling his arm as Cara submitted. Del Rio soon released the hold, staring down at the fallen Cara as the audience showered the Mexican Aristocrat with boos.
- COMMERCIAL BREAK
- At this time, the RAW Rebound was shown. During the 3-hour broadcast, it was announced that Edge will be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame, taking place the night before WrestleMania XXVIII. He hosted a special edition of the Cutting Edge to speak on his induction, as well as the WWE Championship match at the Royal Rumble that he officiated. WWE Champion CM Punk apologized to Edge for having ever doubted him, but Christian's response was a bit different. He acted as if he weren't bothered by the outcome as he celebrated Edge's Hall Of Fame announcement. However, he later showed his true colors as he hit his best friend with a Conchairto. Before he could continue his assault, United States Champion Zack Ryder made the save. He tended to his former mentor as Christian looked on, not caring one bit for his actions.
- Cutting back to the arena, the theme of Daniel Bryan as SmackDown's Mr. Money In The Bank, along with AJ, made their way out to a huge reaction from the audience. Bryan raised the briefcase high in the air as he stared at the WrestleMania XXVIII, knowing he's almost there. He grabbed a microphone, saying that beating Mark Henry at the Royal Rumble was the best feeling he's had since capturing the briefcase. Even though he did tell someone to stay home, looking directly at AJ, he's glad with the way things they want. Everything thing looks set now. He's on his way to WrestleMania to cash in the Money In The Bank briefcase and do something that nobody ever thought was possible for him to achieve, and that's become World Heavyweight Champion. Soon, Bryan was interrupted by the arrival of Wade Barrett. The 2012 Royal Rumble winner stood on the stage, giving Bryan a sarcastic applause. He congratulated Bryan on his victory at the Royal Rumble. "After all, that was the most historic moment in Royal Rumble history. Your match is what everyone was talking about, right? No. The world was, and still is, buzzing about Wade Barrett standing tall and winning the Royal Rumble. And I didn't need a 14 year old girl to do it." AJ smirked at Barrett, Bryan telling him that he does deserve an applause for winning the Royal Rumble. But now, he needs to focus on the WWE Championship. "That's exactly what I though you'd say, Bryan. What makes you think I'm going for the WWE Championship?" He said that while he has yet to make his decision for what championship he will go after at WrestleMania, Bryan needs to realize the truth. Ever since he captured that briefcase last July, he was always under the assumption that he would receive a one on one World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania. But he needs to understand that great possibility for him choosing the World Title. In which case, it would be a Triple Threat Match. "Bryan, if I do go after the World Heavyweight Championship, understand this. You will not become champion, because I will." Barrett left to the back, leaving Bryan to wonder whether or not Barrett will indeed make his World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania a Triple Threat match, rather than the standard singles match he's been anticipating.
- COMMERCIAL BREAK
- Returning to SmackDown, a graphic was shown with a huge announcement. Because of their victory earlier tonight, Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd will receive another WWE Tag Team Championship match next week as they take on Primo and Epico here on SmackDown.
- RANDY ORTON DEF. DREW MCINTYRE IN AN ELIMINATION CHAMBER QUALIFIER: With all of the momentum on his side in his hometown, the Viper still did not manage to win the Royal Rumble this past Sunday. Orton was looking to let all of those frustrations out on McIntyre, and he did so to solidify the fifth spot in the Elimination Chamber match.
- The audience stood to their feet as Orton raised his arms in victory, knowing he has one more chance to go to WrestleMania. An updated graphic was shown as Orton joins Dean Ambrose, Chris Jericho, and Intercontinental Championship Sheamus as four of the five challengers for Kane's World Heavyweight Championship in the Elimination Chamber.
- Speaking of the World Heavyweight Championship, Kane was shown making his way down to the ring. In a Royal Rumble rematch, he will attempt to stop Cody Rhodes from qualifying for the Elimination Chamber match. It's out main event, next.
- COMMERCIAL BREAK
- A promo was shown for Elimination Chamber, live Sunday February 19th, only on Pay-Per-View.
- CODY RHODES DEF. WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION KANE VIA COUNTOUT:While similar to their bout at the Royal Rumble, still a solid encounter to close out SmackDown. As Kane was preparing a Chokeslam, Cody could see him on the titantron as he rolled out of the ring. He made his way up the entrance ramp as the referee began the count. Kane went after him as the two brawled briefly on the ramp. Kane grabbed Cody's throat and lifted him up, but Rhodes caught him with a thumb to the eye. The referee was at six as Rhodes hurried to the ring. Kane was still after him, but Rhodes was able to hit Beautiful Disaster from the ring apron. With Kane down on the floor, Rhodes quickly slid back into the ring as the referee's count reached ten.
- Rhodes quickly slid out of the ring as Kane was back on him, though couldn't reach the ten count in time. Rhodes was announced as the winner as he celebrated his victory on the stage. Because of this, Cody will now have another opportunity at the World Heavyweight Championship as he takes the sixth and final spot in the Elimination Chamber match. The final graphic for the match was shown as it will be Kane, Intercontinental Champion Sheamus, Dean Ambrose, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, and Cody Rhodes who battle it out for the World Heavyweight Championship in the diabolical structure that is the Elimination Chamber.

Immediately noticed how different this was from real life, which is a good thing. Elimination Chamber is shaping up quite nicely. I'm very surprised with the Elimination Chamber participants, especially Evan Bourne and Zack Ryder in the WWE title Chamber and Ambrose in the WHC chamber. I love Ambrose so I like that you're giving him these opportunities. Smackdown was solid. You managed to make some interesting qualifying matches. Orton-McIntyre and Jericho-Sin Cara were two that I liked. What i'm really hoping for his Barrett-Bryan-Jericho at Mania. God, what a triple threat. What a story that would make, with Jericho having mentored Barrett on NXT and Bryan using his MITB to cash in. I'm very interested to see where you go with this. Good show, I'll be reading.

RAW Supershow | February 6th, 2012 | Oklahoma City, OKWWE Superstars 2/9 Taping Results Natalya def. Tamina Alberto Del Rio def. Alex Riley
- Following the WWE signature intro, a video package was shown that took us back t o the events at the conclusion of last week's 3-hour edition of Monday Night RAW. It was revealed earlier in the show that the Rated R Superstar Edge will be one of this year's inductees in the WWE Hall Of Fame. He spoke about the induction on an edition of the Cutting Edge, eventually meeting WWE Champion CM Punk face to face. Punk apologized to Edge for having doubted his motives when officiating the WWE Championship match at the Royal Rumble. It wasn't over for the Rated R Superstar at that point as he had to deal with the man who lost, Christian. Captain Charisma acted supportive of Edge, claiming there that he held no grudge for the outcome. That all changed later on as he blasted Edge in the back with a steel chair, followed by a Conchairto. Before he could hit another, Zack Ryder made the save. Christian looked on at the damage he had done, but knew that Ryder was on his tail now.
- Cutting to the arena here in Oklahoma City, the theme of Zack Ryder hit as the United States Champion made his way out to the ring. He grabbed a microphone, saying that last week was supposed to be a special night. Without Edge, he wouldn't be where he is today. He owes his career to him and was ecstatic when it was announced that he would be going into the WWE Hall Of Fame this year. But Edge's night didn't end with him leaving as a legend. It ended with him leaving in an ambulance. And what makes matters worse is that it's all because of the man who Edge considered to be his best friend, Christian. Ryder said that he understands Christian wasn't happy with the outcome of his WWE Title match at the Royal Rumble, but to place the blame on a man who was simply doing his job is ridiculous. He hasn't seen Christian here tonight, but when he does, he's going to make him pay. "No jokes, Christian. I'm not going to fist pump your face or take you to the streets of Long Island. I'm just going to beat you like the bastard you are." Ryder then shifted gears, turning his attention to the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship in two weeks. Tonight's main event has huge implications on that match. It will be Six Pack Challenge between all of the participants. The winner will earn the right to enter the Elimination Chamber last. Ryder said that when people look at him, some don't see a future WWE Champion. He wants to prove them wrong. He's going to win the WWE Title, become a dual-champion, and live his lifelong dream of walking into WrestleMania as the man."Bravo, Ryder. But there's a problem there," said Evan Bourne as he made his way out to a ton of heat. He told Ryder that the first thing he and everyone else in the Elimination Chamber need to realize something. He's not only winning tonight's Six Pack Challenge, but is going to breeze through the Chamber. And with that, he'll be the one to walk into WrestleMania as WWE Champion. "And there's only two things that I would owe credit to for such an accomplish. Myself, and People Power!" Soon, Rob Van Dam entered the mix of things. He told Bourne that what he should know is that there is nobody in the Elimination Chamber match that benefits more from the surroundings than him. Plus, he was in the first Chamber match almost 10 years ago. "Probably about the same time you were popping zits," RVD said to Bourne. Before he could respond, R-Truth made his way out. He said that everyone is missing the point. It's him who is going to win both tonight's main event and the Elimination Chamber in two weeks. "I'm gonna walk into WrestleMania as WWE Champion and break the hearts of all the Lil' Jimmies. The conspiracy is about to get got!" Ryder told Truth that there is no conspiracy. There's a reason why this Elimination Chamber match is the closest he'll ever come to the WWE Championship. "It's not because you're crazy. It's because you suck, bro." Truth's crazy face came over him, but was soon interrupted by Dolph Ziggler. The Show-Off said that we're just wasting valuable TV time with all of this. "And by valuable TV time, I mean the time that could be given to most talented man in not just the Elimination Chamber, but the entire WWE as a whole. The man who will win the WWE Championship and carry it into WrestleMania. And his name is-" before Ziggler could finish, RVD cut him off by saying his own name. Ziggler and Van Dam got in each other's faces before Bourne went after Van Dam. Ryder went after Bourne before Truth got involved as the five of them brawled. "Cult Of Personality" hit as the audience erupted. WWE Champion CM Punk came out to the stage with a microphone, quickly saying "Don't start without me," before running down to the ring. All six of the Chamber participants went at it as referees hit the ring, trying to restrain everyone.
- COMMERCIAL BREAK
- Returning to RAW Supershow, the commentary duo quickly recapped the opening segment, ultimately leading to an all out brawl between the six Elimination Chamber participants. During the commercial break, order was restored as all six of them. Cole mentioned tonight's main event, which will be a Six Pack Challenge. The winner will enter the Elimination Chamber last and, arguably, have the best chance at walking into WrestleMania XXVIII with the WWE Championship.
- DANIEL BRYAN DEF. WADE BARRETT VIA DQ: Speaking of WrestleMania, here are the two men who will be receiving championship matches on the grandest stage of them all. Daniel Bryan, who will be cashing in his Money In The Bank contract, and Wade Barrett, the winner of the 2012 Royal Rumble. Last Friday on SmackDown, Barrett revealed the possibility of him challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship, meaning he would make Bryan's cash-in a Triple Threat Match. As Bryan was attempting to lock in the LeBell Lock, he was attacked from behind by The Miz!
- The bell sounded for the DQ finish as Miz continued his assault on Bryan, finishing him off with a Skull Crushing Finale on the outside. Miz then grabbed Bryan's Money In The Bank briefcase and ran off with it.
- COMMERCIAL BREAK
- Returning from the break, Miz was shown heading for the exit with Daniel Bryan's Money In The Bank briefcase. AJ stepped in the way of the door, asking where he was going with Bryan's briefcase. Miz told her that if her boyfriend wants it back, meet him on SmackDown. "Now get out of my way, little girl," said Miz before moving AJ out of the way and heading out of the arena.
- Cutting to another camera, Evan Bourne was shown in John Laurinaitis' office, asking when his bodyguard would be here. "Don't worry. He's on his way," assured Laurinaitis. The RAW General Manager then mentioned that he received some very exciting news earlier. In the absence of Teddy Long, he has been named the General Manager of SmackDown for this Friday. "Even if just for one night, the world will witness the brand expansion of People Power."
- DIVAS CHAMPION BETH PHOENIX DEF. KELLY KELLY VIA SUBMISSION: Last week, Beth Phoenix vowed to bring change to the Divas division. Change for the better as she described it. As Kelly looked to be in control of things, Eve made her way out to the stage, looking much different than usual. She was in a business attire, distracting Kelly long enough for Beth to lock in the Full Nelson, the same submission hold she used to defeat Natalya at the Royal Rumble. Kelly wasn't able to fight out of it as she submitted.
- Beth was handed her Divas Championship as she raised it high in the air, getting off to a good start on her vow to bring prestige back to the Divas division. Eve remained on the stage for a bit before John Laurinaitis made his way out. With Kelly looking on, Laurinaitis revealed to the world his new Executive Administrator, Eve.
- Backstage, WWE Champion CM Punk was shown watching from a TV monitor, saying "People Power my ass." Soon, United States Champion Zack Ryder walked in. He told Punk that they're cool and all, but he has to get something off of his chest. Last week, Punk apologized to Edge in the ring, and then left. After that, that's when everything went down hill. "Punk, I'm not trying to say this is your fault. But honestly, if you never left the ring, I don't think Edge would be in a hospital bed right now." Punk told Ryder that he did get one thing right, and that's that they're cool with each other. But he's not going to just stand around and let Ryder place the blame for Christian's actions on him. The only person to blame for what happened to Edge is Christian, and Ryder needs to get his head straight. "I'll see you out there tonight. And don't ever try to place the blame for something like that on me ever again, Zack."
- Cutting to another camera, John Cena was shown making his way down to the ring. He and Triple H will sign the contract for their match at Elimination Chamber, next.
- COMMERCIAL BREAK
- A promo was shown for this Friday's edition of SmackDown. With the six spots in the Elimination Chamber match filled, all participants will be in action as Randy Orton battles Cody Rhodes, Intercontinental Champion Sheamus meets Dean Ambrose, and the World Heavyweight Champion Kane takes on Chris Jericho. It happens on SmackDown, the Friday on SyFy.
- Returning to the arena, the theme of John Cena hit to another mixed reaction. He made his way out to the stage, taking in the reception before facing the camera and saying "I live for this." After running down to the ring, he took his seat as David Otunga watched over him, the monitor for this contract signing. Triple H made his way down to the ring soon, taking his seat as he and Cena stared at one another. Cena grabbed the pen first, flipping through the pages of the contract. "Hunter, before I sign this dotted line, I want you to take a look at what's behind me." Cena was referring to the WrestleMania XXVIII sign. "I have a match at WrestleMania. You don't. However, there's a very simple way for that to change, and that's to accept the Undertaker's challenge." Hunter said that Cena needs to focus on two things. Their match at Elimination Chamber, and being able to find recovery time between then and WrestleMania because he's going to need it after he steps into the ring with the King Of Kings. Don't worry about the Undertaker. "And why is that, Hunter? Is it because you know that if you stepped up to the plate again, you'd fall flat on your face, again?" Hunter stood up from his chair, leading Cena to do the same as we believed we'd see sparks fly. Otunga tried to calm the both of them down as Triple H sat back down. He told Cena that he wants to take back what he said earlier. There's actually three things that should be on his mind. Him, the Rock, and the hate. Cena doesn't want to listen to him because his ego won't allow it, but this is information that he needs to understand. If he doesn't beat the Rock, he loses everything. Everything that he has fought for throughout his near-10 years in the WWE will be gone in an instant. "You don't think I know that?" said Cena. "I know what's at stake. If I don't beat the Rock, I may as well never show my face in the WWE ever again because that's how ashamed of myself I'd be. But I don't have to worry about that. I will beat the Rock, and I will do it as the man I am today and have been for years. No 'embracing' needed, Hunter." Cena signed the contract, turning it over the the Game. Triple H told Cena that he's tried warning time after time. But it's unfortunate that nothing he says is registering in his big head. "Fine, don't take my advice. Go to WrestleMania, lose to the Rock, bring shame to yourself and this company. But don't say I didn't warn you." Triple H then signed the contract before leaving the ring. Cena picked up the microphone, saying he's a bit disappointed. He was expecting a pier 6 brawl to break out, and was looking forward to it. "Guess this will have to do," said Cena before hoisting Otunga to his shoulders, delivering an Attitude Adjustment through the table that was used for the signing. Cena did his signature pose in the ring as Triple H looked on, hoping to beat the "hate" out of him in two weeks at Elimination Chamber.
- COMMERCIAL BREAK
- Returning to RAW, John Morrison was shown making his way down to the ring as Cole and Lawler were joined at the announce desk by Alberto Del Rio. A graphic was then shown for Elimination Chamber, revealing the new match of Del Rio vs. Sin Cara. Cole asked the Mexican Aristocrat for his thoughts on this upcoming match with Sin Cara, to which he said that it's going to be a great pleasure to beat him all over the ring and show the world who the true Mexican icon of the WWE is.
- SIN CARA DEF. JOHN MORRISON: A very fast-paced, exciting bout here. Things haven't been going the way John Morrison would like as of late, so this was a chance at redemption for the Shaman Of Sexy. Sin Cara was able to thwart those plans after putting Morrison away with a Springboard Moonsault.
- Sin Cara celebrated his victory as the audience cheered him on, Del Rio standing up from his seat at the announce table. He talked a bit of trash to Cara, basically telling him that he has no chance at Elimination Chamber. Cara then ran the ropes, prompting Del Rio to pull Ricardo into his path. Sin Cara came crashing onto him with a Suicide Dive as Del Rio made his way up the entrance ramp, vowing to defeat Cara at Elimination Chamber.
- Cutting to the office of John Laurinaitis, he was shown giving a few directions to Eve about her new job as the Executive Administrator. Evan Bourne soon walked in, asking where his bodyguard was. Before Laurinaitis could answer him, David Otunga walked in while holding an ice pack to his lower back area. Laurinaitis asked him where he's been for the past 20 minutes. "Did you not see what happened out there. John Cena put me through a table! I'm sorry I needed medical attention like any other normal person would." Laurinaitis didn't seem to care about Otunga's issues as he asked for him to go out to the parking lot area and see if Evan's bodyguard has arrived. Otunga was once again hesitant, saying that he shouldn't be doing much walking with a bad back. "Hey. Your boss gave you an order. Now go out there and bring me back my bodyguard!" shouted Evan. Otunga could be seen fuming, but obeyed Laurinaitis' orders.
- A graphic was shown for tonight's main event. WWE Champion CM Punk, United States Champion Zack Ryder, Evan Bourne, Rob Van Dam, R-Truth, and Dolph Ziggler battle it out in a Six Pack Challenge. The winner will be given the privilege of being the last superstar to enter the Elimination Chamber match.
- COMMERCIAL BREAK
- BRODUS CLAY DEF. CURT HAWKINS:Another simple victory for the Funkasaurus. The audience seems to be getting behind him as the weeks go on, which bodes very well for him. Brodus hit Hawkins with a Running Splash to get the victory.
- Cutting backstage, R-Truth was shown in his locker room preparing for the upcoming Six Pack Challenge when Daniel Bryan barged in. He demanded to know where the Miz went. "Hey, man! How would I know where Miz is?" asked Truth. Bryan said that it's because he follows Miz around like a leech. Wherever Miz is, Truth can't be too far behind. Bryan continued to interrogate him until AJ walked in, telling him that Miz wants to meet him on SmackDown. "See! And they call me crazy," said Truth. AJ and Bryan left the room, allowing Truth to get his mind back on track for the main event.
- Switching cameras, WWE Champion CM Punk was shown making his way down to the ring. The Six Pack Challenge is next, on RAW.
- COMMERCIAL BREAK
- A promo was shown for Elimination Chamber, live Sunday February 19th, only on pay-per-view.
- EVAN BOURNE DEF. WWE CHAMPION CM PUNK, UNITED STATES CHAMPION ZACK RYDER, ROB VAN DAM, R-TRUTH, AND DOLPH ZIGGLER: A great high-stakes match to close out tonight's edition of RAW. With the final entry into the Elimination Chamber match on the line, all six men pulled out of all of the stops to claim victory. After Ryder suplexed Truth onto Van Dam and Ziggler on the outside, Punk and Bourne were left in the ring. The two battled back and forth for a while until Punk caught him with a running knee, followed by a bulldog. As Punk was getting ready for the GTS, John Laurinaitis made his way out to the stage, a large man following him. The action stopped as everyone stared at this monster, covered in tattoos and sporting Japanese symbols on his head. He stepped into the ring as Punk went after him, but he strength was too much for the champion to handle as he pushed him away, following up with a sitout Chokebomb. Evan backed into a corner, realizing that his bodyguard finally showed up. The bodyguard waited for Punk to get back to his feet, grasping his face with a claw-like hold. After Punk faded, Bourne capitalized as he covered him to get the victory.
- The entire arena was in shock as Bourne quickly ran onto the second rope, letting out a scream as he will be entering the Elimination Chamber match last. His bodyguard stood over Punk, shouting at him in Japanese. Laurinaitis grabbed both the WWE Championship and a microphone. He reminded everyone that last week, he said that he searched the entire globe for a bodyguard. "All the way from Japan, I give you, Tensai!" Laurinaitis then handed the WWE Title to Evan as Tensai lifted him up to his shoulders. "People Power" stood tall over CM Punk as Evan raised the WWE Championship high in the air, a sight that we could very well see in two weeks as Bourne will be entering the Elimination Chamber last.
