In Australia, tipping is not customary... so no.

I always tip when I go out or order delivery. The only time I don't tip is when I order a pizza for pickup and I think that's fair since I did the driving to get my pizza.
I try and tip between 15% and 20%.

I really hope those who don't tip never reproduce. Your kids would be the absolute worst people. I'm not joking. If you teach your kids not to leave a simple tip when they go out, you probably assume all sorts of HORRIBLE mannerisms. Which you would then pass along to your kids, and influence them strongly to be just like you...Horrible people.

Wait, some people think not tipping a waiter/ waitress makes you a despicable human being?
I'm guessing that must be a U.S. thing (that tipping is seen as compulsory), 'cause the idea of a tip over here is to show thanks for great service. Being a s*** waiter/ waitress doesn't earn you a tip, not from me anyway.
EDIT: Read Kliquid's fantastic post, it makes more sense now; most waiters/ waitresses get grossly underpaid, right? So yeah I'd definitely tip a reasonable amount whenever I could.
Over here, however, that's rarely the case. No way are you getting a 5-10 quid tip just for bringing my plate to me.

To ensure good service. The harder you work/better you do, the more money you make. Over there, your servers get paid a flat rate (higher) and tips aren't expected... I bet the service sucks too cause it essentially doesn't really matter how good you are. I wish it was the same everywhere in the world.. cause English people tip like sh*t over here. lol. Sometimes not at all.

In Australia, tipping is not customary... so no. In Most of Mexico tipping is un heard of, to some it is viewed as an insult. In the Major cities though tipping is something you might see, but I think it is only because of American tourists who go and tip. So the service industry grew to like tips. Again though that's mainly only in big citys or tourist spots.

I leave tips for my waiters/waitresses (unless absolutely horrendous service) because of how grossly underpaid they are. If you can't put yourself in their shoes, and are so greedy to the point where you can't shell out even a crappy tip, you are a horrible person. In other countries, where waiters/waitresses may make a decent (or at least minimum) wage, fine, do what you want. If you don't even have the common courtesy to give someone who makes a living off what you leave them, unless the service was awful, that's absolutely pathetic. I can only imagine the other kind of mannerisms people like you indulge in. It's people like that who should not have kids, because their kids will turn out, more than likely, worse than the people who raised them. Ungrateful bastards.

I've said plenty of times in this thread that I tip and I tip well. That being said, I still detest this idea that tipping is expected of me despite the quality of service on most occasions. Most people in here have out right said that they'd tip even if the service was horrible because of how little the servers make. Well guess what? I didn't choose to work at a food joint making less than minimum wage. I empathize with servers, but I don't sympathize or feel sorry for them. My tip always has, and always will be based on the quality of service FIRST, and not the fact that the servers make so little money. If anything, I'm teaching my children to act on your own accord and not just do things because "it's the right thing to do" or because not doing them "makes you a horrible person". If you tip a server, do it because you were pleased with the service. Not because America has put this guilt trip on it's consumers.

Yes I tip. I tip $3. I think that's fair amount for a tip plus I don't have that much money to be throwing around.

Just so you are aware, a server who does a bad job does not expect a good tip. Unless they are intellectually- disabled (or work at Waffle House).
