Wasnt King Booker a gimmick that is only about 4 years old? To me that seems to not really fit the "flashback" era. That was why i passed on him. I was surprised Mattel went with that one. Anyone else feel the same?

King Booker was a great idea. Awesome accessories and it's one of the best figures Mattel has done so far.

Yeah it was only a gimmick. But the figure itself is AMAZING!

I liked it, it doesn't matter that the gimmick is younger than what most would consider legendary, it was done because it was a thing of the past and that's all that matters.

yes i love the figure. They did so good on him. Its up there in Mattels top best imo because they nailed his likeness so much. It was a great way to give us a Booker T right away, plus the accessories are awesome. I love the King attire because if you wanted to have a little king of the ring with your figs, you now have the robe, crown and septer to honor the winner with and make them wear. I didnt think i would like Booker T at first but once he came out and i got it, im happy Mattel did it.

This is a Top 5 WWE Mattel figure in my opinion. I don't mind if it's somewhat recent, as long as it's a good one.
Like if they made a Flashback Santina, that would also be sick. Just has to be a memorable gimmick to me.

Many collectors, myself included, thought that a Harlem Heat Booker was obviously much more deserving of the flashback/legends treatment than King Booker.... especially considering Jakks never got round to making Harlem Heat in CS. But apparently Mattel disagreed.
Hopefully one day Mattel will give us a three-pack of Harlem Heat with Sister Sherri, but I guess it's looking less and less likely since Mattel can't seem to get Legends to sell well enough for their own (retail) line...

King Booker was in the 2008 WWE video game. So that gimmick is barely 5 yrs old. They probably figured this would be the only way to justify doing an Elite Booker T. Cuz u get a bunch of accessories. Of course I'd love a Harlem Heat Booker, but they'd never make Stevie Ray.....and accessory wise I guess they could do glasses and a lil hat.
Also I think someone @ Mattel has a King of the Ring fetish. Macho King, King Booker, King Sheamus

Rather of had a 2001 Invasion booker with short hair and a removable jump suite! Would've been better IMO.

I would of preferred his Harlem heat gear myself. It's kinda corny to make figures of gimmicks that aren't like 15 years older.

Its funny you say that and though you're correct the sales havent moved as quickly as Matty would have liked, the rockers, Andre and Undertaker have now sold out on mattycollector!

it's a great idea. considering Booker still wrestles from time to time it was a way to give us a Booker figure and please some Legend collectors.

It's right on track for a regular release figure. Mattel takes a year or so to pump new figures out anyway.

It may not be worth of one, but it's one hell of a figure!

In this case, it's less about how many years have passed and more about what was one of his most memorable gimmicks/coolest outfits. Mattel has said as much before in a Q and A, I believe. It looks awesome, IMO.

King Lawler deserves a good flashback or elite figure way ahead of King Booker.

I wouldn't call it a flashback becasue if thats the case Mattel can get away with making a WM26 Shawn Michaels and calling it a Flashback. Great figure of Booker T. He went from 3rd on my list to 1st in the E14 must haves.
