I also wanted to mention that its funny how Mattel is having a hard time selling there legends line, however the andre and rockers are sold out on matty collector....which if its true, is great news for those, like me, who are hoping to get the classic line re-instated in retail stores... It's not true. They moved them to "sold out" status when DDP came out, for reasons that are unclear.

I think they just wanted to get a Booker T out my himself with accessories and not have a modern day one.
The fact that they struggle to get guys like Lawler out worries me...

I love the figure but I hated the time period they chose. However i see why they chose it because theyres nothing they could have done with any other era of his career that was really flashy (Harlem Heat maybe nut come on whats the point of having Booker without Stevie Ray?"

I really needed a Booker T for a while but I hated that gimmick and I can't see myself spending that much money for a gimmick I hated so much. With him on TV every week and still wrestling, I can see them making more of him in his regular attire. For now, I am good with my Jakks RA Booker T.

I like this figure simply because this is how booker currently looks so I plan on keeping one for King Booker and one for current booker look as he still randomly wrestles. I think this was a great way to get a figure that you could put a suit on and make announcer booker or leave it or even like I said a current modified version

Yes it was worthy… of a figure version. Flashback? Sure why not, of all the figures they could have done for series 12 they did Papa Shango. Nothing against him just saying, the guy wasn't no Bob Backlund or Lex Luger ya dig.

Flash·back[flash-bak] noun 1. a device in the narrative of a motion picture, novel, etc., by which an event or scene taking place before the present time in the narrative is inserted into the chronological structure of the work.
It doesn't mean "only from 15-20 years ago"
It was just a way for Mattel to release a Booker T. Elite What would he have come with for accessories? A shirt? no. A belt? meh, not necessary. A plain Booker T would NEVER have sold...current or not.
This way we get an awesome figure, that can be used as modern or "flashback" everyone wins
80% of the WWE fans have no idea who Harlem Heat is. Not to mention Booker doesn't even look CLOSE to the same way now, as he did then. It would have fallen under the same category as Snuka in long tights & Slaughter in NWA gear. Pleasing about 400 people. A Harlem Heat Booker T. is worthless by himself.

Many collectors, myself included, thought that a Harlem Heat Booker was obviously much more deserving of the flashback/legends treatment than King Booker.... especially considering Jakks never got round to making Harlem Heat in CS. But apparently Mattel disagreed. Hopefully one day Mattel will give us a three-pack of Harlem Heat with Sister Sherri, but I guess it's looking less and less likely since Mattel can't seem to get Legends to sell well enough for their own (retail) line... Its funny you say that and though you're correct the sales havent moved as quickly as Matty would have liked, the rockers, Andre and Undertaker have now sold out on mattycollector! Those figures did not sell out. Matty is notorious for pulling to stock to make room for new releases. They'll be back on sale one day, just like Undertaker already came back for awhile.

He was absolutely worthy of a Flashback... it's one of the best figures Mattel have made, imo - even if you didn't like the gimmick (...who didn't like the gimmick though?, lol) if you take his robe and crown off, then you still have an awesome Booker T figure.
Maybe instead of having 2 Flashbacks, they could have a Flashback figure and a Legends figure (in the same Elite packaging etc. - just with a Legends logo on it somewhere). Flashback figures would be earlier versions of the more modern guys (like the Kane, Edge, and Booker figures) - and Legends figures would be '80's/early 90's guys like Papa Shango, Bossman, Yokozuna etc.

Having received my Booker T yesterday I can safely say that yes - he is absolutely worth a flashback. Not my most favourite gimmick of his, but the attire/colour scheme is very much a Booker T during his WWE run, and the likeness is off-the-charts fantastic. Easily one of my top 5 best Mattel figures.

Absolutely. I bought the figure today at TRU and I can say it is one of Mattel's finest figures so far.
As for the "King Booker" gimmick itself,....I know a lot of people didn't like it, but it gave Mattel the opportunity to give us some pretty bad ass accessories. The crown, cape and scepter are pretty cool.
Don't like King Booker? Take the accessories off and throw them in a bin or drawer or put them up on eBay and you never have to see them again and your figure is just plain BOOKER T. But for the price, I'd rather have the accessories than NOT have them. Perhaps I'll use them on a different figure in the future who has a Royal gimmick.
OR now I can have a King of the Ring tournament in my fed because I have the crown, cape and scepter ready to go!
Bottom line, this figure is a MUST HAVE for any WWE or Booker T fan. I love it.

When I think of Booker, I think of Harlem heat first and then King Booker, but i would hate to have just Booker in a Harlem Heat outfit without stevie Ray, it would drive me nuts. So yeah I think it was worthy. Plus, if they were going to make booker, I would prefer king Booker over a current Booker.
