TNA iMPACT Wrestling 2012: Hulkamania Done?

I'm like Dan when it comes to the Verdana font - I hate it, haha. But moving on...

Now I don't watch iMPACT, so bare with me on this. I like Bobby Roode however, he's a great character, and a nice opening promo, claiming he will retire as the World Champion. Mr. Anderson coming out makes sense, but I love the next part. Sting taking over as General Manager is really interesting, I like it. Jeff Hardy versus Mr. Anderson should be a decent Main Event. Rob Van Dam unhappy that he isn't in the Main Event? I see him getting involved somehow. No idea who Anthony Neese is, so glad that Kid Kash was victorious. Kid Kash receiving a push for the X-Division Championship sounds great. Nice promo from AJ Styles, I wonder who he'll have as a tag team partner for Slammiversary. Rob Van Dam getting involved again, butting in on Hardy's interview? I definitely see an interference coming. I really like this Bully Ray character, it actually gives him a character at least. A good win for him over Doug Williams, but don't know who this Joseph Park is. Pleased to see the Motor City Machine Guns on the winning end, although Samoa Joe and Magnus seems like a destructive team to say the least. Haha, interesting segment with Eric Young, ODB and Jeremy Borash. Devon defends the title every week? I like that, and a good victory over this other guy I don't know. Austin Aries accepting Kash's challenge is good, that would be a great match for sure. As expected, Rob Van Dam sticks his nose in the Main Event. A potential Fatal 4-Way for the World Championship at Slammiversary? Overall, a decent show. I'll do my research on iMPACT so I can enjoy this diary more.

I'll try to start off from the beginning. I think the backstory could have used a little work, TNA's biggest acquisition to date wouldn't be let go so quietly and suddenly i dont believe, but I'm nit picking. I don't see that it's gonna make a huge difference so the backstory doesn't matter too much.

- Setting up for Anderson vs Roode. I like it.
- Nice to see Sting and Van Dam. Seems like everyone writes them out at some point or another.
- Kash over Neese, I've misse alot of Impact's lately so I havent seen Neese in action, but I do like Kash, so this is good.
- Don't care about KO's (Not a jab at you, just sayin)
- Bully Ray over Williams. Right on the money.
- MCMG over Joe and Magnus, once again, money.
- Nice job at creating a unique skit for EY. I don't think I could write for him.
- Devon over Ion. I like Devon as a champ so I'm happy with this.
- OOOOOHHHH I really like Abyss/Bully angle. Hoping to see the Monster come back.
- Anderson (or RVD rather) over Hardy. Nice way of setting this up.

Looks good man. You've definitely got the TNA style down. Consider me a new reader.

The music of TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Bobby Roode plays to kick off the show, which leads to Roode cutting a promo about the unfair treatment that he has received during his time as the World Heavyweight Champion. He states that iMPACT Wrestling's contract states that they must provide a safe work environment for all their talent, which they have failed to do so. He proclaims that if he is not removed from the main event of Slammiversary, he will seek legal action against iMPACT Wrestling, Dixie Carter, and Sting.

This brings out Mr. Anderson who states that he is tired of hearing Bobby Roode whine about unfair treatment. Anderson brings up the fact that for a few months, he was sitting at home twiddling his thumbs because someone kept saying "We don't have a need for you, brotha!", but you don't see him whining about it every week. Anderson says that Roode whines every single week like a little b----, which is ironic.. as Anderson promises to make Roode his b---- at Slammiversary.

Roode - obviously angry at Anderson - takes a cheap shot, but
Anderson ducks it and lays Roode out with the "Mic Check" instead. Anderson picks up the World Heavyweight Championship and announces that after Slammiversary, the assholes will unite to celebrate the NEW World Heavyweight Champion.. Mr. Anderson!

Chris Sabin defeated Magnus : In another preview of the tag match at Slammiversary, Chris Sabin took on Magnus. Magnus had the size advantage - much like Samoa Joe last week against Alex Shelley - but Sabin used his speed to take Magnus down to wear him out. Sabin would win following hitting the Cradle Shock for the pin fall.

Backstage, Bobby Roode storms into Sting's office and demands action be taken against Mr. Anderson for his attack earlier. Sting says that there is anything he can too, but Roode disagrees. Roode reminds Sting of the comments early about holding TNA responsible for not providing him a safe work environment, saying this wouldn't look good in a court room. Sting gives into Roode's demand and puts Mr. Anderson in the main event against, Crimson.

Gail Kim & Kid Kash defeated Brooke Tessmacher & Austin Aries : Austin Aries and Kid Kash would be in the ring for most of the match, as Gail Kim would refuse to get into the ring anytime Brooke tagged in. Aries would almost put Kash away with the brianbuster, but Kash used a few knees to the skull to stop the brianbuster. Gail Kim would finally come into the match after Brooke tagged in again, but it would be short lived.. as Kim quickly rolled Brooke up with a handful of tights for the victory. Kash and Kim celebrated their victory, as Brooke and Aries looked on in disgust at their challengers on Sunday.

Kurt Angle and AJ Styles made their way to the ring, each cutting a promo about this Sunday's match against Kazarian and Christopher Daniels. Kurt Angle explained why he agreed to join up with AJ Styles to face them, stating he and Styles have always had a mutual respect for each other. He says they could be beating the crap out of each other for 365 days, but that respect would still be there. Angle says he was tired of seeing Daniels and Kazarian disrespecting Styles, so he's going to fight side-by-side with AJ. Styles spent his promo time talking about how Daniels and Kazarian tried to ruin his life, not just in the wrestling business but his personal life with those doctored photos of he and Dixie Carter. He promised payback at Slammiversary.

A video package airs of John Hennigan and Melina at a party in Hollywood from earlier this week, they're shown hanging out with some big shot celebrities. A couple turns around and bumps into Hennigan and Melina, spilling their fruity Hollywood drinks. The couple? Eric Young and ODB. The "Hollywood Couple" aren't happy with TNA's odd couple spilling their drinks. They demand security escort Young and ODB out, but this isn't allowed.. as Young and ODB are the "VIP Guests", who in return have Melina and Hennigan kicked out.

Gunner defeated Eric Young : Normally, Eric Young would get his rear-end handed too him, but a more serious side of Young has appeared.. rarely. Tonight was one of those rare times where Young was on his A-game taking the fight to Gunner, until Melina and John Hennigan came to ringside, pushing and shoving ODB. This distracted Young long enough for Gunner to take control and win with a powerbomb. Following the match, Hennigan attacked Young while Melina used ODB's own Knockout Tag Title belt to knock her out. Hennigan would hit a corkscrew neckbreaker on Young.

Backstage, Jeff Jarrett is shown arriving at the iMPACT Zone. He is questioned about his arrival, which he proclaims he has business to discuss with Sting.

Bully Ray defeated Devon : The battle of two former partners is always a fun match to see, especially when Bully Ray is the one getting his rear-end handed to him for most of the contest. Ray would pick up the victory with the Bubba Bomb in the end. Following the match, "The Monster" Abyss appeared behind Bully Ray when he was celebrating on the stage. Ray turned around and got snatched by Abyss for a choke slam, but Ray fought it off and bailed down the ramp, through the crowd to the backstage area.

A video package airs announcing that the "Road to Glory Tournament" will debut on next week's iMPACT.

Mark Haskins and Douglas Williams defeated Two Local Wrestlers : Williams and Haskins demolished the two local wrestlers, very easily defeating them. Following the match, Haskins and Williams cut a promo about how there was no team in the world that was on the same page as much as they were. They proclaimed that they would be the next TNA World Tag Team Champions.

Backstage, Sting and Jeff Jarrett are shown heading toward the ring. Do they have an announcement to make?

When we return from commercial, Sting and Jeff Jarrett are already standing in the ring. Sting says that since Bobby Roode wants to talk about how he is treated unfairly, Sting has decided that there needs to be a special enforcer at Slammiversary to make sure the main event is fair. The fans begin to chant Sting's name, but Sting says he isn't making himself the special enforcer. He says the job would go to someone who knows about bending every rule in the past, but knows that his future in this company has to be a clean record.. Jeff Jarrett!

Jarrett took the microphone and said he is looking forward to making his return to pay-per-view with the company he founded, even if he is doing nothing but making sure everything goes smoothly. Of course, this brought Bobby Roode back out and said that Jarrett has a conflict of interest, reminding the world about cracking Jarrett in the head with a bottle. Roode tries to plea his case of why Jarrett shouldn't be the enforcer, but Sting refuses to listen and says that the decision is final.. which pisses Roode off. Roode walks down to the side of the ring - where Jarrett is propped on the ropes facing him - and spits in the face of Jarrett. Roode backtracks up the ramp as Jarrett comes after him, but TNA staff keep Jarrett back.

A video package airs with "Cowboy" James Storm talks away walking away after Lockdown, but knew that he had to make a decision regarding his future in wrestling. Storm says he has made his decision, but he isn't going to let the know world right now. He was going to be on iMPACT next week and the world would know his decision.

Crimson defeated Mr. Anderson : The undefeated Crimson took on Mr. Anderson in the main event, which looked like Crimson's streak would end tonight, but Anderson wouldn't get the job done tonight. The referee would get knocked down when Crimson ducked Anderson's clothesline and he crashed into the official, but Anderson would quickly take back control with a quick "Mic Check".

Before the official could recover or another come down, Rob Van Dam hit the ring with a steel chair and attacked Anderson, laying him out with the chair shot to the back of the head. Van Dam placed Crimson on Anderson, which resulted in the official crawling over to count a very sluggish three count, giving Crimson the win.

Following the match, Van Dam would attack Anderson trying to get an advantage for Sunday, but Anderson was saved by Jeff Hardy. Hardy would hit the "Twist of Hate" on Van Dam, before helping Mr. Anderson to his foot. Anderson thought it was Hardy who attacked him and laid Hardy out with the Mic Check. Anderson still groggy from the chair shot motioned that the World Championship was his after Sunday.
