I wonder why they didn't just recast Duke if Tatum didn't want to come back?

I wonder why they didn't just recast Duke if Tatum didn't want to come back? thats bullcrapchanning tatum signed on for 2 or 3 flicks based on reports i read back when rise of cobra came out, they opted out and decided to either kill him or reduce his role based on the performance of that movie but now with channing raking in 100's of millions with the vow, 21 jump street and soon to be huge hit with the ladies, magic mike, they are kicking themselves in the ass for making a mediocre movie and now realizing it would have probebly done even better with willis, rock and tatum if i were tatum i would tell em to  off seriously he wasn't good enough until he became an overnight moneymaker in the past 4 months and i would be completely insulted if i was rock or bruce for this, i feel like this movie may go down in history as a hollywood plague between the fan backfire and the bad decisions that cost millions upon millions in marketing it may never even be released, GI joe is not batman or the avengers. what do they plan to benefit by killing all momentum and marketing for a 9 month delay, its a 50 million dollar opening tops and they should be happy with that after the stink of the first one they put out and they had a decent week to do that, by next march their looking at a 15 million opening quote me on that |

He was terrible in Rise of Cobra. Easily the worst actor in the movie. I didn't hear anyone say anything good about his work in that movie - now he's a star and they need more of him? Yuk. |

Never once said i liked him or he was good but like him or not he is star power and now more then ever bottom line
And there is no way on gods green earth this movie will do 15 million opening night 9 months after its long forgotten, kids have moved on, and uninformed adults think it had come out the previous summer and get confused
25 mill opening weekend tops

LOL.... they're releasing it before it has huge summer competition AND with the benefit of twice as many screens with the 3D... it's going to make $65-70M opening weekend without any trouble. Plus, casting The Rock in franchise movies these days is like being given a license to print money.
This is going to do just fine, even with the delay. I just wish it was still coming out in 5 weeks because I really want to see it.

This really, really bummed me out. I was looking forward to seeing this in a few weeks. Out of all the blockbusters this summer, it looked like the most fun. Plus, Cobra looks GREAT, and that image of the Cobra banners being dropped over the White House gave me goosebumps when I first saw it. I feel like I woke up on Christmas morning and the world just decided Christmas was going to be exchanged with the 4th of July. Oh well... fireworks in the snow will look cool.

theres also word that there was a collective faint at Paramount when the results from test audiences came in......seems to be more to it than just a 3D conversion.
