In a surprising move, Paramount Pictures has delayed the release of their upcoming G.I. Joe: Retaliation until March 29, 2013, a full nine months after its originally planned release date of June 29th.
To turn it 3D.

Well the website still says 29th june. But if this is true it's not cause of 3D, it's cause of paramount shitting themselves of the flim not making the money with all the big flims comming out over the same time. Gutted tho if true was looking forward to it  |

This is insane. I hate 3D and avoid it like the plague. I know some people like it, some love it, but really, WTF?
Can anybody think of any other movies that have done something like this?

Cabin in the Woods delayed to convert to 3D. Then some other company bought them out, and release the film. With all that they didn't even release it in 3D, so that was a waste of 1-2 years without changed to the film. |

I didn't really want to see the movie so it won't affect me but for the fans who wanted to see it sooner rather than later that must suck.

I like 3D...I dont need 3D. Release the regular version now and 3D later for those that HAVE to have it in 3D.  |

They just killed this movie. completely. there is no new GI Joe product on shelves because the movie toys were the next big line. If they release it now with no tie in they will have mediocre sales. If they dont release them hasbro will be stuck with no new product for at least another quarter. but then there will be no new toys for the movie.
all the hype and promotion has been a total waste. the previews were really good. some of the stills were actually getting fans excited to the thought of a new joe movie. and pure stupidity and greed has completely destroyed all of that.
