F4Wonline.com is reporting WWE is interested in inducting Bruno Sammartino in the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2013.
Sammartino has been contacted by WWE but there is no official word on if he's given them a response.
Sammartino has had a controversial past with WWE and Vince McMahon Jr. He's spoken out for years against where the industry has gone and what McMahon has allegedly endorsed. Sammartino has turned down offers to work on several projects with WWE.

Brink has turned them down time and again, I would be surprised if he accepted it.

Bruno needs to get the corn cob out of his ass and realize its not 1970, there are no more territories and numerous wrestlers have now out sold him in the box office sales. Realize you're one of the original greats, take your ring and check. Thank your fans one final time and be seen as a Legend and not a grumpy old man that thinks the world ended when Kayfabe did.

He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. Maybe as one of the greatest to ever wrestle too.
I would love for them to also throw Booker T in to the hall of fame. I think he deserves to be
in it.

My understanding is that Bruno's main issue with WWE is the focus on bodybuilder types which leads young talent to using steroids to get over. Mostly because his son was getting into wrestling and possibly was using them to get a better physique. Bruno does deserve a spot in the HOF, but I really don't see him accepting the invite. |

He signed with Jakks to have a figure made , he should accept the HOF. I don't understand guys that speak against the WWE but have no issue collecting a check from product with their likeness sold under the WWE name.

He also supposedly signed with Mattel to make a figure too  I'd love to see him in, if only to hopefully open the door for more projects highlighting his career. |

I heard Bruno hated the product as soon as he first saw Austin drinking beer on TV. The first time Austin drank beer on TV was over 15 years ago, so Sammartino has hated the product for a while. Regardless, there's less of that on TV now so maybe he'll be willing to go in finally.

He definitely deserves it. In fact, he's about as deserving as you can get. He needs to come to terms with the fact that the wrestling business has changed, just like anything will.

Wasn't he saying in a shoot that he'd consider it if Vince cleaned up the business (In reference to the what the women were doing attitude era > few years ago)

Of course Bruno should go in but he is so stubborn and bitter. He's with the same lot of idiots who still claim that WWE is pornography. That crap has been gone for years. BUT you do have to admire Bruno for sticking to his guns for so long.

I still think the WWE should just induct him whether Bruno wants to or not. In know the WWE would never do that due to not advertising someone they don't know if he'll show up or not, but I think that's what WWE should do. If Bruno doesn't show up, they can just accept on his behalf, send him his Hall of Fame ring and plague.

One of the stories making the rounds today, which I was told was broken by The Wrestling Observer is that WWE had invited Bruno Sammartino to be inducted into the 2013 Hall of Fame.
PWInsider.com was sent the following statement from Sal Corrente on behalf of Sammartino:
We understand that word has broken on the Internet regarding "The Living Legend" Bruno Sammartino being inducted in to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013. Since word has broken publicly, I can confirm that we have been contacted. I have been asked by Bruno Sammartino to announce that he will NOT be inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013.
