Good size, good look. Was the power of the Hart Foundation. But in terms of solo career, he's not had one good match to my knowledge from that I've seen of him. He can work, I'm not saying he can't, but when he's not there to support someone (like Bret, Owen, Davey Boy Smith), he's not very "one of a kind" or special in my opinion.
And Anvil Fan, of COURSE you think he's awesome, good God almighty. You can't say people dislike Bret because he was the breakout star of the team. But at least Bret had a memorable solo career. I like to think that Neidhart could have achieved better things in the WWF had he not left for WCW in the early 90s.

He is obviously a tag specialist (and there is nothing wrong with that), BUT I do think he is underrated in the scheme of the Hart Foundation. His promos keep the Hart Foundation afloat early on until Bret really found himself in the WWF.

I liked him. Even Bret has said that Jim Neidhart has never gotten the full credit he deserves for being one half of thr original Hart Foundation.

Joker, you locked one topic where me and Anvil Fan had a heated discussion on this very subject (Neidhart) not too long back, I don't think its fair that you lock this one as well.
Posters on the board are only having their opinion on a wrestler whether it be it good or bad, then you have Anvil Fan chastising everyone that doesn't say that Jim Neidhart is the greatest talker, worker, tag wrestler, etc ever.
There is only one poster on this topic that is causing a problem from what I can see.

it's one thing for you to have an opinion even if it's viewed as inane or bizarre, anvil. but to preach it as fact or make it out like it's EVER been documented that he's the best ever, or even in the top 50, is simply not factual. to act as if it is, is what severely frustrates members of this board, including myself.
that's not an attempt at an insult, it's just straight up how it is. you may think he is the best wrestler ever pound for pound, but every single other member of this board (except maybe 2?) would thoroughly disagree. you can't label this as stupidity, there's obviously some basis for it if the majority think so. he simply was not 'all that'.

I gave him a 3/5. Great as part of the Hart Foundation (the origional and 1997 versions), but was nothing really w/out Bret. Yes, Jim helped keep the team afloat while Bret was trying to make things click for himself in his early years, but the guys just never stood out as anything special by himself IMO. Good in the ring for a big man and could work a promo, but was just missing that "IT" factor in singles competition. I love tag team specialists and Jim was great in tag team roles. I gave him a 3/5 because he had literally no singles career though.

Neidhart. He's also unmatched on The Mic. Both Miz and Barrett, both stars that you hate, are soooooo much better on the mic than Anvil it's ridiculous. I never liked Anvil, never hated him, I gave him a 3, which probably is a little generous. |

When Anvil was straight, he was decent. He had good mic skills, he had charisma, he had the look. Would he have been WWE Champion?? No. Would be be a challenger?? Yes.
But near the end, especially his WCW run in 98, he was so messed up on cocaine and other drugs that he was just plain hard to watch.
If anyone has ever seen that match on Nitro putting Chris Jericho vs. Jim Neidhart for the TV Title, then you would know what I mean.

Moving to WCW was a big mistake for Jim, he should have stayed with Owen in the WWE, he would have found more success there. Probably another tag title run at least. I always thought that when Bret disappeared to wcw they were planning to have Furnas and Lefon join Owen, Jim and Bulldog in the Hart Foundation. It's a big shame that he got fired around the end of 94 as he unquestionably would have held the titles with Owen at Wrestlemania 11. It's an ever bigger shame he got fired when Owen shaved Freddie Blassie's eyebrows off (they thought Neidhart did it), they could have been great in 92 as The New Foundation. |

IMO Barett is shite on the mic.thats all Ill say about him in the classic board.
man there was never gonna be any version of the Hart Foundation when Bret left after the screwjob.....look what happened to Owen......buried.
