Is it possible that mattel could make a limited run of 500 magnum t.a figs so all his fans could have a chance at owning at least one? then he doesnt take up a flashback spot and linger on shelves, and all the magnum ta fans can get a magnum figure in their collections, win-win THIS

Nah... There are far more figures I'd rather see Mattel release before they do Magnum TA. *whispers* Jim Neidhart.

I think they mentioned more stuff going on Matty in the future. Magnum would be a great candidate for Mattycollector seeing how he was the 6th vote. Too bad they couldnt just put him in Elizabeths place but apparently DDP and Bundy did so bad that they "literally werent allowed to continue the program" (Any Wrestling fan who knew the current situation with wrestlingfigs could have called that one btw mattel) But whats stopping them from putting him on the site later as a one time offering of a single Legends fig? or maybe on mattelshop?

I would love to see a Magnum Terry Allen figure join my collection. It's a shame that the younger collectors on this board have been only exposed to the excess of the Attitude area and don't appreciate how truly amazing of a performer that T.A. was for his time. His porsche hitting that telephone pole robbed us of some truly exciting dream matches. 25+ years later an old guy like me can only wonder what wouldv'e been... sigh. hey I'm 28 and i've never seen him wrestle. I think u hafta be 35+ to remember him. growing up in NYC...we didn't get NWA/WCW on tv I'm 26, and I had known about him from a younger age but never seen him wrestle. I got my wrestling history from having my mom rent me wrestling VHS videos when I was a kid. They were all WWF vids, so I never got to see the NWA stuff due to it not being out on video. If the figure was only available online, I wouldn't get him. However, I would get just about anyone at retail. I remember buying the Classic Ivan Putski and Johnny Rodz figs a few years back, and I never heard of them.

No. Mattel gave us a number last year on what the lowest number run they would do, and I think it was still in the thousands. They would lose all economies of scale by do such a low number and the figure would probably have to cost 3x as much to make their money back.

There's good Magnum stuff on youtube, and with WWE now owning the Mid-South tape library we should be getting some early Magnum footage, along with what's available on WWE DVD sets now. His Mid-South stuff vs guys like DiBiase, Butch Reed, and Arn Anderson was good stuff. He was never a technical marvel, but he was a quick learner and a great larger athlete. Something like a late 80s Sting constantly being matched up against the Horsemen and Muta. Check out Magnum's JCP stuff against the Horsemen and Nikita Koloff, certainly. He's probably the only guy besides Flair to get good singles matches out of Koloff. The "I Quit" cage match vs Tully Blanchard is an all-time classic between two guys who made you believe they hated each other. Brutal, brutal match.

That's what I don't get. We all new and called it that the Legends line would fail on Matty Collector so why didn't Mattel? I just don't get it... Plus DDP's head was terrible, lack of accessories and people not wanting to pay shipping on just one figure...

I have to admit that I get tickled when people threw a fit because Arn & Tully got voted in and we didnt get more Monday Night Wars guys, yet it was basically a MNW (DDP) guy that ended up putting one of the nails in the coffin.

I didnt mean to sound so bleak before but i've got an idea that may work is it possible that mattel could make a limited run of 500 magnum t.a figs so all his fans could have a chance at owning at least one? then he doesnt take up a flashback spot and linger on shelves, and all the magnum ta fans can get a magnum figure in their collections, win-win This got me thinking. Why not make him a Mail-Away Figure. Just like with Triple H, Buy any 3 WWE Figures, send in the UPC's & receipt(s) and they send you Magnum TA. They could maybe even give him legends packaging(Wouldn't get your hopes up though)

I would. He was far before my time, but I learned about him through watching old matches and seeing him on that AWA DVD WWE made years ago (very interesting stuff, btw). Pack him every other case in FB form alongside a more heavily packed mainstream FB and he should do fine.

Back then I just knew about him from the magazines. I still would have ordered one just because I usually like all of Mattel's figures.

I couldn't agree more. I also love when the same clowns claim if they put HHH, HBK, and UT then that would have saved Legends. Those guys couldn't save EG or DM...why would they suddenly save Legends? They wouldn't have. The Legends line wasn't supported by us. It's that simple. If you didn't buy every Legends figure, you helped kill the line. For every Funk, Pillman and Iron Sheik you didn't buy...you lost a chance at getting who you really wanted. I completely understand that some people didn't have the resources to do this, but Mattel gave Legends collectors a chance. We simply didn't come through. Please don't come back again with...but those line-ups sucked! Chances are I'll think the ones you come up with suck. Oh...and I'd pay $100 for Magnum if I had to. It's the only figure I voted for that didn't win in that poll last year. And I voted a lot!

Im the first one to admit, and most can see by my posts, that any Legend/Flash back that didnt fall into the 85-93 time line, I had absolutely no interest in......but guess what? ? I supported the line and because people "didnt want" a Paul Orndorff or "didnt know" Kevin Von Erich and thus didnt buy them.....We're getting Flashbacks that "those people" wanted....and they're having to pay 3-4-5 times as much as they would have if this series was in store. Congrats.
