But Meltzer also states that they were unaware of this, until the re-entered the States.
Sounds like an excuse for the real reason. Their champion wasn't living up to the hype.

Visa issues might be a big problem for him and Seleziya Sparx as well. Apparently she got denied access on Friday for the AIW show and since she had no visa she could be denied access to the US for a couple of years at the least. Why is ROH not taking care of this for the talent?

She got turned away at the border on Friday trying to get to the AIW show (presumably for having no visa) and it's a similar case to what SSB went through where they worked here with no visa and she could be denied entry for years which pretty much murders her career. ROH could have done what they did for Steen and Elgin and helped get her a visa since she started appearing on every show with Lethal back at BITW but they didn't. Elgin's whole case is kind of on him but her's really isn't and is a case where the company could/should have helped with the visa. |

I thought it seemed almost like they were writing Seleziya off.
What happened to her on Saturday night makes a lot more sense now.

There was a show on UK television yesterday which showed Ring of Honour. It's called "Almost Royal", where two people pretend to be royalty and travel across America annoying people. They were guests at a ROH show in Detroit and got involved in an arm wrestling competition with Truth Martini. Must have been odd for those in attendance.

Elgin Update/Ring Of Honor News - Mike Johnson - PWInsider.com - September 8. In an update on Michael Elgin, rumors that recent comments by him about his interest in trying out for a Major League Baseball team led to him losing the belt to Jay Briscoe are incorrect. We are told that had no bearing on ROH booking him to lose the ROH title over the weekend and wasn't anything ROH was concerned with. We are also told the visa issues had no bearing on the title loss as the decision was made prior to the visa issue becoming known. That would leave how the belt was portrayed on the independents as being the primary factor. The original plan for the PPV was Elgin retaining going into the 9/27 TV taping. ROH officials are assisting Elgin in getting back into the United States. The word making the rounds yesterday was that the issue was something that Elgin was responsible for handling. He was a bit loopy. |

This is so strange........
I have a feeling we will be seeing very little Elgin now. In fact if he retired it wouldn't surprise me. It's a shame. Elgin WAS great at one point.
