One of these days, I'll figure out why I keep watching FTWD. I guess the mini Deadwood reunion is sorta worth it right now. And Alicia. At least both Chris & Travis are dead now. FTWD hasn't grabbed me like TWD. It's too similar in that we are following a small group of survivors who get separated and back together while fighting other survivor groups. I said from the start that they would have to do something different from TWD for it to stand on its own and they haven't. Strand from season one is about the only character I liked and he has been pussified more and more to the point I actually hoped he did get dropped off the dam in the last episode. I see the show losing steam and either doing a series finale that kills off everybody in dramatic fashion OR they kill all but a few characters (hopefully they develop a few interesting ones) who jump over to The Walking Dead after having traveled cross country for two years. There is a precedent for the latter that comic readers will recognize from the post "All Out War" storyline. It really just is The Walking Dead: West Coast Edition. I get that there's only so much you can do with a zombie apocalypse, but geez, they could at least try to differentiate it from the main show. Well, I guess they did in one way, since the regular show actually has some likeable, memorable characters. TBH, it still bugs me how quickly they blew through the outbreak in S1. One of the selling points of the show was being able to see how society collapses once it starts to spread, and it felt like you saw 2 or 3 episodes of that, and they were done with it.

It would have been much more interesting to see a slower collapse of society as at first there are isolated outbreaks, then larger ones that force survivors into tighter groups under military protection who try to fight back, and then eventually the complete breakdown as the zombie hordes grow to be too large for an organized defense. They could have filled several seasons covering the first month or two instead of jumping straight to zombies everywhere and small clusters of survivors.

Did anyone else see the nod that Supernatural did to The Walking Dead?
For those not familiar with Supernatural, Jefferey Dean Morgan (Negan) played John Winchester (father to Sam & Dean Winchester).

Just finishes watching episode 4 of FTWD. Was putting it off because it was all subtitles, but it was great. I have really watched seasons 1 or 2, but I think season 3 is pretty good so far... Absolutely loved this episode! I won't spoil anything, but so much character development for Daniel.

FTWD is getting good. Another fantastic episode. 2 weeks until the mid season break.

... How did FTWD manage to become better than the TWD?

Well boys the Season 8 preview comes out tomorrow. What crazy stunt will they do this year to top the walker car clothesline from last season?

I'm wondering how they'll be able to create the Whisperers effectively.
Either way, I'm stoked.

I'm assuming the last few clips with the cane/Rick/flowers is something from the comics?

Honestly, even though I doubted it, S3 of FTWD has been pretty damn great. It's been paced far better than pretty much any season of TWD, aside from S1. And I don't think it's a coincidence that the moment Chris & Travis die, the show suddenly has an uptick in quality...

I didn't like the cliche doomsday preppers or the cliche Native Americans fighting to get their land back. I don't like most of the characters and would cheer if they got eaten, except possibly Strand. I'm glad others are enjoying it but for me I found myself watching more out of habit or to fill the void left by the original than because it was must watch TV.

I will say that I'm partially convinced you're not supposed to like The Clarks - or at least Madison. I half-expect them to turn heel by the end of the show.

I think they're trying to make you think Rick wakes up from the coma, but instead it's the season jumping ahead and few years just like from the comics. I don't think so. Trailers only shows clips from the first 5-6 episodes. The time jump doesn't happen until after all out war, no way they go through all of that story in that many episodes. That's probably a dream sequence.

Fan theory is that Fear is the prelude to the Whisperers... I highly doubt it, but the idea is intriguing. Just glad someone else like Fear... I know the first 2 seasons weren't good at all, but season 3 is great! I'm convinced most write it off because it's the cool thing to do.

Then finish by going back to the coma scene with him walking out to see his people.

I'm just now finishing FTWD season 3, what was everyone else's thoughts on the season finale? I thought it shockingly enjoyable, but the season isn't actually over yet - that was the midseason finale. I think it returns in 2 weeks.
