If you were in Punk's shoes, you would have done the same thing. No I wouldn't. How would you know? Have you ever been working and without reason assaulted? I'm assuming not.

Good. I couldn't see punk getting blamed for that. Fans need to learn how to respect stars.

So because he was actually hit, it's acceptable for Punk to smack an innocent man in the face?

Punk and Sunglasses Guy were both victims. Period. The only people at fault here are WWE security, and the douchebags shoving/punching/smacking Punk.

Good. Good for the WWE standing with their superstar and not backing down or giving in The kid who got hit is complaining of KNEE PAIN? ? This is a major problem with the way this country works. People are now ABUSING the law system so they can get cash. It's ing pathetic and it shows the true disgusting nature of most humans, especially in America "Oh you hit me! Ow my knee! Give me a million dollars for my emotional distraught and scarring" off. How about "I shouldn't have been standing so close to a wrestler so I could get my stupid face on TV for 3 seconds, thus being in the position to be shoved into him and hitting him on the top of the head with my hand"

How dare he be in the crowd that Punk entered, and then get in the way of the poor man's fist.

Someone mentioned on here Punk was under no real threat. Well you're an idiot if you think that. Those arena steps aren't very forgiving and not fun to fall down either. The way Punk was being shoved he could have easily slipped and cracked his head open or much worse.

The kid who got his is complaining of KNEE PAIN? ? Maybe he fell over on it, after being hit in the face for no reason. How about "I shouldn't have been standing so close to a wrestler so I could get my stupid face on TV for 3 seconds Maybe he was actually where the seat he paid to sit in was. thus being in the position to be shoved into him and hitting him on the top of the head with my hand" So your basically saying it is the innocent fans fault for being where Punk was standing. Basically, you people are condoning assult on an innocent man, just because it was done by one of your favourite wrestlers. I actually hate wrestling fans sometimes.

No you don't feel bad for the guy because you're more interested in a wrestler you like staying on TV as 'Champion' than you do about an innocent man being assaulted.

The issue here in the long run will be how much money will the fan get in a settlement and if this incident will be packaged in news stories along with the Del Rio douche bag incident. Punk had a right to defend himself so long as he was attacking the people attacking him. Punching randomly could have caused a bigger issue. Both Punk and the WWE got lucky here and would be best served to pay the man, get a non disclosure agreement about the incident and let the police file misdemeanor battery charges against the idiot on twitter and move away from it all.

It clearly wasn't the fan's fault, but he could have been more aware of his surroundings. It's just a shame that he got smacked and Punk got this negative exposure. The real people to blame are the security and the little p##ssy who actually hit Punk.

Knee pain isn't a total stretch, it's possible that he might of bashed his knee on a seat or something when he was knocked back after getting hit in the face.

The whole segment took place in an aisle. The kid who was slapped, not hit, was in the aisle trying to get on TV.
Punk shouldn't have hit him, but none of those fans were giving any space for him to work and were, to a person, looking for a moment on TV.
The guy who hit Punk, twice, can be brought up on charges since there is evidence of an assault (both video and his own admission).
The kid who didn't hit punk fell backwards onto others hamming it up for the crowd, his knee issues are a result of that falling backward (or are completely made up). He's clearly looking for more fame and money, why else would he do an interview before finding a cop to file a complaint.
In the end, we may not see people go through the crowd again, and WWE security will clearly have people at the ready when they do. No more spontaneous feeling exits.
One last thought, as for being in danger, read Roddy Piper's book. He talks about being stabbed by an over zealous fan. I suspect Punk being pushed down the stairs wouldn't be too far from reality (based on the admitted actions of the real aggressor).

Hahaha. I just knew I'd come here to see some people defending Punk even when we have the facts. good to see the guy with a million cm punk toys remaining unbiased... So from what we can tell, some little kid was shoving Punk (Punk being a professional who is used to dealing with aggressive crowd). He aimlessly attacks the nearest person based on a hunch. Here's the thing, he didn't even stop to look around properly. What if he'd ended up nailing a child or an old person?! I'm all for defending yourself, and if someone hits you then by all means give them one back. But he clearly didn't know who hit him and acted like a ing idiot, nailing an innocent member of the crowd. At the end of the day, biggest blame should go to lack of security around him, whoever's fault that was. oh and I don't know if it's been posted, but supposedly this is the guy. luckily he isn't being a little bitch about it.
