I'm at the point where I'm thinking of just quitting cold turkey and selling eveyrtrhing I own. I'm at that age where I want to find a young lady to settle down with and owning every WWE, TNA, and UFC dvd is one thing, but it's another to own hundreds of figures and have them on display. I don't know. I know I have one of the most vast collections on the board and it would be a shame to dump them all off, but I want major changes in my life and I'm thinking this may be one of them. Anyone else ever been there? Any and all advice is appreciated.
EDIT: I dont know it's not so much finding a chick who doesn't accept it, it's more about the obsession of having to get every elite, and every new release. I'm on a fixed income and I stretch my funds monthly to make sure I get what I want. A girl accepting my collection is just a part of it, I should have stated that clearer in the original post.

Been there. I actually did quit recently due to music, but you don't have to sell them. Believe me, I had over 300 Jakks figures and ended up selling them off just to wish I still had them when I started collecting Mattels.
Do this.
Take them down and store them where you can't see them for a week or so. If you don't miss having them up, start selling off a little at a time. If you still aren't missing them, keep going.
It just sounds really like you're in a collecting slump, and if a girl really likes you, she'll like you for you, not what you collect. Remember, what we do is a hobby, and if they don't like it, they really don't like you.

Now think about it. Is it really worth getting rid of your pride and joy? Try finding a women who can accept your hobby.

I've never had the sell everything thought, but I have had a think about in years to come. I'm 18, that I'm just enjoying my life and figures being one of them that they're a big part if what's good for me right now. In years to come I may sell them as I don't see the fun lasting forever.
It's up to you, a personal decision. End of the day, we can't make the choice for you. It's something that comes down to how you feel and what's best for you right now.

Vagina is like sand on the beach. Its everywhere. Just find someone that accepts you for who you are. Instead of quitting cold turkey just cut back. I buy only Legends/Flashbacks. Anything else I pick up is for a part swap or having to build some stupid set. It greatly cuts down on cost plus your display wont be too overwhelming when someone comes into your house.

Oh and don't get me started on my near complete UFC figure collection. God only know what I can do with them since they're basically worth $1 on the secondary market LOL

I am in a similar situation you're in. I'm ready to pursue other hobbies and start settling down. It is becoming an expensive in depth hobby. When jakks lost the contract with we I sold off most of my collection only kept a couple, and swore I'd never collect Mattel. Until some how I got wrapped back in it. It seems its a little tougher for you, you have you're figures on display. Mine are all mock in totes in my basement. With my collection I figure why bother even having them I don't see them. You're collection is very vast no doubt about that but I say go with figure addicts suggestion, it sounds like a solid plan. I would also suggest keeping figures of wrestlers you really like. With out the figures wrestling will still be wrestling, the show will go on. Best of luck.

That is way too nice of a collection to dump off. Take a break!
Make this more of a casual hobby if you want to tone it down, but i personally wouldn't quit all together or start selling things on impulse.

I quit n came back. Theres always gonna b that one fig u need and that was the e19 hbk for me. Dont think u cant get a girl B/c u collect. My girl thinks collecting is "cute". I keep telling her no it's manly and awesome. Maybe just cut back a bit n not b a completist. Cut out the basic figs like Coon is doing.

I want to stop before I go crazy with it. I'm 15 right now, and want to stop before 18.
