it was between HotRod and Bulldog, I went with the Bulldog after watching The Hart family dvd the other day and realised how over he was.... I know Piper was over too, but he just didn't need it as much as bulldog did.

Whenever this question pops up I always have to go with Mr. Perfect. No offense to Rowdy, but his championship was the mic. He would have been a great champion, but I think Perfect would have been an even greater champion. Too bad his back held him down.

I mean in retrospect, almost all of these superstars had potential to become the champion. I wasn't exactly old enough to remember how over all of these stars were, but you'd have to think about these wrestlers being able to knock off the top dogs, like Hogan, Warrior or Flair. Sure Perfect was talented as hell in the ring, but was he as big of a star as Hogan? I mean they thrived during the same time period. I'm just curious to know what some of you guys think of that.
But out of the list, I feel like Roddy Piper was really the one who should've won it.

Mr. Perfect
Second would be Owen Hart in place of Bob Backlund.

Gene Snitsky in my opinion. Other than that I'd go with Piper

This question always comes down to Piper and Perfect for me. I tend to put Owen from 94-96 3rd, and Razor from 93-95 right into that same window with Owen. Piper was the mega star heel and is the greatest mic man of all time imo and then Perfect is the most talented total package guy of all time to never get a run imo.
I went with Perfect, but if you ask me again tomorrow I'd probably vote for Piper. Just a shame, as they both deserved a shot.

Jake Roberts definitely should have. Even as high as they were on Hogan for so long in the late '80s/early '90s, they were willing to put the belt on Savage, and I'd say Roberts was just as over and would have brought in a lot of money.

I was torn by Roberts, Piper, Perfect and Owen.
Owen would have been multiple time champion if they had not died. Never understood why Perfect never got a chance after the Hogan era in WWF. I think him a Hart for the belt would have been as good if not better than their IC title fights.
Rpberts, I understand his "demons" and what not, but he never got any title. He should have at least been IC once or twice.
But my pick was Piper. Him and Hogan made Mania, and Hogan dropping the belt and getting it back at WMII would have rocked

I'd say pretty much everyone on there.

I really wanted to say Mr. Perfect but in the mid-80s Piper was on fire as a heel. The top 4 or so in my book:
1) Roddy Piper, 2) Curt Hennig 3) Ted DiBiase 4) Owen Hart 5) Rick Rude

Perfect, Piper, DiBiase.
Lol Val Venis & Test are on there? Whilst they were credible performers they were definitely not World championship material, Neither were Billy Gunn or Matt Hardy.

Perfect, Jake Roberts, Steamboat. Those there are better than some of the guys who held it recently.

I voted Matt Hardy.
Not just because I'm a Hardyz fan, but because both Hardyz at one time were top selling talent, and deny it all you want, they put butts in seats. I wouldn't have even cared if Matt had been a transitional champion, but when he first took off with the V1 gimmick, the guy was on top of the world on Smackdown.
