Anybody who makes a Dick Trickle joke today will be reported. (There have been a few on Facebook pages) Being from Wisconsin and having family who knew Dick personally, we're taking this loss very hard today. Just a word of warning.
This is a loss for the NASCAR and Wisconsin local racing community. Purely tragic. He was the best driver to come from Wisconsin, even if his NASCAR record doesn't show it. He had almost, if not more than 1000 short track and lower tier wins in his career. One of the best. He will be missed.

Im pretty sure you can't report someone for making a Dick Trickle joke...That's like saying you're going to report someone for speaking ill of Chris Benoit. While Trickle did win a lot of small time races, beating Bubba at the Hee-Haw 150 1000 times still doesnt equal Matt Kenseth winning 1 Sprint Cup Title.

Considering how my family knew him personally I'm a little emotional. Matt Kenseth is and will never match up to Dick Trickle's record. Matt Kenseth will tell you that himself.

linkThey're lifting the pit road speed limit for Qualifying for the All Star Race.....As someone that's been on Charlotte Motor Speedway before, I would love to see how they're going to get in the pits at 100mphs.

The pit road speed limit was legalized in like 90-91 after the Elliot crew member died. None of the guys racing currently were around back in those days (except for Mark Martin) and have entered the pits at that speed. Charlotte also has kinda a funky pit entrance coming out of 4. Im not gonna be surprised at all if someone mows the infield grass.

Kinda why I don't want Danica in there (because its nearly a lock she's gonna win the fan vote) because she's so inexperienced. Most of the others I'm not worried about. Maybe Keselowski because he's so aggressive XD

Its not different then a few years ago when, I believe it was Truex was voted in just because Junior was his car owner or backed him or something. At the same time, knowing its "checkers or wreckers" I wouldnt be surprised to see Danica win the thing either...Its just one of those races where you're balls to the walls (or ovaries to the wall?) and you dont worry about "learning". I mean, Michael Freaking Waltrip won it before haha. I would sadly put my money on Jimmie Johnson though. He's pretty dominate at Charlotte over the years.

Then when she wins the fan vote for the All Star, she gets placed behind the cars that placed first and second in the starting lineup. I keep thinking "Kevin Harvick" for this weekend. Think he may win, but most likely it will be Jimmie Johnson or maybe Matt Kenseth or Denny Hamlin. Kurt Busch is my dark horse because of how well he ran in the all star race with Phoenix last year. XDD on The ovaries to the wall comment LOL

Nobody is allowed over the wall during ASR qualifying until the car is stopped - for the record - so the crews will be fine.

Jimmie Johnson is like the John Cena to Nascar, the constant winning kills the sport. Anyone notice Nascar was at its National height and then Johnson came around and won 5 straight and now Nascar cant sell out a race?

Why the hell line-up onto pit road by average finish, when you already know who will win the race off pit road? Kurt Busch stood zero chance of beating a Hendrick car off pit-road, despite he and Kyle being the highest finishers all night.
It's hard to call something an "All-Star Race" when the race is won on pit road vs. drivers.

They did the avg finish thing to try and "spice up" the early segment racing. Teams were known to lag back for the first 3 segments and then race hard in the 4th, get a good pit position and then fight for the win. This way you had to stay out front and run hard to get to the better pit position.
Im still trying to figure out how the FOX crew was saying Johnson has the 11th best avg finish in the segments yet pitted 4th.

However, the better solution would have been for the final segment to be lined-up by the average finish instead of the entry to pit road be for the average finish IMO. Better pit position means jack crapwhen you don't have a Hendrick or Gibbs caliber crew. See: Kurt Busch. And FOX can't do math. Jimmie's average finish was a 6.5 which was the FOURTH best average.

Dr. Jerry Punch of ABC/ESPN lives in my hometown and every Monday he's on the local sports talk radio talking auto racing. He basically said that the All Star race was terrible in the lack of better words. He discussed how the "average finish" thing seemingly made no sense as when they threw the last caution, they spent 6 laps to line the cars up in the proper order and that none of the drivers ever moved their spots from when the yellow flew. A caller called in and asked if he thought it was odd that every time they're at the Lowes track the Lowes car is seemingly dominate and untouchable and Punch said "It does make one wonder".......Punch is one of the most long tenured, respected media members in Auto Racing and even he, without directly saying it, wonders if Johnson gets a little special sponsor advantage when at Charlotte.

Gee, you would think that they would use the 'special sponsor advantage' during - you know - a points paying race. He hasn't won a points paying race at Charlotte since 2009 and before that was 2005. He only has two top five finishes since the 2009 victory with the next best finish being 11th. The others? 37th, 28th, & 34th.
Charlotte isn't even one of Jimmie's top ten best tracks, say that 'advantage' doesn't really seem to work, LOL.
EDIT: And I am not even a 'fan' of Jimmie Johnson, so don't try that.

.....aaaand you've been reported. I hope it was worth it.
Back on topic, I wasn't thrilled with the whole format of the All-Star race this year. As much as I hated the sandbagging last year, it was a better race than the whole "average finish" thing.
