Team WWF (The Rock, Chris Jericho, The Undertaker, Kane, and The Big Show) defeated Team Alliance (Stone Cold Steve Austin, Rob Van Dam, Kurt Angle, Booker T, and Shane McMahon )
how did wwf vs ecw and wcw . . . end up 9/10 or 8/10 wwf super stars? booker T I believe was with wcw till the end, and rvd was original ecw even though he joined wwf earlier than ecw death.
so how did any of this crap invasion story make sense?

There was a complete lack of respect shown to any of the big name ECW and WCW wrestlers. The invasion team should have included DDP and Tazz instead of turncoat WWE stars.
I remember many things about the invasion angle just being bad like Tazz, a guy who had spent the last seven years being an in your face bad ass suddenly becoming a meek and timid coward when confronted by Steve Austin. It was so completely out of character for Tazz and was a big ole bitch slap to every ECW fan.
In the end, a potentially great opportunity was wasted by the WWE merely to push another Rock/Austin feud.

I remember it seemed like a time period in November of 2001 that all the WCW Title belts were on WWE guys.
US Title was on Edge, Tag Titles on Dudleys, WCW Title on Rock.
Really emphasizing WCW real well there.

Test and Christian were apart of it, because I believe in Vince's eyes, that anyone who was a heel at the time, had to be with Team Alliance. The good guys were on team WWE.

I do not care what any one says at the time I ing loved this story line. Its so easy to look back and say that they should have put up the cash and signed so and so, but watching this unfold at the time I really did not care. RAW and Smackdown were must watch TV each week. Austin was awesome playing the paranoid psycho. You never knew what the he was going to do.

Looking back it was a disaster, the potential that could have been the invasion angle. I always wonder what would have happened if the entire WCW talent pool had been available and willing to work from the off set, or if they had perhaps pushed the invasion angle back into 2002 or 2003 so they would have had Hogan, Hall, Nash, Steiner and Goldberg to add into the mix.
Still I was 11 when this angle occured and at the time I loved it! I remember watching Survivor Series and legitimately thinking WCW could win!
As bad as it was, I still look back on it with fond memories, then get sad over how epic it could have potentially been.

The invasion angle has to go down as the biggest missed opportunity that Vince ever had.
DDP, Booker T, Buff, RVD, should have been leading WCW, not Steve Austin ffs.
Why the hell didn't Vince pick up guys like Rick Steiner, Stevie Ray, Lex Luger, Randy Savage, Vader and Mr Perfect in 01 to add a genuine bulk of actual stars to the Invasion, rather than guys like Shane Helms.?
I think Scott Steiner was one of the guys who Vince couldn't sign right away is that right?
