I really enjoyed the fights tonight.
Anyone else think Maynard doesn't have the same chin he used to after getting KO'ed by Edgar? Taking out the Guida fight, because he hardly touched him, he's been knocked out twice. Good for Grant. Him & Bendo should be fun.
I know there's a lot of people who have been on the Hunt bandwagon, & I know he's a feel good story, but now he know's what the top 10 looks like. For the people who were asking for a Hunt title fight, I hope they realize they were out of their minds.
I'm fine with a JDS/Cain fight again. If you think about it, there really hasn't ever been a bad trilogy in the UFC, & I wouldn't expect this to be one. Each guy knows what they need to work on, so there ya go.

They're both by KO, but it could easily just mean that Grant has power.

No disrespect to Grant, but I've gotta think its in his head too. Some guys tend to fight a little different after they get knocked out the first time.

Gray had no respect for Grant and his striking. That's what caused him to lose. He hit Grant with some good punches in the beginning, but still had no respect whatsoever for Grant.

We can't forget about Roy Nelson, gotta put that dude in the mix. I don't think he really belongs in the top mix... I mean he's a tough guy, but whenever he steps up a level (JDS, Mir, Werdum) he gets completely outclassed. Roy against Hunt would be fun though. I'm fine with a JDS/Cain fight again. If you think about it, there really hasn't ever been a bad trilogy in the UFC ...the third Tim Sylvia/Andrei Arlovski fight was a bit of a stinker(!). I don't know - I'm probably in the minority, but I'd rather Cain and JDS have another fight or two against other people before a third fight... it just seems we're going round in circles with them fighting each other every-other fight. If Werdum beats Big Nog (which he should), I'd prefer he get the next title-shot, and have JDS fight Overeem.

I tend to give Tim Sylvia the "Chris Benoit treatment" & forget he was ever a fighter.

the only thing that soils me on werdum getting the next shot, is what he did vs overeem. he didnt wanna strike with him, and he was trying to lure him to the ground/pull guard the entire time. i think velasquez would eat him up.

^ ...you can't really blame him for that though - he just didn't want to play to Overeem's strengths (...the same way Overeem refused to be drawn in to Werdum's strengths/game on the ground). I think Cain/Werdum would be interesting though - especially if Cain took him down or it went to the ground.
