I'll be making a custom cover since the rock will be on it.

I was at work thinking...2k getting the franchise is the best thing for us because now they have a reason to go back to a traditional roster over having a gimmick roster like the attitude era.

If I remember correctly, THQ said that the rosters are chosen by WWE, with little input from THQ or Yuke's.

It was mentioned once when THQ wanted Kendrick & London (the current tag champs at the time) in the game, but WWE wanted them out for Cryme Tyme instead.

I wonder what direction they're taking the roster in this game.

I wonder what direction they're taking the roster in this game. It all depends on what THQ were working on until the takeover. They could of been working on a sequel of some sorts to the Attitude Era mode, or they could be going back to game original storylines.

I wonder what direction they're taking the roster in this game. Me too. I was thinking they might go for an after Attitude Era mode, but they would get roster problems I'm sure. Personally I would prefer if they focused on the current roster (with a career mode.) of course with a bunch of legends.

It'd be awesome if they just used everyone from the last roster and just added the new guys like The Shield, Fandango etc.
Then added more AE guys that aren't on like Neidhart, Albert, Hardcore Holly etc.

I would absolutely love to see a year where we don't lose anyone from the roster outside of those who have left the company since then--and even then, off the top of my head, Kelly Kelly, Beth Phoenix, and Kharma are the only ones.

Eve is the only other one, I think. I've enjoyed WWE 13s roster way too much to be satisfied with WWE 14 unless it's the more of the same. To be honest unless the roster is tiny then I don't see how they could cut the roster down. There have only been 4 people to leave since the last game, who were all divas. Outside of Fandango, The Shield, Big. E, Prime Time Players and maybe Bo Dallas there's not really anyone to add.

I wouldn't mind a cut down roster of about 10 - 20 people who actually feel different due to having their completely own moveset. I'm sick of everybody having the same moveset other than Signatures, Finishers and Taunts (and some grapples)

I'd always rather take a game with a little less flash but more substantial innovations and improvements made to the engine.

Even if the roster was smaller, there's no way they'd put any more effort into movesets or mo-capping moves.

I don't see why the roster would have to be smaller for them to do that either. The two are completely irrelevant. Less Superstars doesn't automatically equal more animations. Even if they made the effort of giving a handful of guys completely 100% unique movesets, they could still include other Superstars and Divas who would have what we usually get. Plus, the last time they really focused on trying to make Superstars feel different when playing, we ended up with the piece of **** that was 08 and those ridiculously limiting fighting styles that crippled movesets.

Yep. Exactly. 08 was so bad I never got another game in the SVR series until WWE 12 came out.

I can only assume that because Rock will be on the cover, that I will be able to play the game one match a year before it breaks or just leaves my house on it's own accord?

Apparently Bruno Sammartino said in a recent interview that he's signed a deal to be in WWE video games.
