New Update came out!!! Added Kamp Krusty for 200 donuts. Also looks like buying Kamp Krusty gives you an alternate costume for Bart. 200 donut price is steep though.

The donut/money ratio in this game is terrible. There is no way I'm going to dish out that kind of money. I can't imagine a game like this costing so much over time. It's nuts. Still fun though! Hopefully I get all the water bought out soon.

Hopefully I get all the water bought out soon. I was thinking that myself the other day. $2 buys you a dozen donuts. It takes 9 donuts to get $1k in game money. Who in the world is going to do that?

Kinda bummed that Kamp Krusty is premium though not entirely surprised. Little strapped for cash right now but once I sell some stuff on eBay here, I'll probably buy it.

Scratch that then. I guess I'm done with the Squidport buildings, vs. the Boardwalk. No additional buildings to build there.

Well, I guess for like $200 you could rush build all the tiles if you wanted to.

I don't think Kamp Krusty Bart is a premium character either. From what I've seen around the web his jobs earn as much as a regular character and only one of his jobs is visible. I think if you're going to spend that much you're better going with Barney or the volcano lair. Barney is a series regular and the jobs for the volcano lair are visible.

Here's to hoping for another donut sale soon. Need to pick up Dr. Nick, Dr. Fink, and Barney sometime.

Haha, yeah I've spent more than I'm willing to admit on this game as I have Scorpio, Barney, Frink, Dr. Nick, Moleman, Squeaky Teen and some of the holiday premiums. Would just be adding to the collection at this point but Kamp Krusty is something I've wanted for a long time.

Which are the best houses to farm, because I am super low on cash I feel like I could write a book on house farming. In short it really depends on how frequently you play the game. There's this wonderful post on how frequently houses pay off and how long it takes to break even - tstotips.com/2013/04/02/how-can-i-quickly-earn-money-in-tapped-out/And this lovely post on house farming - tstotips.com/2013/06/02/whats-the-point-of-house-farming/It really depends on how frequently you play. The brown house pays off in 5 mins, but it only pays off $6. On the other side of the spectrum you've got the orange house which pays off every 16 hrs, but gives you $250. If you play constantly though the brown house pays off 42 times (3.5 hours) and makes $250. So if you sit there for 3.5 hours straight, you'll make more on your brown house than you would waiting 16 hours for your orange house to pay off. You're probably not going to tap every 5 mins for 3.5 hours straight though. If you look at the comments on those articles there's all kinds of discussions on which house is the best to farm. I have brown (5 mins), blue (8h) and purple (3h) in my town. I'm not ashamed of my house farm. Most towns are mainly houses anyway. The thing to remember about house farming is that once a house pays off it generates no income until it's tapped. So let's say you only check your game once every 8 hours. Your brown house is going to have $6 every time you check in. Your blue house is going to have $150. You are better off farming blue houses in that case because you'll need 25 or so brown houses just to match that one blue house. However if you check in frequently, your brown houses will pay off every time and you can make more than if you just had blue houses. The other thing to do is keep your characters on jobs. I see so many towns where characters are just wandering around idle. I've seen some where all their characters were idle. I don't get that. You earn no money at all when you're doing that. Also, shorter jobs earn more money per hour than longer jobs.

I really enjoy Frink (Got him, Moleman and Squeaky Voice Teen for $20 and enjoy him the most of those three). I really, really, really want Barney so I hope he goes on sale. He's ridiculously overpriced.

These boardwalk sections are killing me. I'm only on section 12 and they are now taking 24 hours a piece to build. You've got to build them first before you can build the buildings of course and those take 24 hours to build as well. From what I've read as you build more pieces it gets to where you have to wait 3 days for each piece. I can't imagine only building two pieces in a week.
As far as spending money, what is like crack to me is those stupid $1 scratchers. They're cheap and easily affordable. Most of the time I get a dozen donuts. When I don't, I usually end up with 6 donuts. I can deal with that. 12 donuts is $2 if you just buy them. So, if I get a dozen for $1 it's a deal for me and if I just get 6 donuts instead that's about what they should cost so I don't care. I probably buy one at least once a week even though I know I shouldn't. It gives me donuts to rush build stuff over the weekend. I'm smart enough to do the math and realize that I'm spending $52 a year on a stupid mobile game, but I do it anyway.

Which should I buy first the water expansion for the boardwalk or Springfield downs? Definitely the water expansion... The Downs is a waste of money (betting) but you do need it for a couple missions.

Which should I buy first the water expansion for the boardwalk or Springfield downs? I'd go with the water expansion. Once you buy it, it costs like $4500 to place the Squidport entrance. Then you can start building tiles. My plan is to just stockpile tiles and once I get the rest of the town built I'll come back to the Squidport. By all accounts it's expensive and time consuming to build. The buildings have to sit on boardwalk tiles so you have to build the tiles first. I'm on tile 12 and it's taking 24 hours to build. So my plan is to come back when I have a crap ton of tiles and build the buildings but tiles are fairly inexpensive ($5k for the 24 hr one) so I can easily build them while working on the rest of my town. The dog track is fairly worthless. It has a huge footprint and does virtually nothing. It gives Moe, Homer and Krusty 3hr tasks which may or may not benefit you. Betting on the dogs is a sure way to lose your money and make you hate yourself. Just like in real life. I'm not a fan of it at all. With my schedule, the 3 hr tasks work for me which is the only reason why I haven't boxed the thing in my inventory.

Couldn't agree more. I hate the Downs. The disease and the building.
