Ha, Moffat you beauty. What an episode. Sets up the final nicely.
They also announced this week the guest stars and the synopsis for the Xmas episode. Sounds great. Hopefully we get to see a lot of Greg Davies.

A very interesting episode. I liked the one man play aspect of it. It is always risky to have one actor carry an entire episode of a show but Capaldi pulled it off. I'm looking forward to what happens next which is something I haven't felt very often this season.

A very interesting episode. I liked the one man play aspect of it. It is always risky to have one actor carry an entire episode of a show but Capaldi pulled it off. I'm looking forward to what happens next which is something I haven't felt very often this season. I had been excited for this episode all season. I found out about it before I knew Clara was dying, before I knew where the season finale would take him...the whole lot. I thought it was a unique idea because I've seen one man plays for 500 people but never a one man show for 2.6 million. I kind of had a feeling when you saw the body and hand at the very beginning pulling the lever that it was The Doctor, and after he jumped into the pond and had dry clothes for him I was sure of it. The villain was pretty cool, and the idea that his biggest nightmares were inside his confessional and he got to be the first Time Lord to see what his own Confessional was was pretty cool. As for The Doctor being the hybrid, can't say anyone saw that coming. A whole season of guessing it was maybe Missy, Ashildr, Clara, River...never would have assumed it was The Doctor. When he arrived outside the main city and ran into the boy I knew exactly where he was at before they panned to the dome. But when he told the boy "Tell someone important I'm back, just took the long way around" I flipped the hell out because that was one of 11's best monologues. Fantastic episode and I literally cannot wait till next week. Damn Moffat you clever ing ass.

So... first things first... the episode was faultless. I literally can not find a fault in it, all because of Capladi's masterclass in acting. I got a little confused at times but it explained everything toward the end. The idea of him being there for billions of years to live the same day in out all to break the glass was something I'd never actually seen pulled off before, and for a idea which I thought after would of needed allot of buildup, the music, acting, dialog was all too perfect to even care how fast it was done. Without a doubt my favorite Capaldi episode. I have waited a long time to just see Capaldi doing what he does best and the fact we got to see him and only him for the whole show was fantastic. About next weeks episode, I was talking to my mate about two things: The Karn chicks and how Doc is half a Darlek... talking about this, I might aswell write it in white incase spoilers: So, about the Karn, and I'll just call them the Karn since effort to do the whole name: My mate told me about how they were banished from Gallifrey after Rassilon became the ruler since they opposed him, and in the trailer they looked to be back on Gallifrey which he found weird. So there could be something there, maybe something of a conspiracy on the planet. And about how the Doc could be part Darlek: He told me how the 'Pythia' were Timelords who a ability of future sight, and the myth which was told of a person who was half Timelord and half Darlek was actually told when the Pythia looked far into the future for whatever reason of the Doc, seeing the trials he faces and how morals get blurred when it comes to Darleks. He said how the Doc said at the end 'Nobody can be half Darlek' so it was more of a metaphorical thing... the power of a Timelord and the ruthlessness of a Darlek.Just to say... I called the Doc being the Hybrid from the start... just saying... I read that the finale is meant to finish on a cliffhanger... which sucks... but I also read that Weeping Angels are showing up. And... what's everybodys thoughts on what the Doctor told the kid at the end... I think it was something like 'I know what they've done!'... what is he on about?. ALSO!... I guess this might be obvious... but was it the Timelords who bought the Doc to that castle or whatever it was in the first place?.

I'm assuming him being captured inside his confession dial was the doing of Missy and Davros, so yeah, Timelords fault there. I don't think the Hybrid is Timelord with the fury of a Dalek though. I think Moffat might be retcanoning 8's half human/half Timelord statement. Outside of the Timelords and Dalek who does the Doctor consider the mightiest, greatest, smartest and most ruthless species in the galaxy? Humans. He ran because he was afraid because he wasn't a pure Timelord. It's dangerous not to be. Look at Donna and River, part human, part Timelord. Didn't turn out well for either of them. It makes sense to me anyways.

Talk about it till your heart's content, just use spoiler tags so myself and Richius don't get spoiled before the States get to see it. Since ROH is on at 9 pm in my area I actually watch the midnight re-showing of Doctor Who which is why I avoid WFigs, or at least this thread, on Saturday nights. All the same, if I did get spoiled I would have to hold you while bad guy™ kicked your shins...or maybe something a tad bit higher

Surely the hybrid is half human, half time lord - a la the McGann TV movie?
Anyhoo, marked so hard when I realised that it was his plan from the star and he was willing to repeat until necessary. Also, the irony being that the thing that saved him was the thing that he never does (use his fists.)
Couple that with the end if episode reveal and I'm crapting myself for next week

That was a horrific episode. The plot was stupid and made no sense at all Moffat really has outstayed his welcome and crap like this proves that he needs to go.
However Capaldi shined through the entire episode and pulled it off perfectly and proved to be one of the best Doctors of the modern show.

How can the episode be terrible but the only character in the episode doing everything the script tells him to do be good? That doesn't make much sense to me, no offense.
