When I worked in restaurants and shops I'd always be more respectful to the customer, some of them werent fun to serve but I smiled and gave them a good service and I tried to always have a smile on my face (not that hard to do). If I had a small problem with a customer, like the way they passed change then I would mention it to a work colleague and see what they thought, I wouldnt bad mouth the customer in front of them or behind their back without reason. I would say I never worked in fast food, which is considered at the lower end of jobs, but it still takes nothing to be polite to customers when they act in a nice way.
This lady sounds like she either has a really high opinion of herself of she wants to be treated in a higher class than she deserves. Worse is that the management didnt seem to care at all, the gift coupon seems more a way of keeping you as a paying customer than to actually rectify the situation, this seems really poorly handled by them.

I'd call them back and get her fired now.. I already called corporate back. The franchise manager has to call me back now. I have a feeling he won't though. You turned it in to a My word(customer) vs her word (employee). She called and said she was sorry. Yet you still pushed it. So unless McDonalds loves you then they'll take her word for it and that's the end of that. Push it any further and she'll have basis to say you are just some nut job that is harrasing her.

I only wanted an apology, a sincere one. Or at least pretend to be sincere.

People are just horribly rude. I've never had an experience like that, but I would do the same. Honestly, you should've said "I'M THE ADMIN OF WFIGS PROBOARDS NOW BOW DOWN AND GIVE ME RESPECT! I would never expect anyone to bow down to me, lol. I am not looking for that. But I do expect common courtesy. Hell if I was the meanest customer in the world she should be courteous or at least walk away and let someone more qualified and in a better mood to deal with it. I didn't even do anything wrong, I was not disrespectful or mean. Somehow though she thought that by me not picking up the money and putting it in her hand that I was being disrespectful. And even if it was... a manager of a McDonalds who cannot handle a disrespectful customer? Seriously? How does someone like this become a manager of anywhere? How is that even possible? JS Psshh, you know you want people to bow down to you. Joking aside, the lady shouldn't call you ignorant. People slide the money all the time. What's the difference if you do? Oh, and Nifty Fifty's is awesome. Love their milkshakes and chicken. (Sorry Jack )

But still, they offered. And you were inconvenienced so they should have to pay for there mistakes. If I make a mistake at work I get tickted and have to pay fines. So if the girl at Mcdonalds makes a mistake then I dont frown on them giving me something to compensate. I pay my tickets and learn, next time dont speed, dont skip a stop sign, and so on. (I havnt ever had a moving violation btw just using it as an example) And paying those tickets, or in my case, the fear of having to pay those fines teaches me to do things the proper way. And likewise, I would think, giving customers gift cards will help McDonalds to learn to do things the poper way.

jack I used to work at a Kmart and every now and then id over hear some cashiers saying how they cant stand it when people dont hand them cash and leave it on the counter. I dont get it one bit and it takes alot of ignorance to do something like that person did to you. You cant get good or even decent service anywhere these days.

Maybe those 25 years way from McDonald turned out to be a blessing in disguise? Of course I'm only kidding, I'd just take my business to either another McDonald establishment that can handle themselves professionally without causing a confrontation over something so trivial and idiotic or just ball straight call myself towards the nearest Wendy's restaurant otherwise. Regardless, what wit it must take to promote a employee of that caliber to manger. I think what she decide to pull was indeed racial hostilely which was completely pointless because it was absolutely unprovoked. Something that really keeps the clock ticking to me is anything that involves interracial interaction, one or the other feels compelled to defensive and rude altogether. Of course I know this isn't always the case but I it's just something people should be aware of. Anyways, I would go back to the very same McDonald's, call the manger up the front counter and have a little surprise waiting for her...
Of course there's the thought that she was having a bad day but I've seen faar to many incidents similar to this that turns out much much worse then it should have because of tension amongst the two.

OMG People with your attitude PISS the crap out of me. How dare you frown upon someone elses job? What makes you so better? Usually an Education. People who work at McDonalds have educations. Would you rather an uneducated person stay at home and collect unemployment? Is a human being who works a minimum wage job less of a person to you? I think McDonalds provides decent jobs for decent people. Everyone has to start somewhere. Even if you didnt have an education McDonalds opens a lot of doors to you. It will teach you how to work in a very fast paced environment. It will teach you to work retail, dealing with customers. It will teach you the ins and outs of restaurants. If you're a good learner you may even one day open your own restaurant. I just hate people who frown on others. People like you who think they are better than others for no real reason. God forbid you ever take out a mortgage and need a part time job and have to work local retail like a McDonalds.

Not once did I ever say I was better than anyone so you might wanna retract your statement or comprehend better. Ive worked in retail for nearly 15 years and 95% of your "higher ups" are College Educated (at least an Associates Degree)graduates. When I was younger I floundered with "minimum wage" dead end jobs and realized that hard work will only take you so far (as will an education) but with them combined the skies the limit. Mickie Ds pays their managers well, there's no doubts about that but Id be willing to bet that a majority of your SUCCESSFUL managers have either had to suffer for years and years and years of burger flipping or fry tossing or they're.....educated.

To a cashier most of the time there is nothing more rude to them than when a customer puts the money on the counter for them to it pick up.
Every morning when I went to wawa I observed the dirty looks people would get when a customer would just put the money on the counter...better yet when the change would bounce and clang around.
About .05 seconds after I finished your post..I thought you put the money on the counter.....
Social curtisey is handing the cashier your money.

Sunshine, LollyPops, and rainbows everythinnggg (batterys dead) You said education made you better than a McDs employee. Thus putting yourself in a position that makes you look like a stuck up person. You need to go back and look at what you originally replied to.

Wait why did she say you were ignorant though? Because she expected me to pick the money up off the counter and place it in her hand. Maybe I should bow down to her and kiss her feet, throw her a parade, and beg for her worthiness? We ended up going to a place called "Nifty Fiftys" and sat down, go severed way more food and it cost less even with tip! And I didn't get treated like a piece of crap. yay! wtf...shoulda called the bitch stong then RKO'd her.
