Has there ever been a storyline that certain wrestlers refused to do?, maybe for personal beliefs or something.

Well Bret Hart tried not to do an angle with Shawn Michaels leading up to SS 1997 but we all know how that worked out.

When DX reformed back in 2006, Shawn Michaels had to veto a whole load of material that Vince wanted them to do because he had become a born again Christian in his time away from wrestling ('98-'02) and wasn't comfortable with the stuff they wanted him to do. He said he had to say no to a lot of the t-shirt designs they wanted to go for because he said they were "graphic".
Hulk Hogan pretty much decided what he was or wasn't going to do for pretty much his entire professional career.

Kristal Marshall was going to be paired up with Edge and play a Lita like role but she refused and they fired her.

I think Shawn just vetoed being directly involved cause HHH did a lot of mature bits (him and Candice recieving oral sex under a picnic table) while Shawn ran off screen usually to find Mr. Fuji. I enjoyed that initail run of the D-X reunion the situations were hilarious. Didn't Taker veto a lot of stuff with the DDP stalker storyline?

Which really makes Shawn quite hypocritical if you think about it after he did the Vince/God angle. Why say yes to that then just a few months later veto DX stuff?

Austin refused to job to Lesnar wasn't a storyline man. Austin had no issue jobbing to Lesnar....he didn't want to do it on Raw with no build at all.it hadn't even been announced the week before.

Didn't The Rock refuse to work with Shawn Michaels because of how he was treated by Shawn when he was first breaking in?

Owen Hart refused to do an angle where he was lusting after/having an affair Debra while he was tagging with Jeff Jarrett because he didn't want his family seeing that and thought it was lewd, where it was supposed to lead to a Jarrett v. Owen feud. Shortly after, the Blue Blazer gimmick came back. It was rumored that he became the Blazer again as punishment for turning down the storyline. It's a shame because we all know how that turned out. But I'm glad Owen stuck to his morals.

Scott Hall refused to do an angle with Goldust in 96 and this also played a key role in his leaving of the company to go to wCw. That and many other factors, His contract was up, wcw offered more money and less demanding work schedule. It was rumored prior to the start of the angle that Razor was supposedly going to be KISSED by goldust at some point during this fued and that goldust would be the reason for Razor "loosing his matches and machismo". Thankfully it never happened although the angle started a WWF IN YOUR HOUSE event, but I don't think it went passed that. He just ended up loosing to Vader on his last night with the company.
I see his point though...would've kinda messed up his gimmick and who knows what WWF would've done with him later. Razor & Goldust tag-team champions...Razor turns gay. The Possibilities are scary.

I believe Jim Cornette said in one of his shoots that Stone Cold Steve Austin refused to lose to Marc Mero after he was powerbombed by Sable. Austin felt, storyline wise, it wasn't believe for Mero to beat him after his girlfriend hit him with a powerbomb

A whole bunch of roster members refused to work with Public Enemy when they were signed by the WWE. It led to them leaving the company shortly after their debut.

Jim Cornette said in a shoot that Shawn Michaels did not want to work with Vader (and basically anyone else) in 1996 and that his refusal to put Vader over ultimately led to Vader's lack of success in WWE. He also told the hilarious story that Shawn made Vader cry in the ring because Shawn had told him he'd get him fired for pulling his hair. Lots of Shawn in this thread, huh?
