Sting having a problem with most of WWE's storylines at the time is a factor that kept him with wCw and TNA. He is also born again christian and had same problems with content that HBK had

Halls problem with the Goldust character is well known....but Michaels wouldn't work a title program with Goldust in the fall of 96 either.

Before WrestleMania 13 or 14, 14 IIRC, Foley refused to work a program with Mero because he knew he could do better. He even told Mero to his face "They want us to work an angle, but I told them no."
Of course, the whole Punk/Bryan at WrestleMania 27.
Goldberg in WCW refusing to work the angle with Jericho, but Jericho forced it and pushed it as much as he could.
Not really an angle, but there's the infamous match where Regal refused to put Goldberg over like an untouchable monster in 30 seconds like everyone else did. And lesser known incident where I think Paul Roma was supposed to make (once again) I think Alex Wright look great in his debut, but no sold and made him look like the drizzling craps.
Some names or facts may be a bit jumbled; I'm exhausted. Feel free to correct me.

Jeff hardy refused a storyline where he would kiss Lita because he didn't feel it was right to be on screen kissing his brothers girlfriend.

Well Scotty 2 Hotty and Grandmaster Sexay (Scott Taylor & Brian Christopher back then) were supposed to get a gay marriage like Billy & Chuck back in St Valentine's Day Massacre. But both didn't want to go through with it, and Jerry Lawler stepped in and protested so it was scrapped... for 3 years. Thank god it didn't go through, it would probably killed their careers and they might never have gotten to become 2 Cool. Then again we may have never had Rikishi "Do it for da Rock" because of this. Think of the endless repercussions.

The Unamericans were broken up because Test and Christian refused to cut their hair short like Lance Storm. Ironically, they both ended up getting haircuts within a year anyway.

Austin refused to job to Lesnar wasn't a storyline man. Austin had no issue jobbing to Lesnar....he didn't want to do it on Raw with no build at all.it hadn't even been announced the week before. also he walked due to his neck being in such bad shape

I believe Jim Cornette said in one of his shoots that Stone Cold Steve Austin refused to lose to Marc Mero after he was powerbombed by Sable. Austin felt, storyline wise, it wasn't believe for Mero to beat him after his girlfriend hit him with a powerbomb And he was right.

If I remember right, Kazarian also didn't want to cut his hair and ended up leaving WWE, only to cut it anyway after going back to TNA.

Jim Cornette said in a shoot that Shawn Michaels did not want to work with Vader (and basically anyone else) in 1996 and that his refusal to put Vader over ultimately led to Vader's lack of success in WWE. He also told the hilarious story that Shawn made Vader cry in the ring because Shawn had told him he'd get him fired for pulling his hair. Lots of Shawn in this thread, huh? Not a lot of people wanted to work with Vader. Was watching the Bret Hart Blu-ray and his match with Vader and thoughts was included - Bret said he liked him but was very rough in the ring throwing "potato punches" quoted by Bret. Vince wasn't a fan of Vader's style so that really was his downfall. He was great in WCW and Japan though.

Kristal was supposed to be the wedding planner for Edge and Vickies wedding which saw Kristal ending up being the one Edge was having an affair with. She refused so Alicia Fox was called up to the main roster to partake in the angle instead. Shortly after refusing Kristal was released from the WWE.

But, he thought Vince would love him because of his size and previous success. Obviously, that did not happen.

Well, I believe he had problems with what they did during the attitude era, and it was well after that when his contract came up. But I don't think TNA or wCw did anything as edgy as wwe did though.

Too bad it never happened. it sure does.....HBK was apparently so offended at the notion he was stunned into silence...it was probably because he had been so outspoken against the character in the first place.
