Maybe they have to use the small pad because its the only plain surface they have and the need to be able to get the lips design on them. Did Billy wear kickers? If they gave him Miz' boots & pads that might work
*nevermind just read Bill's post. in the end I really am just happy we are finally getting a proper modern Billy Gunn figure

I dont see why its such a big deal. Even if the final product looks this way, it will still be the best Billy Gunn figure ever made. I think some of you care a little too much about the smallest details.

Definitely need taller boots, the Road Warrior's would be a good choice if they want to reuse parts. As far as the pads, I'd probably go with the squarish Orton-style pads and just have the legs painted with the black supports.

Im late seeing all these pics. That Billy Gunn figure looks really good but i agree with the problem concerning the gap between the knee pads and boots, hopefully it gets sorted by Mattel. Head scan looks sweet just cant wait to see the finished article. Road dogg looked amazing, i couldnt get over it. Mattel nailed that one.

I think the prototype looks pretty good as it is.

i wanna know if the e23 HHH attire color is final cuz that aint silver....its not even close. even with all the things i want changed/fixed, this was still the best Mattel WWE SDCC yet. Holy crapDude, is that all you do is complain & criticize? Honestly from the SDCC Thread & This thread all you've been doing is complaining & pointing out ALL the negatives. It's really annoying. Chii...

I know what we saw is only a digital concept image...but the knee pad and boot positioning is all wrong. Look at the digital concept pic....there is a HUGE gap between the knee pads and boot... Look at Billy Gunn in real life...from the time he started wearing shorts, there was NEVER a gap between his knee pads and boots. His knee pads are essentially right on top of his boots and always have been. Even if Mattel makes that area all black, it's still a really large gap. I get that they probably don't have a tall enough boot mold already in existence and just used the closest one they had. HOLY %$#* I haven't seen this, the face scan looks perfect to me, can't wait!! Thank you mattel haha but yeah hopefully they fix the kneepads or boots whatever, but I'm just glad they're releasing the Badass

It really doesn't bother me that much. I knew they weren't going to make a new boot mold for Billy. Between the smaller pads and the longer leg sleeves I prefer these to be honest. I'm just glad we're getting a Billy Gunn.

I agree whole-heartedly with the OP here. I'm beyond thankful that we're getting the New Age Outlaws period, but since this will be their first WWE figures in nearly ten years, I definitely want to get the best product possible.
Road Dogg looks fantastic, no issue there. Immensely impressive, MDT.
Everything about B. A. looks spot-on except for the boots/calves. I just don't see any way to address that huge gap with pads or paint. I agree with others that the best solution may be to go with Road Warrior boots molded in white. Its a trade off, really. The Ziggler boots have the straps but aren't quite the correct shape, whereas the Road Warrior boots look EXACTLY like Billy Gunn's boots sans straps. RW boots and shorter calves would solve this problem instantly.
Not complaining at all, just offering my two cents on what could improve this figure, especially since its still in such an early phase and tweaks can still be made. If Jakks BCA got it right, shouldn't Mattel?!
