Denied at the register today when I tried to purchase some spin master figures at Target. And this store their system says hold until the Jan 19th. lol But I did have Big Bad ship my PoL today so at some point in the next 10-14 days I should have my DCC BtAS Bane, Mr Freeze, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy along with the Batman B&W PVC set #4. I got an email from EEarth letting me know that my BtAS Bane, Freeze, Croc and Ivy will be shipping this week as well!!.. can’t wait for these... sooooo happy I passed on the Rogues 4 pack in when it came out... saved hundreds this way... Wait, aren't all EMails from Earth!?

Picked up the new McFarlane Batman and the Animated Batman from Walmart tonight. They came in an all Batman case of six, three of each one. I also picked up the new Spin Masters 12 inch Batman and Blue Batman from Target.

They tower over Mattel DC and marvel legends

So my WalMart didn’t receive the spin master figures and now the warehouse shows them b/o until Feb.
And the Targets now switch everything Spin Master and McFarlane to a Jan 19 street date. This pushing back the street date at Target is really starting to annoy me.

Found most of the McFarlane toys at my local Walmart. Comic Batman looks just as bad in person as it did in the promo pics. Hopefully future Batman releases look better. I did grab comic Superman. Besides the single jointed elbows, weird knees, and a “rubber band” neck, it’s a pretty good figure.
The animated figures look better in person than the promo pics. I grabbed Batman, and Green Lantern is tempting, but passed on him for now since they made him way out of scale with Superman and Batman.
Didn’t see the armored figures but not really interested in them. May grab Nightwing when I see him but promo pics make it look like his thighs are way too long like Batmans.

The only DC figure I was able to get today. Walmart had nothing else and Target changed their Street date from today until next Sunday now. Target is ridiculous. I found a Target the other day with the new McFarlane figures and got stopped like everyone else. Luckily they poped up the same day at a Walmart down the road and I grabbed the ones I wanted with no issues. I’m cool spending my money at another store if Target doesn’t want it. The whole idea of street dates for toys is ridiculous, and this situation is even worse considering the shippers with the figures say 1/1/20 yet Target is holding them until the 19th.

Especially when last week the McFarlane figures weren’t street dated. They rang up. Today when the Spin Master stuff was supposed to be out according to the registers last week now are all street dated for next Sunday. I asked them why cases marked with a Jan 1 street date couldn’t be sold until the 12th and was told whatever their system says is what they need to go by. Then today I asked “Why everything was now street dated the 19th now when it was the 12th (S.M.) or no Street Date (McFarlane) last week? I thought the dates couldn’t be changed in the system so how (and how come) they are changed now?” They had no answer at customer service.
It’s just so annoying because the things I wanted most were the regular Batman and Nightwing from the 4” Spin Master line. And the McFarlane Detective Comics Batman, Animated Batman and Nightwing from McFarland yet I only found the 12” S.M. And the Superman case of McFarlane.

And the McFarlane Detective Comics Batman, Animated Batman and Nightwing from McFarland yet I only found the 12” S.M. And the Superman case of McFarlane. Agreed with all of this. I had the same argument with the Target I visited when I tried to purchase the Comic Superman. Customer Service - “The system says we cannot sell this yet.” Me - “The box right there says 1/2/20. It’s 1/8/20.” Customer Service - “You see sir, the system says we cannot sell it.” This was the same response I got about three more time before I gave up. Drove across the street and just spent my money at Walmart. For movies and video games, I get street dates. Heck, even with movie figures that could spoil something I get. But when it’s a wave with a bunch of comic styled figures, who cares whether you sell them on 1/1 or 1/19? If they’re out, sell them to me or you loose a sale. And if it’s such a big deal, why are your employees careless enough to put them out?

Saw the Spinmaster 4" figs at a local Target this morning... Was able to but Man Bat, but NOT King Shark (still street-dated for the Target-exclusives, apparently). Ridiculous.

Yeah, a bunch of legal gobbledygook I guess with the street dates...better to only have the Poison Ivy figures on pegs for the DC/Batman section like in my Target. lol

Just a comment regarding street dates. It’s most likely caused by contract agreements between the manufacturer’s salesperson and the retailer’s buy, which likely includes some type of chargeback/fee.
For example, let’s say McFarlane goes into a meeting with Target to get they’re figures on the shelves. Target tells them “We’ll carry your product, but you have to pay us $1,000 per item each year for the shelf space.” Or Target says “We’ll carry your product, but since it’s new, we’re going to charge you back $1 for every figure that gets scanned at the register for the first three months.”
In situations like that, street dates are important as they effectively determine the timelines of contracts. Now, the constant changing of the dates tells me there’s some kind of system glitch, or the salesperson and buyer are still tinkering with the deal.
I get that it’s frustrating as a consumer, but it seems like the people getting hit with the backlash are the store employees stocking shelves and working the registers, aka people who have nothing to do with it. These are people just trying to get through the day and get their paycheck. They’re just trying to pay their bills. Stuff probably ends up out on the shelves early because they don’t really care. I guess what I’m saying is the last thing they need is us whining to them that we can’t buy our toys. Put yourself in the shoes of the person at the register you’re arguing with. He/she has no control over someone putting stuff on the shelves that doesn’t belong there. All they can see is the system telling them they can’t ring it up, and now because of someone else’s mistake they have someone giving them crap they shouldn’t have to deal with.

I didn’t even go out today as I was up since 3am vomiting. It’s 5:21pm now and I am going to sleep. I’ll see what tomorrow brings at Walmart.

Pre-ordered the Batman who Laughs from Amazon. Supposedly shipping on the 17th. I figured to give 1 figure a try, and chose something unique that hasn't had a mass release figure.
