The cowl actually would come off, it's rubber. But there's not a "full" head underneath Huh I never knew the cowl was removeable like that. Weird how I haven't seen it mentioned on any of the toy sites/forums I visit. Kinda cool. Although an alternate, fully-sculpted unmasked head would have been better. Would love to see a customizer try and turn this into a proper unmasked head. That head reminds me of when Darth Vader took his helmet off in Return of The Jedi

Bought the '89 Batman tonight at last! Then his leg broke out of the package. So tomorrow I go back and hope to exchange it. If not, I'll grab Vader from the Star Wars Black Series.

I bought one and got the same thing. Second one, had a ed up leg. If you guys look closely at some pics (you can see some on ebay), you'll see some that look all out of balance and what not. If you heat them up with hot water, the belt/underwear piece will slide down. Also, after that the legs seemed to even up somewhat. I'm trying to get another right now to customize it to a full head but I won't do anything to the one I have now because it finally is a decent piece and I don't wanna purchase another POS. Neca can be awful shoddy sometimes in my experiences.

I considered keeping the NECA Batman with the broken leg and just gluing it. Then, removing the head from under the cowl and using the "empty" suit as a prop in a batcave display. Might still grab one for that purpose, if I can find someone with a broken one they'd let go for cheap.

I was furious when I discovered mine was busted. I boxed the bastard right back and sent him back to Hastings (ordered online.) Afterwards, I regretted it because I would have rather kept him, gotten another, and glued the leg like you said and customized the head.

Speaking of broken figures. I just received an email from UPS saying my package contains my DCD "Son of Batman" figures will be delivered tomorrow. Here's hoping DCD has finally changed their use of the brittle clear plastic they have been using for articlation pins since day one. I read somewhere that they changed it but I will find out tomorrow if it's true or not.

I read somewhere that they changed it but I will find out tomorrow if it's true or not. Man, I hope it comes out alright. Nothing worse than opening a box and getting a screwed up figure. Fortunately for me, I don't fool with many lines so I fairly well know what to expect. I used to collect horror movie figures. I have some of the diamond select Universal stuff. Paid a good chunk for a box set of the Wolfman, Mummy, Frankenstein, and creature from the black lagoon, I think Wolfmans foot was busted. Other than that, out of all my Neca, Mezco horror stuff was beautiful. Then I got into the Masterpiece Transformers which are great figures. I still haven't bought one with a problem but with their price they damn well better not. The only time I've ever had issues was with Mattel and Neca. I got on the matty ghostbusters line and got a figure with a broken proton and bought the GB2 Christmas 4-pack at TRU, 3 of the 4 had screwed up feet/leg joints. Bought a neca F13th Jason and both legs were broken at the hips. I saved it for parts and tested it out in the hot water to verify that boiling my new batman wouldn't screw anything up.

Speaking of broken figures, I just bought a TNBA Batman, awesome figure. Heard lots of reports about broken knees, mine's fine so far.

Speaking of broken figures, I just bought a TNBA Batman, awesome figure. Heard lots of reports about broken knees, mine's fine so far. On mine, it was the ankle, not the knee. I will say to DC Collectible's favor, it wasn't the clear plastic peg, it was the ankle joint itself on the foot. I've been lucky with DCC, I only have a couple Arkham Origins figures but they're fine. Since the start of 2015, I've had rotten figure luck. My Hall of Fame Trish Stratus is missing plates on her title, and my NECA Batman '89 broke right out of package. However, I was able to get a loose DCUC style Aquaman with his trident for 7.50 from a local shop. I believe it's the New 52 version.

I don't think I'll ever find multiverse black mask at retail. I really don't want to spend over 20 bucks online but I might have to. My area is still flooded with Zod and unmasked batman.

I'm sure you'll find Black Mask. I only saw the assortment the one time at WM. But I'm sure the set will show up in force soon.

That Mattel Damien Wayne Robin looks cool. I was never enamored with the character, but I really loved the first run of "Batman and Robin" with Grayson as Batman and Damien as Robin. Too bad we never got a Grayson Batman DCUC figure, I would have loved to add that to my collection.

That Mattel Damian Robin looks great. I wasn't quick enough to order one from Mattycollector, now I'm trying to find one on eBay that won't cost an arm and a leg
