I didn't see the game tonight, but I don't think it was any exaggeration to say in the 2011-2012 season, he was one of the best goalkeepers in the world. He has been absolutely useless recently though, and I just cannot see him being dropped, by City or England. I can't even see City going out and buying another keeper in January, to give him some proper competition.

He never was. I was a big fan of his well before he started gaining his current cult status, but he never was THAT good. He was good the year City won the title (but not BITW like a lot of people said). Last year and this he's been shocking. I expect an endemic lack of competition at both club and national level has caused it. I'll be shocked if he's still in between the City sticks this time next year. People quite often back then would ask; "who's the best GK in the world: Iker Casillas, Manuel Neuer or Joe Hart."

The goal that beat Sociedad in the 88th minute Also, di Maria's assist for Ronaldo's second last night was class.

Both of those were definitely better than Hart.

Dortmund were not at their best tonight, but punished Arsenal's defensive lapses. Wasn't a particularly good game to watch, surprisingly.
Really hope Sociedad can pull of an upset at Old Trafford tomorrow.

Love that cska are just painting their pitch green instead of trying to fix it.

Also, Ronaldo 7 goals in 2 and a half Champions League games. Surely there's no doubt who's the best in the world at the moment?

That was a really entertaining game between United and Sociedad tonight. United should have scored four or five, yet Sociedad were also unlucky not to get something. Good stuff. That was a joke of a performance from Ibrahimovic tonight.

Ibra must be a shoe in to be nominated for the Ballon D'or. He might not of had as many goals as Messi and Ronaldo but he's been as good as them in the past 12 months.
Ronaldo still BITW though.

Also scored this beaut at the weekend: I'm in love with the guy, ever since he left Barca I've loved him and his hatred of them. His quotes about Guardiola's philosophy being "advanced bullcrap about blood, sweat and tears." The fact the English media crap on him, asking if he really was that good just for him to score 4 including what some to be one of the best goals they've ever seen. The way he throws his weight about and uses his stature (especially for a 32 year old) is outrageous. He really does whatever the Zlatan wants <3 It's a shame the World Cup won't feature one of the 2 most in-form players on the planet right now..

Good result for United tonight. Im hoping Moyes plays Kagawa more often now. I actually think Moyes' cautious tactics will ultimately come good and the United team will adapt. Wait and see.

Those goals from Ibra are outrageous. Bale didn't even touch the ball tonight when he came on, bless him. We're always here if you need us, Gareth.

That outburst and him not believing the ball should be given to Messi all the time. I thought moving to PSG was a bit of a step down but he's arguably played what I think is his best football in his career. Ballon D'or NEEDS to go to either him or Ronaldo this year.

Ribery is a good shout for the Ballon D'or too this year. He's been fantastic the past 2 seasons.
Ibra is just a quality player who I not only love watching play football, but his other antics are hard not to enjoy too! That goal last night was ridiculous. I would love to see him in the Prem once.

Saying that, Ronaldo deserves the Ballon D'or. Ibra and Ribery are fantastic, and in almost any other era they'd be in with a shout, but Ronaldo & Messi are just different level. Glad we won. Giggs was fantastic. We need to take more chances though. Happy Chicha and Kags got starts.

Benzema didn't get a touch until the dying seconds of the first half. Getting rid of Higuain has made him lazy again imo. He needs competition and I just don't see it in Morata. I don't get the fuss about the kid, but I'd probably still start him against Barcelona as Benzema has been terrible lately.

Frank Ribery would be my pick for player of the year.
