With the way some parents are today and how entitled many children have become, you have to wonder if some of them are actually allowing their children to do this and returning it for them so they don't have to buy the more expensive figures. We're constantly reminded in this society that the average person only has morals when it comes to getting caught red-handed. I don't even want to think about how much that would impact a growing child's concept of right and wrong. Good point. My 8 year-old son who I collect figures with loses his mind every time he sees a figure with a stolen belt or accessory out of it. Even at his young age he realizes that the people that do it our lowlife scumbags. |

I haven't seen this and luckily there is no stealing or nothing in my area. I mainly feel sorry for the parents who buy that figure for their child despite being oblivious to the fact it's missing accessories. Apparently, the new elite packaging for those who don't know, will include "anti theft" mechanism of some kind to stop this.
I just don't get how blind employees are. Someone see's something.

Well Mattel are raising prices over here in the UK soon. So expect a short raise in costs due to the new packaging, that's only my guess. |

I bought a E23 Cesaro with a stolen belt the other day. They marked it down to 14.99 for me. In also at the point now where I'd buy an E23 macho with a stolen belt for full price. Seeing as I can't find it ANYWHERE. Hey bro, that WM I saw the E23 Savage without the belt is right by my work. I can get it for you if you want. I'll give it to ya for retail plus shipping, which loose is like $3. |

I've seen this happen a handful of times. Hopefully the new packaging will deter this behavior. It really sucks of a parent unknowingly buys their kid a toy and it is either incorrect it incomplete.

The worst is seeing an elite returned and repackaged with an old jakks figure. The creep took the time to buy the figure, take all it's accessories and replace with an old figure!

There are currently 3 E22 Big Show's and 2 E22 Kane's sitting on the shelf of my closest Walmart that have the belts stolen and the packaging ripped to shreds. The saddest part is that's the only 5 Elite figures on the shelf and it's been that way for weeks.

I've seen this so often (as well as BAF pieces from DC/Marvel figures) that I've gone to several store managers and tried to impart the information to them about catching thieves either opening packages or making a fraudulent return. Sometimes I get disinterested looks, but there have been a couple of employees who seem concerned. The more vigilance we show as a collecting community, the more difficult it will become for people to do this.

I noticed this quite a bit a K-mart with that Championship set. All the Big Shows and Kingstons had their belts taken out. Then I don't know if the scalper taped them back up or the store, but I had to wait for the next shipment to get the Big Show with the IC belt. It's just not at K-Mart it's every place. And if they put anything that is any good like belts they just steal them and ruin the figure for other collectors.

Seeing as I can't find it ANYWHERE. Sadly I feel the same way on the macho man figure. As I said in a previous post.....blue globe/black globe doesn't matter to me. I just want the damn figure........this is the only elite with a belt that pertains to though. If an elite comes with a belt I don't have or need an extra for something,then its usually a deal breaker for me if they're gone. Or for another accessory of similar importance. Thankfully the stolen accessories / figure swaps are not too prevalent in my more recent figure hunts. |
