The match at Badd Blood was going to be Brian Pillman vs. Dude Love with Goldust handcuffed to a ring post. The stipulation being that if Pillman lost to Dude Love he would have to then face Goldust in a no DQ match.
This was confirmed by Jim Cornette in the Timeline 1997 interview.

No mention of HunterDust? But yeah, I remember the green alternate costume in WWF WarZone for N64. Ridiculous, but looking back, the TAFKA Goldust era was pretty interesting I think.

By far my least favorite Dustin Rhodes gimmick up to that point.

Actually I think Brian Pillman was booked to face Dude Love at Badd Blood for whatever reason. You're right. He had just finished his feud with Goldie and Terri. They were suppose to renew their vows or something and that plan didnt go through due to Pillman's death. Or so I believe. Terri actually mentioned the original ending in an interview in 08: "The way that angle would have finished, Dustin and I would have had the renewal of our vows. I had a wedding dress that my designer had made for me. We were going to be in the ring. The preacher doing a renewal of our vows. At the time he would say, is there anyone here who has reason that these two people should not be married, let them speak now or forever hold their peace. And that would have been…Brian was going to come down and say, you know, me. I was going to actually, there was gonna be juice and lots of blood. I was gonna throw myself on top of Brian and say, Dustin, during those 30 days, I fell in love with Brian. I can't help myself, so, you know, I have to leave you and Dakota and go with Brian. The visual of that, I thought, would have been so amazing with this wedding dress, all the color all over it. And me leaving my husband and child to be with Brian."

It's a shame we never got to see that play out

Plus, I always liked the punk type look Pillman had her in when he got her for the 30 days.

Especially how the Attitude Era was beginning to really take its form around that time. Seems like, even though Goldust was perfect for the Attitude Era, he never really got the shot he needed to make it work out. I would have loved to see Goldust vs Pillman play out the way it could have. Might have avoided the whole TAFKA Goldust thing for a while, too. Who knows, maybe even avoided the dreadful fate that awaited Terri with the whole stupid miscarriage and PMS angle.

It is unacceptable to me that we never got a proper Goldust vs. HBK feud. It's a no-brainer. Also:

Yeah that was an obscure time for Goldie. I remember laughing my ass off when I seen his Gagdust attire in the Warzone Video Game.
As for Terri, I always though she was extremely hot; and looking back, I still think the same.

Rumors persist that Goldust was to be HBKs opponent originally at IYH:Mind Games.....and I believe them.but HBK wouldn't work with the character....Hall didn't want to either but he hadn't the juice to sway Vince.supposedly all Kliq members were horrified by the character except Waltman.

Even though I enjoyed the match between HBK and Mankind at Mind Games, HBK vs. Goldust could of been pretty good as well. I find it rather ironic that HBK refused to work with Goldust (which used to scare me when I was younger), but yet he went and posed for "a girly magazine" in Playgirl...

That sucks. It would have been a great feud. They could have even used his Playgirl crap as part of the storyline.

it did write itself......Goldust was tailor made for the HBK character.but Michaels was already starting to get irritated about HB-GAY chants that were creeping in at house shows etc etc,so NO WAY was he gonna work with Goldust.

Shawn's fault for acting gay. I'm sorry but when he got booed out of Madison Square Garden at Survivor Series 1996 in favor of Sycho Sid he should have realized what he was doing wasn't working with the smart fans and most of the male audience. The dancing and prancing gimmick sucked. Sorry but it did. I hated it in the 90's and watching old footage back I still hate it. By the mid-late 90s that crap was outdated and lame. This is another reason why Austin blew up in 96-97 because his whole character reflected society at that time. Dancing and prancing around wasn't popular in pop culture or anywhere. Sorry to go off topic but oh well.
