^ I don't think it worked for him necessarily as a babyface. Shawn Michaels as a heel in 1997 dancing around made a lot more sense, because it was the same character, just reflecting a different attitude where he was going to do everything he could to get under people's skin. Which included dancing, at that point. Just added fuel to his fire, and made it so people hated his cockiness even more than they had previously.
And yeah, I had often wondered why Goldust and HBK never had any real kind of feud. Although, given the time frame, I should have known.

Oh no doubt. I remember when commissioner Michaels seemed to join back up with DX and what a huge response it got. Sad it was only short lived once they locked him out for the corporation to take him out.

It is unacceptable to me that we never got a proper Goldust vs. HBK feud. It's a no-brainer. Rumors persist that Goldust was to be HBKs opponent originally at IYH:Mind Games.....and I believe them.but HBK wouldn't work with the character....Hall didn't want to either but he hadn't the juice to sway Vince.supposedly all Kliq members were horrified by the character except Waltman. I've heard this too. In fact, I think they've worked a few house shows together in the Summer of 1996. My first ever live event was a house show here in Toronto in August 96. The main event was HBK vs Goldust in a Ladder match.

I just watched the ladder match in question, it was a good match. Goldust pulled HBK's pants down while he was on the ladder and smacked his ass lol.
