This coming weekend is the UFC's 20th Anniversary event, UFC 167. Live from Las Vegas, where George St-Pierre defends his Welterweight championship against hard-hitting Johny Hendricks. This will be Georges second fight this year and his first fight back in the U.S. since 2010. Hendricks has been looking great lately, knocking out Jon Fitch and Martin Kampmann, as well as a "fight of the night" decision win over top contender Carlos Condit. The co-main event features co-analysts in a Light Heavyweight bout as #6 ranked Chael Sonnen takes on former champion and #4 ranked contender Rashad Evans. Some great fights on the PPV card and prelim portion as well. Can't wait for Lawler vs. MacDonald.

As always, hoping GSP retains. I like Hendricks though, so I wouldn't be too upset if he manages to pull off the win. The rest of the card is great as well. Hoping we see the Rashad from a couple years ago in the Octagon, and not the lackluster one we've seen his past couple fights. If he's back to his old form, I don't possibly see how Sonnen can beat him. Rory/Robbie is going to be fun as well. I'll probably pick Rory, but man, Robbie has looked like an absolute beast as of late.
I'll probably have to head out early if I want a seat in any of the sport bars I go to for UFC events. Bars/Restaurants are absolutely packed in Toronto when GSP fights.

The card is rock solid. Not sure if I end up going to a sports bar or just invite over a couple of buddies and order it.

This is going to be a great card and I'm really looking forward to it.
I think the ONLY chance Hendricks has is to catch GSP early. If he doesn't land his power shot early in the bout, then GSP is gonna dominate him, like he does with every opponent. Johny doesn't know what a 4th or 5th round feels like as of yet, where-as GSP has a dominant history of going all 5 rounds.
I think GSP is going to expose Hendricks and embarrass him. I just don't think Johny has ANY idea what he's in store for on Saturday night. I don't think he's got a clue about the kind of pace and pressure GSP is going to put on him. GSP will be too much and he'll prove it again.

GSP 50-45. Rinse and repeat. This. I'm finding it hard to get excited for the main event - it just has GSP unanimous-decision written all over it. The undercard is great though - can't wait for Koscheck Vs Woodley and MacDonald Vs Lawler. |

Johnny Hendricks based on the curse of the UFC post. (Google it, it's a post in Sherdog.)
But in truth GSP should have it in the bag, Hendricks offers the same tools as Kosh, the only thing is I don't see him getting jabbed constantly, he'll more than likely push forewards or try for the take down. If GSP does get put on his back I don't think he can sweep Hendricks either.
It's a very interesting match up depending on Hendricks game plan more than GSPs...

Really excited for this card. I'm avoiding the Junkie stream in hopes the Pettis fight gets thrown onto one of the broadcasts if something ends early. I'm pulling for Lawler, but expecting Rory to pull off a win. I'd be fine with GSP or Hendricks winning. I like both guys. If I had to pick a winner, I'd say GSP, but wouldn't be shocked in the least bit if Hendricks landed a flash KO.

Good fight card. Ridiculous decision in my opinion.
I scored it 48-47 Hendricks. I gave GSP Rounds 3 & 5.

tough fight, i had it 48-47 hendricks. 2 and 4 were hendricks, 5 was gsp, the other two were toss ups... i gave 1 to hendricks and 3 to gsp.

Like most, I had it 1,2,4 for Johny and I'm a GSP fan. What a shame.

It was a bad decision (not really a robbery though) - I had it 48-47 Hendricks (rounds 1,2 and 4). Really pleased Robbie Lawler won - and I think Tyron Woodley is now tied with Josh Thomson for the "Thank-you Of The Year" award. Robbery, bad decision etc call it whatever you want but Hendricks won rounds 1,2 and 4 and possibly even round 3 but i gave that to GSP and Gsp won round 5 so 48-47 to Hendricks. GSP now has the record for wins but its slightly tainted IMO, i bet GSP when he watches the fight back will at least privately admit he lost. He has been a great fighter and Champion and if he has retired i wish him well, i know he wants to start a family if possible. I will say that Hendricks should have tried to win round 5 a bit more than he did, yes i know he thinks he was clearly 3-1 up in rounds but you can't trust the judges. |

It seems most people (and all the judges) gave Hendricks rounds 2 and 4, and GSP rounds 3 and 5... it all hinged on the first round, which in fairness could have gone either way. |
