I apologize if this thread has been created before, but here is something I love to ask all wrestling fans. I love seeing other fans opinions on wrestlers. So here is a question I love to ask. Who do you think is the most overrated wrestler of the 1990's and why? This isn't a thread to attack other peoples opinions I just like to see what other fans think. My answer to this is Brett Hart. The reason I say Brett Hart is because I always found him to be boring as a wrestler and it seemed to me once he got the title all his matches ended the same way. His promos were bland and uninspired ( I will give him his due for the USA v Canada stuff) other than that he always seemed flat and uninteresting. Like Cena he had the five moves of doom and I feel as if he benefitted by being in the right place and right time post WWF steroid trials. Just my opinion of who I think is. I look forward to reading yours. Merry Christmas.

Overrated. I gotta say hogan. Almost all of his wins ended by a big boot then a leg drop. He got over really well with fans though. I like hogan but boy can he be boring. He uses the same moves pretty much every fight

This would belong in the classic board for further notice, but I would say Owen Hart. He was a great mid carder and that's about it.people tend to hype him up for more than he was

I'd probably go for between the likes of Hogan(though he was mainly acting in the early '90's), Bret Hart(Seemed a bit too slow paced IMO and dull, except in '97) & Lex Luger(mainly for the push he got as the All-Amercian gimmick, thought the Narcissist gimmick could've went somewhere). I'm not too sure if people liked the guy, but Yokozuna was pretty pants.

Bret Hart....
The dude had a bad attitude, and he wasn't really the "Main Event" draw that the WWF needed at the time. While he was loved by the "smart" wrestling fans - he didn't appeal to the mass audience - at least, not on the level that the WWF needed him to - the level that guys like Hulk Hogan and John Cena do...... the ones that buy a lot of tickets and a lot of merchandise.
The WWF tried to make Bret Hart the main guy - and eventually came to regret it, all leading up to the 1997 Montreal Screw Job.... they then rebooted and made "Stone Cold" Steve Austin the main guy - and the rest, as they say, is history.

WWE - Ahmed Johnson, WCW - Sting, ECW - Shane Douglas what makes you think sting is overrated? Don't get me wrong, I think late 80's - early 90's Sting is great. But he hit a point in the mid 90's where he got what I like to call the "WCW mentality", he was getting paid tons of money, working less dates and for the most part going at half rate in the ring. Part of that I admit was some of his competition, and yes he could still pull out the occasional good match when he's motivated, but he does just enough to get by. That's one of the reasons I think he never went to WWE, he could spout about the Rock saying who are you to Booker, and being afraid that WWE wouldn't use him right, but Rock said that to everyone and Mysterio & Booker worked out fine. The people that didn't work out in WWE (Steiner, Goldberg, Bagwell) had that WCW mentality coming in. Though Steiner could have been given a better chance. I think deep down, he was afraid he couldn't keep up and would have to really work to make it there. That's why TNA is a win-win for him. Dixie gets the big name in Sting, and Sting gets the WCW like perks.

His mentality probably changed when he learned hogan was getting big bucks and all he did was cut some promos and have guys lie down for him.

Kevin Nash. Easily THE most overrated guys of the 90's. held gokd in WWF( Tag Titles and World title), goes to WCW to form the Outsiders then nWo and act as if he has layed down 10 plus years in the buisness. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Nash. But, he seemed to get his way in both company's by brown nosing with the big name main eventers an made himself untouchable.
Diesel was a great gimmick. Tagging with HBK was fun, and his World Title run was fun. Same can be said for the Outsiders and all forms of nWo in WCW. But looking at his in-ring move set..... Punch, knee strike to the gut, knees in the corner, big boot, jackknife powerbomb... Literaly a Nash match!
Great talker, great face, awesome heel. But, something has always rubbed me the wrong way that he seemed to not give a crapabout wrestling, thus making him worth more to the company knowing he will walk for more money and make a "impact".
Looking at some of these names, kind of pisses me off. Shane Douglas overrated? Yea right. Bret Hart? No. Owen Hart? Hell no!

Dixie gets the big name in Sting, and Sting gets the WCW like perks. I don't buy this at all. Sting put on amazing matches in the mid to late 90's with The Giant, Booker T, Lex Luger, The Road Warriors, Bret Hart, Randy Savage, DDP, Goldberg, Scott Steiner, Masahiro Chono, Jeff Jarrett and so many more. The matches that were not up to par were matches where he was sandbagged with a weak opponent from the get go. Nash, Hall, Rick Steiner, Sid, Brian Knobbs, Meng, Hulk Hogan, Kamala, Zodiac, the Shark and others of their sort. Sting could still put on a great match with the majority of the WWE roster. Look at his recent matches with AJ Styles, Jeff Jarrett, Abyss, Samoa Joe, Magnus and others. Sting has lost a step, but he can still go. He is not overrated. He is one of the greatest of all time. If Sting never wrestles one match in a WWE ring, he will still join the Hall of Fame one day. There are very few people that have ever been able to make that claim. Sting will be the last of them.

Hulk Hogan, beyond a shadow of a doubt. He was terrible in his last years with the WWF. By the time he reached WCW, he was over 40, sloppy, slow, and fragile. Yet he main evented for years. He even kept doing the Superman comeback as a heel, so he even sucked at ring psychology.
