That's frustrating considering how seemingly popular the legacy figures were it must be for cost saving measures by funko, I like the gi joe sized figures but dunno if I want to switch and start buying a whole new line for this series. That is certainly disappointing.

Yeah... join the disappointment club. The 3rd wave of GoTs Legacy figures was apparently planned out too and just didn't happen because of the sales.
This is the game you play with Funko. When they start something, there is a higher than 50% chance they won't finish it because they are entirely dependent on sales. That being said, we should know over the next few months if we're getting a Wave 2 of the 3.75" series. It seems incredibly likely. They're good figures imo. I like them quite a bit more than I thought I would.
I don't agree with how they are doing the themes but they obviously think it's a cute idea. Meereen and King's Landing are being debated for the next wave. The catch with that is how current or relevant they would go with each place. Meereen is fairly straight forward because those characters have largely stayed the same but a King's Landing wave could mean everything from Hand of the King Ned Stark to the High Sparrow. So I'm curious.
My big wants from a King's Landing wave would be Hand Ned, Tywin and Red Viper. But then do we FINALLY see Cersei, and then which king, Joffrey or Tommen? They're both dead and it seems like Joffrey would be in higher demand. Would we see hand of the King Tyrion? I think hand of the Queen Tyrion is a no brainer but if we get King's Landing next Tyrion still won't have a singles release. Although at least he's out so if the waves ended at 2 and he wasn't in the second wave at least we had a version of him. With Meereen I want Dany, Daario, Jorah and obviously Drogon all pretty badly. There is really no room for filler in a King's Landing wave though, which is nice.
It's really just wait and see. I haven't actually seen the Wave 1 figures anywhere at retail. I know Reis said that GameStop will definitely have them but I've yet to see them there. I have Jon (x2), Ghost and the Night King from EE. I'll buy the rest, and the Wall, if I ever run across them. I ended up canceling my Amazon preorders though because they shifted to 2017, seemingly because they didn't know the actual release date anymore. Reis said the Wall is approved though and should be hitting here shortly.
I think the best we can hope for is 2-3 more waves. Funko works slowly and the show is going to be over with only the two, partial, seasons remaining. I can't imagine the line would last more than 1 wave past the series ending. Luckily they are nice sized waves. So hopefully these do really well and we can get a much bigger chunk of characters than what the Legacy line gave us.

Go with ThreeZero. Jamie Lannister is coming out soon, The Hound was announced at SDCC/ToyHongKong2016. Drago, Calisi, and White Walker are soon to follow.

The only Gamestops that I've seen them at are the ones that have the large "loot" section in the store. If you have one that has the islands out in the middle of the floor, you'll find them. That being said, I've only seen Jon, Ghost, Styr, and Tormund at Gamestop. I did find the whole wave at my LCS though. |

I had only got 3 of the Legacy figures........Robb, Ned & Jon. So I'm good with the 3:75" guys. I like the first wave and will get them at some point soon. Who I wanna see......

I gotta dump my Legacy figures then. Love them but no reason to have a random smattering of GOT characters. They were kind of cheap as well. Needle snapped pretty much out of the package, very annoying.
I love the look of the smaller line and want them but can't justify spending on these at the moment, sadly. If Marvel Legends hadn't pulled a fast one and thrown an X-Men line in my face it may be a different story. But between that and Mattel WWE and Nintendo by Jakks- I am filled.

Not sure if anyone was interested in seeing the Power Loader set. I ended up getting it for $18 and change from Amazon. Pretty great imo. Awesome. I don't really keep up with Funko.... I did buy the 7" Rocketeer figure (it's kind of wonky and the face looks nothing like the actor) but I knew they put out some figures like this for some random horror films and we got my son some of the Aliens and Predator ones but he would love to have this. The kid is way into Alien and Predator stuff and is like me in his love for Neca. But he actually really loves the 3.75 scale figures. I thought he would kind of not care about them because they don't articulate as well as Necas stuff and the detail isn't as cool (which I get is the point) but he really, really loves them and it would look cool next to the Powerloader and Alien queen figures he already has. Thanks for the idea. |
